The House has made Miel a very interesting room. One wall is white, another black, another wall red, and the last one is blue. There are two windows, each decked with different trim and different drapes. The carpeting is black on one half of the room and white on the other. The bedclothes are checkered black and white for both beds, with one red pillow, and one blue pillow on each. The House has provided Miel with a "dance-floor" of maple, smoothed and finished - in a nook off of the room, in a protrusion of the room coverered in windows. All windows look out upon the lake behind the House.[Pic/Map coming asap]

Also, the kitling has discovered my paints...must get him fingerpaints or something more appropriate. 03.13 || Recieved a strange "mirror" thing from the House (I think)..Miel wont leave it alone..and it seems to calm him. He can keep it! 03.05 || Miel is having screaming fits. I don't know what's going on... 02.14 || Confronted Laute. Hopefully she will remain gone. Time will tell. 02.13 || We have discovered that the ghost is a former resident named Laute. Apparently this room was once the room of her best friend, Dairen. Will be confronting the spectre now. 02.04 || Have been given a Task. Our room is haunted. The House seems to want me to exorcise it. Oo 01.24 || The House has seen fit to give Miel into my care.

Name: Miel Species: Ky'thri Family: Syrie (Kitsune Guardian), The House, Octi Likes: warm things, music, pears, cookies, Octi the plushie, and water Dislikes: people not understanding him, sharp sounds, most green foods The following is information that will come about via rp and things, it is just being placed here so Syrie doesn't misplace it. OOC Info Miel is a child caught forever between this and that, and unable to differentiate between the two. He seees and hears things that no one else does, and his mind is either totally blank from overstimulation, or has hundreds of things racing through it at once; so much so that he has trouble forming coherent thoughts; one thought goes to another to another and another, rapid-fire throught his mind which each new thing encountered. This makes him quiet, and fairly reserved; though there is a lot of frustration and anger in him (at his inability to be understood etc) He is graceful - a dancer - in dance he finds he can express himself when he is closed off in all other ways. In dance, in music, in the motions...he finds comfort and solace.
The mirror that he wears about his neck, the one given to him by the House, has the ability to block the voices and sounds that Miel hears. When he wears it, he isn't so affected by that aspect of his disorder. Other aspects still remain.

Syrie is Miel's "parent"; appointed by the House to care for this special child. The russet kitsune has the outward appearance of a man in his early twenties, though the reality is that he is quite a bit older than that. He has no recollection of where or what he was doing before he came to Gaia, but isn't too concerned about that. He's rather clumsy in some areas, and can generally be found with a sketchbook. Bites when provoked. Octi is Miel's very first toy. This pastel sea-green plush goes with him everywhere. He speaks to it constantly, and sometimes I wonder if the damned thing isn't answering him - and I just cant hear it.

Caesar :: Haven't Met Echo :: Briefly spotted in the Kitchen - who is this pixie-like baby!? Iole :: The two had an entire "conversation" about the items that the House had given them, and seemed to get along fairly well. This could be due to the fact that Miel doesn't insist on having any attention for himself - so Iole can have it all...but who knows. Kuala :: Haven't Met Lear :: Haven't Met Ramona :: Miel seems to like his "new friend" and even went so far as to share a cookie with her. She's rather quiet, and though her mercurial moodiness confuses him, he takes comfort in her prescence. Warren :: Haven't Met Kamu :: Briefly saw when he met Iole, however Kamu didn't dig herself from the bag she was in until he had started zoning out.

Cryptic, buggery place, the House. It had toyed with him, and later called to him to place Miel in his care...and now, well..it watched him. Perhaps it was observing to see that he was good to the child, but it was damned disconcerting to the russet kitsune's senses.
He'd had Miel a very short time, but already the kit was highly attached to him. Miel's eyes would swim back in to focus and he would raise his chubby little arms, wanting to be held - or he would drag the octopus plushie "Octi"around by one of it's many legs.
Miel was certainly special - sometimes, Syrie caught the child babbling at nothing at all, or the kit's ears would perk as though he heard something call to him; even when he himself could hear nothing at all. The child would smile, and then go back to playing.
They had not left the House together, though Syrie had taken off for a few hours to go purchase some items for the child; coming home with a pull-duck, the octopus plushie, several extra blankets, and a few warm outfits for the kitten. It felt strange to him to "argue" with a building, but he - like others before him - found it necessary if he wanted to leave.
And so life went on.

Syrie and Miel curled together in one of the beds provided by the House for them. The kitling and the kitsune shared a bed at the moment, mostly because Miel didn't want to sleep alone. He heard things in the dark more than he did when it was light - and there was always the chance that he'd fall out of bed and hurt himself. By sharing a bed, Syrie could curl around the child protectively, and help shoo away the "noisy things" that pestered the child before bed.
Miel made a small purling sound as he snuggled against his parent, tugging at the blond's shirt to indicate that he wanted a bed-time story or a song or something - anything really.
A very sleepy kitsune's tail flicked lazily under the warm blankets and his grey eyes were slightly rimmed with red, but tired as he was Syrie started humming a little bit, softly starting a song that his mother - was it his mother? who was his mother? - had sung to him as a child. A few stray thoughts concerning his origins and such flickered through his weary brain, but they didn't last long...like shaddows glimpsed fleetingly, they were forgotten almost as soon as they surfaced.
The raven colored kitten nuzzled at his bedmate sleepily, liking the song, he had no idea about the thoughts going through Syrie's head, nor did he really care - what mattered was that this song had his attention. He didn't hear the "voices" right now. The "noisy things" weren't around. It was calm, perfectly quiet save for the sounds of the House settling in, Syrie's silky-soft voice, and their breathing. Calming sounds. Good sounds.
Miel fell asleep there in the circle of Syrie's arms, Octi tucked against his chest just as he was tucked against the blond.

Your Task
Miel's room has suddenly grown colder, spookier. Things move when they shouldn't, and items aren't where Syrie placed them last. Constant music is drifting in and out of hearing, and objects seems to float in midair now and then. There are cold spots as well. You must find out what ghost is haunting Miel's room, by looking at the House's history in its library. Once you find out WHO is haunting, you must then get them to leave.

For the third day in a row, Syrie straightened up the room he shared with his charge. Miel wasn't making messes and leaving them - No, it wasn't the kitten's doing. Many strange things had been happening in the room. Cold spots, sounds when nothing was going on...items moving, items floating...all signature work of poltergeists.
Sensitive as the kitsune was to the spiritual realm, he'd understood almost immediately what was going on. The room was haunted. How or why, he didn't know, but he'd had the strangest urge to visit the library - Syrie was quite certain this was a suggestion planted into his subconcious as he slept by the House itself - and he made up his mind to take Miel today. The sooner they figured out what was going on, the better - the prescence didn't seem bad, but...one never knew.
The kitsune sighed and put the last book away, only to have it float up again, pages flipping due to an unseen hand.
"Very cute..." He sighed softly; when they got back, he was definitely going to have to put the items away again. "Alright Miel, let's go." Syrie picked up his charge and cradled the child against his chest, shaking his head a bit as he shut the door behind him. "Hopefully, I can find the library...House, you want this child safe, so can we please not get me terribly lost this time?"
Miel giggled a bit, clinging to Octi by one of it's well chewed tentacles. He knew where the library was, the House had told him. But he couldn't tell Syrie, and honestly...it was more fun to watch the red fox being frustrated and poofy. Miel also tended to be careful, because he saw and heard things that were good and bad, and sometimes he couldn't get the bad to leave if it knew he actually could see/hear it.
They moved down the hallway and through the massive maze of corridors; Syrie following the mental "map" he seemed to have been given, and hoping that the House would allow him to find the Library without too much trouble. The wretched building seemed to take particular joy in harassing him.

"Well..that wasn't so bad, now was it Miel?" Syrie's tail swished behind him as he moved to open the doors to the library - before he could touch the door, the House did it for him; the heavy double doors swinging in slowly; offering admittance.
Miel yawned and curled up more against Syrie's neck, thub in mouth, Octi firmly in hand. His little tail curled around his parent's arm, though he said nothing. They'd been walking around for almost two hours - with a pause to fetch some milk and meat to eat when they'd stumbled across the kitchen. The kitten had been hungry, and so the House had steered them back towards the kitchen.
The kitsune moved forward through the door quickly, mindful of his tail lest the House slam the door on it. "I wish I knew what to begin looking for..." Syrie's ears flicked a bit as he went deeper into the library, looking at the dusty bookends as he went, hoping that something would stand out at him - give him some sort of idea what the hell was going on.
A few books seemed to have some rather interesting titles - and he made a mental note to come back for them, but nothing seemed to pertain to his quest; still, Syie was not one to give up easily, if ever at all...and as such, he found himself pouring over text after text, using a notepad he'd brought from his room to write notes to himself using his own special form of shorthand to save space.
It didn't take long for Miel to curl up in a large cushy chair with Octi and fall asleep. He typically napped after eating, and this was boring. Syrie kept an eye on his charge as the hours rolled by; first one...then three...then six. Miel had started "helping" the moment he'd awoken from his nap, but he still found it very boring. He yanked at some of the pages in one of the books, elliciting a soft "no" from his parent.
"Books!"
"Yes, lots of them..." Syrie chuffed - at least with Miel here, he could keep his mind on why he was getting eyestraing: it was for Miel's benefit. And he had sort of made progress...he had several pages full of what appeared to be random notes... If he could find the "key" that tied it all together...then, maybe he could figure out who or what was haunting his room.
"We'll get something to eat in just a bit kiddo..Promise."
