User ImageSince her encounter with the second lioness, the one who liked to climb trees and pounce near strangers with a giggle and an innocent look, Kali had been quite careful when she walked around tall trunks and strong branches. She didn't know if what the other female had said was true: did many others of this pride enjoy climbing trees like leopards? Really?

Either way, she did not want to make the same mistake twice, so she began to be more careful about her surroundings.

It was actually a bit harder to meet others here than in the roguelands, say, or anywhere else. It seemed like the members here tended to keep to themselves. She didn't mind that at all; once she found a proper den and a proper mate (although that latter was yet to be determined), the adolescent would enjoy the privacy as well.

But until then, she was more frustrated at the lack of interaction than anything. How was she supposed to learn more and meet more lions if none of them came out of their hidey-holes?

User Image Kanti was getting pretty big, she wasn't a large lioness but she was now fully grown and she thought she looked quite good. Obviously she wasn't as pretty as her sister or some of the other females but she looked good to her and that was just what she wanted.

She enjoyed wandering around the prides lands though she didn't often see anyone else. It didn't bother her though she knew what was expected of her and so she would do her duties and then go back to her den to rest and then hunt, eat, and wander and then again back to her den. It was a reasonably boring routine but Kanti didn't mind it was better then sitting around all the time.

She was wandering today when she had spotted the female she had met a few moons ago. Kali wasn't it? She smiled and happily bounded over towards her.

"Hey Kali!" She bounded over with a large smile on her face, her tail flicking behind her.

Kali's ears flicked over behind her and she turned her head around while a smile smoothed over her features. "Kanti! What a surprise!" The white lioness seemingly had gotten more beautiful over night. She was bigger than Kali, now, though not by much (since the brown lioness was big for her age anyway), and was obviously now an adult.

"You look well. How have things been since I saw you last?"

She didn't have a specific story to tell if asked, though she would relate the most recent encounter with a tree-climbing lioness. Other than that, though...

Not much else had really happened. Kali had spend a lot of time roaming around and exploring, and familiarizing herself with her clan's background and such. But as far as interactions with other pridemembers? It didn't really happen.

One thing being, of course, that she didn't want to interact with those too much higher on the rankings than her (she feared that it would tarnish their image more than her own). But Kanti was safe. She was a Shikar-i too, and therefore always welcome for a conversation.

Kali actually blinked to herself as all these thoughts tumbled through her mind. Had it actually been that long since she had first arrived here? Already, she was thinking like she had been here all her life. It was a puzzlement, and she frowned a bit in confusion at first. She would have to think more on it later.

Kanti smiled at the other lioness, she seemed to be more at home now and Kanti was happy about that at least.

"Things have been the same as normal. Life seems to go on as always. How about you? What clan did you decide to join?" Kanti being herself never hung about to find out whether or not others had joined the clan. She wasn't a good clan member really, she spent most of her time wandering and she had a habit of sleeping under the stars somewhere random instead of with the clan.

"Have you met any other nice lions since joining?" She couldn't help but wonder if the younger female had done better then her with all the socializing side of life.

"Things keep going on, same as you. I joined the Chatri clan, actually. They seemed to like greens a bit more than the others, so I thought I fit in pretty well." Kali didn't know if she had been a good clan member so far, as well, but took her new status as being more easily forgiven, so she took great advantage of that.

"Just one," she added with a chuckle. "Shu, a very nice lioness who happens to climb trees. She actually scared me pretty bad by jumping down from one nearby the other day, so we actually began to talk about it. But other than that, not many other lions, no." She seemed almost apologetic, but she knew that in time, she would meet more. Especially if she had any thoughts of finding a mate.

The thought made her twitch. Of course, it was a desire every lion (or so she would think) had, but perhaps for her it wasn't the usual kind of thing. She still had much to think about, inwardly, on that subject.

Kanti nodded.

"Well at least you have a home! Though I must say i have never heard of a lion who climbs trees, I think I would have been as shocked as you were!" She laughed a little imagining a lioness jumping randomly out of a tree.

"I am sure you will meet more lions, the pride is a large one after all and I am always about if you want some company!" Kanti smiled more then happy to hang about with the younger lioness. It was nice to have a friend and as Kanti had spent most of her time on her own when she was younger she would welcome the company.

Kanti however had given up on the idea of having a mate. She was well the lowest rank and with her white you really couldn't get much lower and so she never expected anyone to want her. She was happy as she was and though a mate would be wonderful she didn't expect it. She wished it for everyone else though, everyone deserved their happy ending.

Kali grinned and nodded as well. "True! At least I wouldn't be the only one, then." She didn't feel so bad about her reaction, now. She had been surprised.

"Thanks! I enjoy your company, too. I'll definitely come visit again whenever I'm lonely or so," she giggled. "And you too! Come find me whenever you'd like." She did like spending time with Kanti. The older lioness seemed to know much of the pride, and she was a kind lioness to spend time with.

It wasn't that Kali didn't want a mate, of course. It was just the thought of having to go through all the regular courtship rituals and spend more time with the other lion, and if she even wanted a male as a mate. Wasn't that another perk to this pride? She didn't have to have a male. She could have another girl. They were better conversationalists anyway, and understood her far better than any male could.

Again, she would...have to consult with her inner self on this matter, but the more and more she thought of it, the more it made sense.

Kanti nodded, "I shall remember that!" She smiled at Kali and then came up with an idea.

"Would you like to go hunting? There are some small clever animals here and I do love chasing them. I don't generally catch them though they are quick but it can be fun!" Kanti had a habit of hunting for fun, it passed time and she enjoyed herself, maybe Kali would like it to?

"There are large vole like things and meerkats. All of which are great fun to chase!" It was always fun to chase things, those who didn't enjoy the joys of the chase Kanti was sure would grow old and bored.

Kali was truly thankful to have found a friend in Kanti. Honestly, who'd have known that the female who had introduced her to the pride would have become such a good friend? She smiled.

"I'd love to go hunting with you. I haven't gone hunting with someone else since...oh, it's been a while." She chuckled.

"Plus I'm hungry. After you; you know the way better than me." She bowed her head pleasantly to allow her friend to lead the way. She would follow, and they would have a grand time hunting and eating together.

((finish it up with your post, perhaps? :3))

Kanti smiled,

"Sure! We can go hunt big food or small food.." She pondered what to look for as they walked. It was nice to have a friend here, Kanti had been so use to running around on her own that it was a little strange to have someone walking with her, especially having to talk at the same time.

"This way!" She called and started to walk in a seemingly random direction but she knew where the birds tended to land on the ground and where the other small animals tended to be, but then they could always leave the jungle to get something much bigger.
