Saturday, August 8th... This past Tuesday we bought a skinny mare from a mexican rodeo dealer near Stockton. The mare is at least 20, a sweet personality, but very neglected. We gave her the name Snickers. She received a full set of vaccinations. Also liquid ivermectin wormer. Out to our north field Snickers goes, with other rodeo horses.
Early yesterday morning, standing next to Snickers, a brand new filly foal. The old gal had given birth during the night. I quickly made a round pen available (Salvino was annoyed) and guided the foal and her mom through traffic. It took 15 minutes to get to the round pen. Mom and daughter exhausted. Both stretched out and went right to sleep.
Poor old skinny Snickers. Used for tripping at mexican rodeos. Who knew she was carrying a kid?
This pic changes vvv You can see Snickers on the webpage though.

I donate some $$ to TB Friends b/c they are a rescue that rehabs the useable horses. They don't go out of their way to rescue horses that will cost thousands of $$ to rehab or keep alive.
