[Tell me what you think about Aaron McGruder's edgy politically incorrect comic strip and cartoon series (which airs on Catoon Network's Adult Swim).
Personally, I am disappointed. The R. Kelly episode was funny...but still disappointing.]

I like it but it could be better it kinda lacks the satirical bite it had before, but the last episode when grandadd dates a ho is the hilarious.

I really liked it, its funny.
I'm really afraid that people will look at it as though all African Amercians are like that though.

Anytime a black writer or artist portrays something about black people, there's always someone out there who will look at it as if it's a documentary instead of a comical look at fictional characters' lives. rolleyes I don't concern myself with the effects of that assumption. *shrug* People will be what they will be and think what they will think. If they affect my life, then I might worry with correcting them.
I agree, thirdeye, I does lack the satirical bite. I like that phrase. The R. Kelly episode bit hard, though, LOL. The ho episode...hmmrrr...I dunno how "funny" the whole thing was. But the pimp at the end was funny.]

i think the reason it doesn't hit as hard as the strip is that the strip has to hit hard. it's only got three or four panels to say what it has to say, therefore, Mr. M has to just spit it out, as opposed to a 22 min episode on Adult Swim, where he has to take his time to get to the point.
given time to get used to the newer, longer format, i think the show will improve.

And I agree. 3nodding Hopefully in the near future after I've gotten used to the point getting dragged out for over 20 minutes, I will be able to appreciate the show as much as the strip. 3nodding ]

My mom saw the show, and she hates it. She says it's degrading to black people, and went on and on about how it's disgusting.

She says it's degrading to black people, and went on and on about how it's disgusting. dang. has she read the strip? i think if she got the point behind the strip, she'd understand it better. that's another drawback to having to drag out the point for so long - people who don't understand what McGruder is trying to do aren't going to see what's he's trying to do until it's too late - until the show gets pulled.

i think the show is good
but if you've never heard of it or read the strip, your probably going to think it's bad, i think it's funnny, but then again i guess alot of people cant understand the jokes
