A dull, sea beaten skip pulled into the docks at Honshu.
Jerro, the blue husky and orange specked Kuniku, hoped on to the harbor. He was grinning, ear to ear, and looking around for some one to explore with.

He panted heavily and trotted around the other ships, delivering fish, fruits and veggies. Jerro licked his lips, and went back to panting. He skipped around the bustling humans and birds, excited to be visiting some place new. Maybe he could find some experience fighting demons, since Jerro was hoping on joining the Tsumetai, the wandering pack of warriors.

Two purple and blue eyes peered out of the darkness of an alleyway. Silently hidden in the shadows, Shirin watched the hustle and bustle of the harbor. Her ears perked up as she watched the blue white and orange kuniku step off the hip, "Maybe he can help me" she mumbled, careful not to draw attention to herself. She had been stalking the harbor all day, looking for the right person to help with her problem.

And her problem? Shirin fancied herself an adventurer, she had been around the island of Honshue many times and reckoned she had been prettty much everywhere she could. But, Honshu was as far as she had gotten. Due to a crippling fear og large, open water, Shirin had never made it out of Honshu. However, she had always retained the notion that if someone went with her, she could do it.

After months of juggling around with this thought, Shirin had finally decided to act on it. This is what had brought her to the harbor. What better place was there to find a sea faring adventurer? While she knew that whoever she found getting off the boat wouldn't be ready to leave Honshu just yet, she was prepared to be their guide around the island, and hopefully they would let her go with them when they went to the next island.

Stepping out of the shadows, her white body flashed in the sun as she went over to meet the newcomer. Calming her nerves, Shirin fell into step next to the male Kuniku, her blue and purple striped tail swishing behind her. "Hello, I'm Shirin." She smiled up at the male, her tail slowing in anticipation.

A shine caught Jerro's eye. He turned on his heel to see the radiant white coat approaching him. Her smooth words floated into his ears like a warm wind. Jerro tightened his neck, bringing his nose towards his chest just a little bit. His fur was stiff and his tail was straight, unmoving. Jerro twitched his nose to the left and right- he judged the air around Shirin. It only took a second for Jerro to determine it was sweet and light. With that sign of peaceful intent, Jerro relaxed his muscles, and let the waves carry out his tension.
She smelled trustworthy, and Jerro's nose had never falled him in the past, so he greeted the beautiful female. "I"m Jerro!" He said through a warm smile. "I've just come over from Kyushu, my native land." Kyushu, the small green island over the ocean, was just a dot of foliage from the harbor. Still, delicious evidence of its culture was all over. Crates of Bananas were unloaded onto the dock, bright flowers and shell necklaces decorated small stands and shacks around the skiffs, fisherman greeted their friends with tasty yellowtail slices of sashimi. Jerro fluffed the fur on his chest out when mentioning his home land, as if to flaunt his tropical blood. His mind was nearly always in a state of vacation. Jerro shook his cowrie necklace and politely sniffed Shirin's neck.

Shirin saw the other Kuniku tense and felt her tail droop. This was the point that made or broke her plan to find a fellow explorer to accompany her, and it didn't look like it was going that well. Shirin tensed slightly, expecting the blue Kuniku to turn around and attack her. She knew her approach was stupid, how else did she expect a Kuniku in a new land to react to a random girl coming up to them? She looked up at him and prepared to apologize when she noticed he had relaxed. Breathing a sigh of relief, Shirin shot him a genuine smile.

"Nice to meet you" Her gaze wandered over to the small, green speck in the distance. "Is it beautiful there? I've never left Honshu before." She dipped her head, obviously embarrassed by this fact. She had seen the goods from kyushu and was always tempted to buy some of the shells, but she was too attached to her original necklace. She could tell he was proud of his heritage and felt a bit jealous. Sure, she loved her home land, but she had never been to somewhere as tropical or different as Kyushu. Feeling him sniff her neck, Shirin carefully leaned down and sniffed the top of his head in return.

Jerro's sniffing reached Shirin's necklace. "From your own homeland, I assume?" Jerro inquired. He paced a little and turned back to Kyushu. "It is, very beautiful there. Right now the rains are coming down pretty heavy, but if you can put up with getting drenched, it does make the colors of the plants 'pop' a little more." His smile faded when he saw Shirin dip her head. "I would love to show you, if you feel like putting up with rain." His voice wavered.
Kyushu's tropical rain varied from two extremes, torrential down poor, and a light mist. There was no way of telling what kind of storm the two of them would be greeted with, let alone what it could change into. Honshu, also, was starting to look a little stormy.
The way Jerro saw it, they had two options. Leave now before the harbor got any more hectic, and the waves, any more violent. Or, try to wait out what very well wouldn't even be the worst of the weather, here, on Honshu.

Her tail wagging slowly back and forth, Shirin smiled Jerro. "It was a gift from my friend, she's just a pup, but she's a real sweetie." Shirin watched him pace, only moving so she could stand in front of him again. "That sounds wonderful." She sighed, but this time it was a content sigh. Wide, open bodies of water may frighten her, but she never had a problem with rain, the way it sounded as it hit the ground had always calmed her. "I'm always up for rain but..." Her voice wavered as she looked up the clouds. "You, umm, you just got here, and... and I don't think it would be fair to you to drag you back to your own island without even exploring Honshu." She laughed a little. "It may not be a tropical paradise here, but it's still lovely."

Shirin would be the first to admit that her reasoning for not wanting to leave quite yet wasn't entirely selfless. She loved the rain but the possibility of a storm while they were out in a boat, with no where to go? That terrified her to no end.Besides, he really did need to see more of Honshu then just the harbor, it got a lot better.

"But really, it's entirely up to you." He was the one who would help her explore islands she'd never been to before, she couldn't scare him off yet, not before they relly got to know each other. Plus, she felt safe with him, his confidence radiated over into her and made her feel like she could overcome her fears, and she liked that.

"Oh I can see Honshu's loveliness," Jerro said. "I have a wonderful example standing right infront of me." He gave her a cheeky smile and led Shirin away from the Harbor.
Jerro wasn't an arrogant Kuniku. He had buckets of confidence, sure, but Jerro never meant to come off "cocky". He was just stunned by her beauty.
A shy little smile was plastered on to Jerro's face. He tried to pull himself together, collect himself and walk with a confident, straight face- but contorting his facial muscles just made him laugh. In a mild attempt at a recovery, Jerro arched his back and tried to appear tall next to Shirin. Still smiling, he asked her, "So, we will wait the storm out a bit in Honshu? Hopefully the worst of it won't also come here." Kyushu had been hit with heavy rain before, Jerro wasn't worried about his friends and banana trees back home. "There's no rush. We can explore around Honshu all we like. Know any adventurous places?"
Though it was just mid day, the sky was losing its light. Bits of dirt, leaves, and very mixed scents were being blown towards the Kuniku. Jerro walked as close as he could to Shirin, without tripping her. The debris continued to travel past them, leaving the two standing at the edge of the woods. The temperature dropped, and Jerro gave almost a violent shiver. He looked to see what his new friend would want to do with the possible threat of an approaching thunderstorm.

"Very cute." Despite the blunt tone to her voice, Shirin let out a small giggle, betraying how flattered she really was. "Well, I assure you, there are a lot better sites then me on Honshu." She grinned, bounding in front of Jerro as he started leading the way. She was the one who knew where she was going. "I think I'll take the lead here, if that's fine with you."

Shirin, on the other hand, was confident when it came to exploring and the lay of Honshu's land, but when it came to interacting with other Kuniku, she wasn't as sure footed. she was he was so nice, and pretty handsome too.

Shirin looked over at Jerro, giggling a bit as she watched him awkwardly try and look cool. "You know, you could just walk normally, you're already taller then me." Laughing quietly thinking over his next question before answering it. "Yeah, I think that's be best. Don't want to con you out of your chance to see Honshu." She answered finally, conveniently leaving out the part about her putting off the boat trip. "Yrah, I know plenty of them, I haven't lived here my whole life for nothing. follow me!"

All in all, it wasn't looking like a bad storm, lot's of rain, sure, but it wasn't going to get too nasty. with one last nuzzle of Jerro's shoulder, she sped up, her feet creating eddies of dust when they hit the ground. She called out behind her as she ran. "C'mon! this way! The spot's kind of far away, so let's make haste." she stopped a few feet away, dancing back and forth on her paws. She actually was glad she had found this particular Kuniku to travel with he was funny... and cute.

Jerro shook his neck, fluffing up his fur and filling his cheeks with air. He smiled and leapt forward, chuckling at Shirin. "I'm right behind you!" He laughed.
Jerro flicked his ankles out, lengthening his strides by pushing his feet further and further away form each other. He caught up with Shirin, and ran through Honshu's forest right up next to the beautiful Kuniku. He lightly brushed his shoulder against her's. He wanted to be playful, but he didn't want to accidently bounce Shirin into the bushes by "hip-checking" her with his shoulder. That would be embarrassing. "I'm right behind you!" he teased her. Jerro chuckled again and stuck his tongue out. The he pounded his paws against the soft ground and pushed ahead of her, just by half a stride. "Right behind you!" he taunted her and crept ahead another half a stride. He couldn't wait to find out where she was taking him.

Shirin bolted forward, her tail flying out behind her. "You'll have to move faster then that, fur ball!" She called out, streaming past him. It was too long since the last time she had done this, she relished the feel of the wind streaming through her fur. However, it was moments like these that made her miss her baby wings the most. This had nothing on the feeling of soaring through the air. (Even though she'd never gone that fast in the first place.)

Dodging a branch, Shirin felt the brief touch and smiled. She wrapped her tail around his briefly, matching her pace as closely with his as she did so, it wouldn't do for one of them to be ripped forward by her stupid infatuation with him. Untangling her tail, Shirin laughed, watching him pull ahead. "I think someone needs to teach you the meaning of 'behind' smart guy" Crouching down and wagging her tail playfully, Shirin pounced on him, causing them to tumble to the ground. Taking advantage of the element of surprise, Shirin stood over and licked his face. She did want to get to their destination, but honestly they were getting close and she was having too much fun to think about it seriously.

((KAAAAA-N YU FEEEAL, THE LOOOOOOOAVE TOONITE???))

Jerro looked back at her with wide eyes and an embarrassed frown. He looked left, looked right, then popped his head up and give Shirin a fat lick on her cheek. The wind had died down further inland, it didn't seem like now it would storm at all. Jerro pushed himself up and wrapped his arm around Shirin. Teetering on three legs, he stuttered in a diagonal line like a unbalanced man who drank too much sake.
"This place we're going..." he asked her with a courageous grin. "What is it like? Will there be other Kuniku?" He took his arm back and modestly stared at the beautiful girl before him. "Because..." He pawed the soft dirt. "Well, I kind of like spending time with just you." He perked his ears forward and smiled.
If Pacha were here, he would hit his friend for being so blunt. Hopefully Shirin wouldn't take his sincerity as being rude.
She was really cute after all... Jerro couldn't help but to flirt.

((DA PIECE THE EEVENING BREEEEEEEEEEEEENGS))

Shirin's eyes widened, he'd actually returned the favor? She wasn't expecting that, she was expecting to be thrown off and called weird. The White Kuniku was acting completely out of character, no way would she normally act like this, Kaigara wouldn't tolerate that. Shirin looked up and sniffed. "Hmm, the weather may actually become... nice"

Shrinking away slightly as she felt his arm wrap around her body, Shirin relaxed once she saw what he was doing. She laughed, relaxing a bit. "Dork..." Shirin murmured, her eyes twinkling with laughter. This boy really was hilarious... or just plain weird, depending on how you look at it.

"Well, 'this place' we're going happens to be my favorite place on the island. It's beautiful..." She sighed, she really loved this place. Her and Kaigara had stumbled upon it just a few weeks ago, after Kaigara had tripped and rolled down a hill and had only stopped when the pup had crashed through some bushes and into the lake behind them. "I really hope no one else has found it, that would mean Kai had revealed our secret, and she wouldn't be dumb enough to evoke my wrath." Her voice flitted over the last sentence, making it clear she possessed no 'wrath' of which Kai needed to fear.

Shirin listened to his next words, astonished. Did he really mean that? Honestly, it was moving rather fast for her... but with Jerro she for some reason didn't care. It seemed she was just as much under his spell as he was under hers. After a brief moment of hesitation, Shirin smiled back. Brushing her coat against his, she murmured softly in his ear. "Good thing we're here then huh?"

Pushing aside some branches with her nose, Shirin beckoned to the valley beyond them. This is what Shirin had always imagined a desert oasis to look like. The sun, finally peaking out from behind two clouds, illuminated the clearing. Beautiful low hanging trees clustered together, surrounding a small lake centered in what appeared to be a small crater. The water shone blue, crystals of light dancing across the surface while a few small fish (Shirin had never figured out where they had come from) broke through the surface and landed with a small splash back into he water. To the left side of the lake, there was a very trampled looking bush, obviously where Kai had entered only weeks before and on the right, a small quarry of rocks. True to her word, Shirin;s little slice of paradise was free of other Kuniku.

Shirin wondered slightly what had possessed her to take a random kuniku into her safe haven, but something about him made her trust him, maybe it was his smile, or the confident way he moved. She didn't know, but what Shirin did know is that she was glad she had showed him here.

Jerro stood close to Shirin. "This is paradise..." he whispered to her. A moment passed between the two of them, beautiful silence.

The birds started to chirp close to the Kuniku's ears, beckoning them to play. Jerro teased Shirin, "Well, beautiful for any place other than Kyshu." He grinned and shot towards the low branches of the trees that leaned so delicately over the surface of the water. Jerro nipped at their fresh leaves and took a full lap around the peaceful lake, before collapsing in the shade.

The ground was cool and the fish were lively. Jerro smiled and tried to catch his breath. His ribs shyly poked out when he took a deep breath in. He continued to pant and wait for the company of his beautiful Shirin.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 29, 2009 3:16 pm

Shirin rubbed against his flank, nodding silently at him, basking in the beauty of the moment. Her legs were aching to run, but she stayed still, not wanting to be the one who ruined the moment.

Shirin heard the birds start to tweet and it was getting to be too much, she shifted her weight from paw to paw, about ready to break away and start running. Preparing her leap away, Shirin's attention was captured by Jerro's voice. "Mmmhmm, I'd love to see that." She shot him a pointed look before running off in pursuit. Shirin slowed down as Jerro approached the water, and then stopped, circling the lake with him, but at a greater difference. No matter how many times she had came to this same spot with Kai, she had never managed to bring herself to go into the water. As she saw Jerro lay down, she carefully started forward, cursing her inane fear of water as she went.

Shirin flopped down next to him, letting her head rest on his. Shirin felt him breathe deep, and realized that her heart was beating equally as fast. "Mmm." She sighed, letting her eyes close slightly, reveling in the moment.

(They're so cute, haha, I wish I were them. -goes to hunt down Boyfriend- "CUDDLE WITH ME.")
Jerro bashfully smiled when Shirin's head touched his. When she sighed, he tucked his chin against her soft shoulder. A beautiful scent rose off of Shirin, jerro closed his eyes and stored it in his memory. He had always had a tendency to act like a little bit of a charmer, but Jerro had never experienced romance. He was too happy he just... didn't know what to do with himself!

A small peach colored bird swooped down and picked a bug off the surface of the pond. Fish fed on the same circle of insects, their big dopy mouthes taking in gulps of bug filled water. Jerro chuckled at their oddness. "The fish are enjoying the water, would you want to go for a swim?" He nuzzled against her and asked. "My beautiful kuniku?"
