My brother says that Samurai Champloo is Samurai Champion... but i dont beleive him.. Does anyone know what the champloo means? confused

i think that it just means somebody in shinichiro watanabes naming the show department(if there is such a thing) is laughing their asses off rofl while we try and figure out the title question my dad calls it samurai champoo sweatdrop

he's correct. Champloo means mix anf if you think about it for a bit, it'll make sense. Take Jin, for example. He's a wild spirit who follows no rules but his own, and there's no telling what he will do. He's unpredictable, like a bunch of things "mixed" together.

yeah if you watched the video they had on adultswim.com (i don't know if it's still there, i haven't been on that site in so long), they explained that the word "Champloo" literally means noodles mixed together with so many different ingredients or something like that. I agree with Quiksilver but i think it also means (anime-wise) that Mugen and Jin (two completely different samurais) going together in a journey. In the episode where they met the Dutchman he actually called them "Samurai Champloo" so.. yeah...

yes the manga said it meant fusion and then i discovered(via Azumanga Diaoh...i love that show) i discovered champloo is a noodle dish that is like eaten alot in okinawa
