Name: Sugihara Rei (杉原 靈) P.S. I put my last name first
Nickname: spirit
Physical Description: Rei is a girl with who appears to be around sixteen (she's actually about 20). She has two gray, almost silver, eyes, and there are four yellow triangle tattoos around her left eye. Rei has straight raven black hair that reaches her two back bones, and is usually tied into a low ponytail that flows down her back. She has a slim and flexible body and has an average height (around five feet tall) with a weight about 120 pounds.

Special Accessories: Rei wears a bracelet made out of linked silver chains on her right hand. It is said that it was given to her by Seiki, a friend of hers in the real world.
Skills: Rei had been very interested in astronomy in the human world, so she somehow remembered the places of all the constellations and stars in the sky and at a certain period of time in the year, where will they be.
Personality: Rei is a silent and often shy person who doesn't like to talk much. Rei does not like crowded and loud places filled with people mainly because she finds socializing to other people uncomfortable and annoying due to her experiences in her past life (see biography.) The good thing is that since entering the soul society, she had been able to open up her heart and mind more and more. Though she works with others fine, due to her unsocial personality, Rei rarely make any close friends. She likes it best when she's given instructions and orders because she finds it easiest to do work that way (may be the result of again, her past life.)
Biography: Rei was born on a moonless night on July 15 in an orphanage in a civil war disturbed country. Shortly after she was born, her mother died of excessive bleeding (there was no real medical care there); Rei lived in the orphanage since. She later got captured by the government rebellions along with her friends in the orphanage when the rebellion attacked the village in which the orphanage was in. She got separated from her friends and was forced to become a child soldier by the rebellions with the threat that they were going to kill her if she disobeys any one of their orders (Rei was about six when that happened). She was given a yellow tattoo around her left eye to symbolize that she was in the rebellion's army and also to identify the child soldiers if they ever try to escape the group of rebels. Brainwashed and left with very little feelings, Rei fought the government with her fellow soldiers without any real clue of what was going on and what she was doing. She and her fellow soldiers lived in bushes under the harsh desert environment, and due to the fear of provoking any of the rebellions guarding them, they almost never spoke to one another. The silence remained for most of her life and followed her into the soul society.
The silence was broken when a newly captured boy soldier was brought into the group of brainwashed children. He was not only bold and brave, but also believed and told tales of what the country's government was doing to help the child soldiers quietly to anyone who would listen late at night out of the ear shots of the guards. Through the boy, whose name is Seiki, Rei begins to regain her lost emotions, and Seiki and she became close friends for she shared the dream of freedom with him. About three or four years passed and the government showed no sign of stopping the rebellions, and though Rei already gave up hope on the government, Seiki still talked about it when they were alone. Rei admired his conviction, but she still thought that he was a fool for hoping for so long. The day before her death, they had a fight in which Rei shouted that he was naive to put his trust in the government and upset him so badly that Seiki stormed off in great fury. The next day, though Rei was beginning to regret her rudeness with Seiki and wanted to apologize, she wasn’t able to talk to him because the rebellions dragged her off to set bombs for them before she had the chance to even see him. Ignorant to the knowledge that the bomb she was to plant was actually due to explode when she set it, she was killed within seconds after she fixed the bomb onto its intended location. As she was dying, she looked up to the cloudless, moonless sky, and wished to whoever was on the other side that she may see Seiki again.
She woke up lying on the street in one of the small villages around the Sereitei, and after hearing that soul reapers are able to visit the world of the living to purify hollows, she quickly decided that she was going to enter the shinigami academy in order to meet Seiki again and to properly apologizes to him (even though she knows that normal people can't see nor hear them, she still wants to say a proper apology.)
Zanpaktou: Not yet achieved!
Name: Synchra
Shikai State: “Lightning streaks the sky, roaring wind reaps the terrains, so break through the sky line and fall, Synchra!”
To release Synchra, Rei positions the sword in front of her chest horizontally with one hand holding the hilt and the other resting against the sword. When she says “so break through the sky line and fall”, Rei swings the sword in a straight line sideways until it is horizontal at the right side of her body, the blade facing behind her.
Description: Synchra is a zanpaktou that is capable of using the power of the shooting stars. The sword’s blade is pure black and can reflect light easily, a bit like a TV screen, except that it’s not that transparent. It is a long bladed sword, thin and graceful. Its hilt is golden colored, with two moon colored ribbon and a metal chain with a star at the end attached to it. The two ribbons are longer than the metal chain, and they resemble silk in the way they flow, but both are not transparent.
Basic Attacks:
Normally, after Synchra is released, a sudden band of ever moving light surrounds the entire sword, always moving, so creating a rippling effect on the eyes (almost like a whip like band of sizzling power encircling the black sword.) When slashed by that band of light, leaving the foe with both a burnt large gash of wound, but of course, the level of damage inflicted also depends on Rei’s riatsu at the time and the foe’s.
Move set:
The Azure Dragon of the East (東方青龍): Rei positions the blade’s point toward the East (Rei has an acute sense of direction from living out in the wild) and summons the form of a dragon made by streaks of light. The form will be gathered by streaks of light congregating and surrounding the sword and amass into a dragon. This is her most often used move set since this is basically her direct attack amplified. It works like Renji’s Zabimaru except that since you are engulfed in streaks of stars, you can escape from the dragon if you move fast enough by getting into the spaces in between the streaks of light.
The Black Tortoise of the North (北方玄武): Figured, Rei points her sword toward the North. The light around her zanpaktou turns into a turtle shell like form in front of Rei, working like a shield. The shield can be placed anywhere and at any amount of area, but the more spread out the shield is, the more likely the chance of the attack getting through the shield. Of course, the level of riatsu that the shield is able to protect against also depends on Rei’s riatsu level and the foe’s attack power.
The White Tiger of the West (西方白虎): The sword is pointed toward the West. This is Rei’s form of transportation when her zanpaktou is released. Basically, the form of a tiger appears by streaks of light gathering together. The special thing about this move set is that it does not take all of the lights surrounding the zanpaktou, but only about 2/3 of it. The remaining 1/3 is reserved to do some basic attack and small amount of protection. The tiger can go anywhere; from running in the sky to running on top of water. But since the tiger is made out of flashes of light and heat, it leaves an obvious trail when running on the ground (Ex: burnt wood and incinerated grass) and in the sky (Ex: an obvious, shining form against the night sky.)
The Vermillion Bird of the South (南方朱雀): Rei points her sword toward the South. This is Rei’s strongest attack but also drains a lot of her spiritual pressure. Two attacks using the Vermillion Bird while having full gauge riatsu is the most Rei can manage, or all of her riatsu might be drained (hence death.) This attack gathers the lights around her sword and most of her riatsu into the shape of a phoenix bird with about the size of a grown crow. Its speed is extremely fast and slashes through the foe while flying vertically. It works almost like Uryu’s first form of his quicy arrow, beside for the fact that the Vermillion Bird is a lot more powerful, a lot faster, and has both heat and crackles of electricity running through its body. Basically, you can imagine this attack like Sonic’s final smash in Brawl (for any gamers out there).
Rei gave every single move set’s form a nickname (not when calling in battle, just for casual conversations, though the spirits don’t really mind either way….):
- The Azure Dragon of the East (東方青龍): Uki (rainy season)
- The Black Tortoise of the North (北方玄武): Kokkai (black sea)
- The White Tiger of the West (西方白虎): Hakushi (blank sheet)
- The Vermillion Bird of the South (南方朱雀): Kaen (flame)
Zanpaktou Spirit: Synchra is a shy zanpaktou spirit with a form as a dark, long haired youth with the appearance of a 17 years old. There are long strands of extra hair (sort of tentacles like) branching of from his head and his hair is tied into a low long ponytail down his back. Synchra is considered male, and he has yellow eyes and a tattoo at the brim of his right eye. He wears flowy Chinese like robes and has a star shaped glowing thing on his forehead. Synchra has a thick necklace made out of thick yarn like material, decorated by long rectangular blocks of wood that hands down from the thick string. He also has a shawl like thing that covers his lower back and his lower arm. At the back, the shawl has the Chinese characters for north, east, south, and west printed on it. Synchra also has a pair of transparent white wings. Because of his shy personality (much like Rei), Synchra barely communicates with Rei, but he doesn’t do this intentionally; Synchra is just afraid that Rei’s going to dislike him if he talks too much. Synchra is fiercely loyal, and he’s also big on kneeling to people whom he respects, like Rei who dislikes that act, and whom upon gaining her shikai, orders Synchra to stand (he’s taller than her) and treat her as an equal.
Others: After Rei is able to release Synchra into his shikai form, her hair becomes a really light brown permanently. The reason is that Synchra’s color was originally stored insight Rei’s features, but since able to release the black color to the zanpaktou, Rei’s hair returned to the hair color she originally had in the human world.
