In the point of Khuluma’s travels, he had met a good number of gods, all of which he was proud for discovering. They had all given him knew things to think about and consider, and the felt himself gentle shaped by their words. It was why he was wandering on his own to find more, along with the recent decision to also not overlook mortals. He was also well aware he had no family, or at least had not heard any word of them. To him, he had no idea that he could be messing out on any vital male guidance or appropriate traditional views. Boys were boys and girls were girls all defined by gender and little else. What concern did Khuluma have for anything outside of this. He had met pretty gods and goddesses who had been tender and nurturing to him, and all very lovely to look at. Still, as much as he could envy pieces of each god, there were yet to be any he could safely say rivaled his looks. Limbuko was a close second, but the man still lacked his lovely wings, his glorious curling hair, or the soft pelt of gold he wore. Grapes were lovely, but gold jewelry was divine in his opinion.

Very proud of his looks, Khuluma also made sure to maintain them, and while taking breaks in flying, would preen. Sitting by a small pound that he found was clear, he set about washing his wings, making sure to get any grime and dirt from the pristine white, and then went about combing his hair. He had yet to learn what else to do with it when flying aside from taking one of his tail rings and using that to hold it back. When he landed, he always took it out and fixed his hair. Hair such as his was made for showing off after all. That was what made talking with mortals a pain. He had to HIDE his wings and alter his hair just a bit shorter so that they did not think he was peculiar. Lowering his visual standards to mortals was aggravating, and he sighed as he cleaned his wings, and then made them invisible. For now, he worked on his hair, humming as he looked at the sparkling water as he sat on a rock.

23…24…25…26..” He sang, counting each paw stroke he used to come his hair. No mortals around, he could keep his hair as it was.

User ImageSatomi was a happy girl, she wasn't likely to be annoying or mess anyone about, in fact she was more then happy to watch a lion or one of those long legged things and try to learn about them. She was a pretty lioness though she wouldn't have thought so, she was far from vain. She was delicate, her movements flowed beautifully and she was as her domain said femininity. She was everything it was. She knew her role in life and she knew what she believed to be a males role. That was all she needed to know, she went around horrified and sometimes disgusted by the way some females worked.

She had been shocked at how females hated males, the way some females even treated them. She had been shocked at how females were taking over male roles and everything about it seemed wrong to her. She was naive when it came to the mortal world and though she found much of it fascinating there was so much that was also horrifying!

She moved today wandering the lands wondering where she could find some others to watch and she would have never noticed the godling if it wasn't for the fact that he was counting. She headed in the direction of the sound and smiled when she saw him. His hair was quite something that was for sure but all in all he looked like a healthy male cub.

"Having fun?" Her voice was quiet and gentle. She had probably never shouted at anyone in her whole life.

Khuluma had not been expecting any company of the sort, but that never meant he was up for it. Bad mood or Cheerful, Tired or Distracted, he was always in need of a good talk. When Khuluma was working his way into the forties, he stopped his counting to the sound of something soft and sweet, which gave him cause to stop. Looking about, he spotted one of the most gorgeous – no – THE most gorgeous mortal. Then again, he hadn’t meet too many mortals, but it was saying something that he would bestow that honor to a mortal at all, especially one that was clearly female. Anyone with eyes could see she was exceptional, and while Khuluma tended to pick out things here and there that he liked in the appearance of others, a earring or a certain colored pelt, this female had covered every point. The hair, the eyes, the coloring and design of her pelt, all of it had glimmered in Khuluma’s eyes. It was the first time he even considered a mortal, and a female at that, could be seen as someone who surpassed even his looks. Envy welled up inside, and he closed his mouth, having had it open in a moment of awe.

Shaking himself from his trance, he nodded. “Ah- yes. I always have fun when I’m combing my hair, but it’s hardly anything compared to yours.” He couldn’t believe he actually said that! His hair was his loveliest trait, one in which he found no other challenger. That was, not until now.

Combing his hair had turned to tugging at it as he held his locked and looked at her, trying not to appear as if he was staring. “You probably get this all the time, but you are very pretty. ” Thus far, the only person he had found handsome in his eyes was a certain male god, but this stranger had taken him for a loop.

Satomi chuckled at his reaction.

"Why thank you but your hair is amazing, I am sure many envy it." She smiled as she spoke as she always did, he was a very attractive cub and she wondered if he would be a heart breaker when he was older.

"I am Satomi, Goddess of Femininity." She introduced herself as she did upon meeting others and as he was a god, she always added her domain as well. She didn't too mortals though as like him, most assumed she was a mortal. She didn't have wings and though to some that seemed weird it had never bothered her and she was quite happy with how she was.

The godling held his hand, pausing in his combing, to smile at the compliment. He hoped many did like his hair. Rokopelli, the goddess of Confusion, had been so moved to ask permission to touch it. Flattered, he gave a small nod as thanks for the compliment. It was when she mentioned she was a goddess that he was both thrilled and relieved. There was still no mortal as lovely as ..they? It seemed he would have to reevaluate his ranking in the world in terms of beauty. Satomi was already taking the ranks of the top of the list, but Khuluma felt he secured the spot of the prettiest male, though Limbuko was very attractive.

So you are a goddess? I should have guessed. I didn’t think anyone as pretty as you could be born here in the mortal realm.” Femininity? He swore he knew the word. Something about females, or was it about a quality of females? Or was it something to do with walking? He never heard the word, but was sure the meaning was on the tip of his tongue. “Fem-in-in-ity? I don’t think I know what that really means."

Oh, and where is my head? I’m Khuluma, the god of Rhetoric. ” He set his paws down and stood up to show himself for all that he was, and noticing he had hidden his wings, revealed them, opening them to give the full effect.

"It is the essence of females." It was the best way she was going to put it anyway. "How we should act, what our duties our things like that. Anything that makes a female female." She had never had to explain her domain before and so she wasn't overly sure about what it was it meant.

"It is nice to meet you Khuluma." She smiled and wondered whether she should ask what his domain meant to be polite but decided against it, she knew what it was and seemed silly to get him to explain when she already knew.

"You would be surprised, some mortals are very attractive, some not so but still there is quite a variety out there!" She smiled as she spoke, the same sweet smile that never seemed to leave her face.

Khuluma tilted his head, thinking about this. What a female did and was suppose to do? To him, a female was just a female based on her gender. What she did was up to her, and what she was suppose to do meant there was something Khuluma was suppose to do as a male? Was there some set rules out to being a male, and if so, what were the consequences for breaking these rules?

He had to close one eye as he thought of this very weird idea that had dawned on him, but he straightened his face as Satomi spoke. It was rude to make faces when you were talking to someone, and when Satomi was giving him such a darling face, he had to match it. Smiling , he listened.

I haven’t met too many mortals, so I’ll take your word. I’ll have to see for myself of course. ” He doubted any of them would be prettier than the pair of them no matter how many he saw.

Back to his previous thoughts, he perked up. If there was someone to ask about breaking any rules, this was the goddess to ask, right? “ Satomi, you said there are things that make females female. Could you tell me? I know you are no expert of males per say, but you are the reverse. If I know what females are suppose to do, then maybe there are things that I should do opposing to that. I don’t want to get in trouble. ” Who knew what the other Goddess of manhood would do to him.

"I am sure you will meet more mortals as you grow, you are still young." She smiled at him and then laughed at his next question.

"I am afraid explaining what females are and do to a male is against my rules. Males work females out in their own way. You know what a male is to do, its a subconscious knowledge and it is things you will do without realising. Sometimes a female will act more like a male - that is when they are not embracing their Femininity. There is nothing to stop them doing it, no one to punish them for it and I am sure the same goes for Masculinity for the males." She wasn't overly sure whether she was making sense but it wasn't something she could explain, it was a deep rooted thing in every living creature. If you watched the birds and the rabbits, even they have gender roles however small they might be. It was just a fact of life.

"You will understand when you are older and your hormones kick in. Then you will be a man and I hope you will be able to embrace Masculinity." Though she did wonder whether he would end up embracing Femininity and may end up a bit gay, though it was only because of the pride he took on his hair, she hadn't seen many males do such things but then as males weren't experts on females Satomi had no clue what so ever about males. They were a strange species to her!

The fact he would have to wait to find out irked him, and his ears went flat at the news. How annoying. He wanted to know now, and he had hoped Satomi would tell him more, but it seemed there was at least one rule here which meant she couldn’t say. He felt he was being punished from knowing the secret because he was a male, and he went back to combing his hair. Fine. She could keep her little secret. When he became older, he would know. If not, he’d just as a male and see if he knew. Then that would be THERE secret and not hers. So there.

I don’t like that. Keeping secrets and just knowing because you know. I hate waiting.” He liked to get information directly, and he had never considered another god would just choose not to. He wondered if there was a Masculinity Goddess about, and if so, he wanted to know the secret that Femininity wasn’t tell him. Then again, he was sure he was doing just fine. Just look at him! He was the prettiest male out there, and he had seen lots of pretty males.

Not wanting to be short with Satomi just because she didn’t want to share, he looked back to her. “What brings you about, Satomi? Are you traveling too? I’m traveling to find other gods and talk to mortals along the way. I’m supposed to be learning. Palahala told me not to ignore mortals, because they can teach me lots of things. ” His eyes were on her, and he wondered if he could touch Satomi’s lovely hair. It looked soft, and he wanted to see if it was softer than his hair.

"It is knowledge I was born consciously knowing and every other female subconsciously knowing so how would it be fair to tell someone such things when they need to discover these things on their own?" It was a fair statement in her mind, she wasn't keeping a secret as such, she was allowing each female and apparently male to learn about themselves in the way they should. Telling someone they should be like this or that was damaging, she didn't know why she knew that but she did and so she had made the rule a long time ago to keep things like that to herself for the protection of everyone else.

"Yes I am traveling and this Palahala talks sense. You can learn much from mortals! Did you know there is this thing called a cheetah and they have very strange long legs. It's very confusing!" She smiled as she spoke, she hadn't seen these creatures before up in the god haven and so much of this was new.

He guessed it made sense, but he couldn’t help but pout at the idea. Waiting was waiting and he grew impatient at times. He would much rather know now, but it seemed this was one of those things he had to learn by himself and there was just no other way around learning it than growing up. Growing up was slow though. He was still the same he had been 5 days ago, and he pouted again at wondering how long it would take him until he figured this Femininity thing out for himself.

Deciding to drop it now to think about it later, he smiled to Satomi. “I think I’ve seen them. They have long legs and run fast. They also have spots, but I think they are smaller than mine are. ” He turned to look at his pelt, licking a spot to make sure it was clean before turning back.

Palahala is really smart. He’s been teaching me a lot. You should meet him. He has very cute hooves and he can jump very high. I’m not that graceful yet.” He grinned at the idea of his mentor and looked out. “There are also these things called klipspringes that jump really high like Palahala and have horns just like him. I met a whole herd of them. They don’t like strangers though, because predators hurt them. I find it confusing that little things with horns can jump higher than I can, even though I have wings.” he gave his wings a few test flaps.

She nodded as he described the cheetahs.

"Yep thats them." She watched him lick himself and decided that he was rather vain. He had spent so much time brushing his hair and then licked himself when he wasn't even dirty. Well some males were vain but hmmm she could hope he would grow out of it.

"A god with hooves?" who lived with food? What was the world coming to.

"I am not surprised, klipspringers are rather tasty." It was best she didn't visit him and his herd the temptation of the hunt might be too much to resist. She rather liked hunting, it was something she was good at.

"I am sure you will jump high when you are bigger." Well she wasn't sure at all but she was still distracted at the thought of a god with hooves living with food. How odd.

Khuluma had never hunted and never tasted meat. Not being around mortals, he didn’t have to taste any and he wasn’t the type to suddenly try hunting. He had his spurts of wanting to pounce, but all targets had been nothing more than rocks and twigs. Hunting was not a chief concern for him. After being with Palahala, the idea was even less appealing. Thinking of the god, he couldn’t think of killing that resembled his friend.

I’ve never tried it. When I’m in his herd, no predator feels compelled to hunt. It’s one of his powers. Since I don’t need to eat, I don’t see any reason to learn how to hunt. If I feel the need to eat meat one day, I’ll wait for a creature that expired recently to experience the taste. Right now, I’d keeping my eyes out for other foods to taste. What’s your favorite food, Satomi?” He hoped it wasn’t klipspringers.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 15, 2009 10:57 am

"I will eat anything. Though it's more for the thrill of the hunt then the food. Hunting is something no one should miss out on." She smiled as she spoke. She loved hunting, adored it. She would even do so if she wasn't hungry just because it was exciting and thrilling.

"Meat does taste amazing though, whether its hare, klipspringer, waterbuck, zebra, buffalo. All of them, delicious!" She nodded her head as she finished talking. She wouldn't care too much about hunting and she doubted that meeting this god would change her mind either. She loved the thrill of it too much.

The thrill of the hunt? The idea tugged at his strong sense of curiosity. Was he missing something in neglecting to hunt even when it wasn’t a necessity to him? Maybe, but he couldn’t. Every animal that was hunter was prey, and every prey animal was a ward of Palahala. He didn’t want to betray the friendship they had by killing someone under his protection. If the god came to the call of a creature he was killing, he would hate him. That right there was reason enough to sacrifice the excitement of hunting. Still, he wondered secretly to himself about it, but those thoughts would be the only thing he would chew on.

I will – have to take your word for it. ” He said, shying away from the topic. Maybe if Satomi found something more thrilling, the idea of hunting would be seen dull in comparison and not worth her time.

What else do you find thrilling? I know many gods and goddesses find thrills in work, in the world, or simple pleasures like making others feel good. What about you?
