The hard-packed earth is full of people from all over the country, all gathered here under the heavy sun to browse through the open-air market.

Stalls and shabby lean-to booths are set up in no apparent order, selling everything from hot meat pies to swords to gardening tools. Merchants can be heard haggling over prices and calling out their wares to passerby, and street urchins run amok through the crowd, stealing from merchants and buyers alike.

At the well in the center of the market, minstrels play for a few meager coins, and travellers stop to water their mounts and exchange news. Small children, chased by their guardians, run up and toss savings into the well, pausing to make a wish only to be caught and dragged back home by their loved one.
