User Image None-Left wandered between the trees, weaving around one side of this tree and around the other of that one. His mind was in a million places all at once. He was trying to figure out what he felt like doing today, but nothing sprang to mind. Well, that's not true. A lot of ideas popped up in his mind, but none of them appealed to him very much. And so he wandered.

There! Something had darted off to the right! And without a thought, he ran off after it. It was just a blur of movement in his eyes, but it was running away from him, and therefore had to be something he could catch. Now this was all that took up space in his mind. Nothing but this little blur that he was trying to get a clearer look at.

Dune was running, his hooves pounding a frantic beat against the sodden ground. He had awoken in the deepest heart of the swamp, and frankly, he hated it. The sticky air, the drops of water always falling, regardless of whether it was raining or not, not to mention the mosquitoes. He had awoken to this nightmare, and rather childishly, had decided to run. His mind told him to get out of this area in the fastest way possible, and thus, he fled.
In his blind haste to leave this wretched place behind he stopped paying attention to his surroundings. All he did was weave wildly between trees, trying to keep going as straight as possible.
In all his annoyance and confusion he did not notice the fast moving length of green that progressed faster than anything else. He ran straight into whatever it was, and the effects of impact were immediate. Dunes head swam, threatening to send him into unconsciousness, his ears rang with the force of the impact, and everything went dark. Right before his mind left him he felt an odd sensation, almost like the ground was dropping out from beneath him...
How odd...

THUD!

And he was on the ground. One second he had been running, chasing the elusive little creature of unknown origins. The next, he had run into something. Or someone, for that matter. He couldn't tell. All he knew was that now, instead of chasing, he was lying on the ground, a tangled mess. And it felt like he wasn't the only one in this furry knot.

His head was throbbing and his vision became instantly darker upon impact, and was slowly weaving into complete darkness before his eyes. He didn't know what was going on, and planned to find out... just as soon as everything stopped swimming... or was it all just floating happily?

Thu-thump. Thu-thump. Thu-thump.
It was the only noise that Dune could hear. It assaulted his senses, the only thing to hold onto in this world of liquid black.
iThu-thump. Thu-thump. Thu-thump.
There it was again, drowning out everything else, if there were even other things to be drowned. It was insistent however, never ceasing or slowing.
Thu-thump.
He finally gathered his wits about him. The noise was his heart-beat, thudding in his temples. With this simple deduction sensation slowly returned, and he wished it hadn't. His body began to locate all of his aches and pains, letting him know he was injured by way of throbbing pain. He groaned, just once, hoping in vain it would help, it did not. He lay still for one more moment, categorizing all his appendages, everything seemed in order. He was badly bruised, but that seemed to be the worst of it. Carefully Dune started pulling his left back hoof free of whatever it was encased in. It came slowly, tugging painfully on.. fur and skin? it got wedged in between two harder bits and he ceased pulling. Was he stuck on bone?
Blearily he opened his eyes, hoping they could sort out this mess. All he could see was darkness, with thin beams of light piercing though a hole. This made no sense to Dune, who was busy wondering where all the swamp went, and also if he would ever be free of this tangle.

Thunk. Thunk.
A low moan escaped his lips when his head hit the ground for the second time. Something was wedged between his chin and chest, and it was pulling back and forth. None-Left was now concious again, thanks to whatever was stuck in here with him. He opened his eyes gingerly as he tried to check all of his limbs with a small twitch. They were all there, hurting, but all there. His eyes didn't manage to help him very much, at least not until he looked up.

There was a hole up above them, a very shiny one at that. Must have fallen through that... down to here? He attempted to look around him, and having lifted his head, found that it hurt the most. Now whatever had been stuck between his face and chest could move, and so he attempted to pull himself out of the way. Something else was also pressed up against his side, and there was something resting on his rump.

None-Left decided to start with his forelegs. He stretched them out and then pulled them underneath his chest, turning into an upward-lie-down position. He then realized that the thing up against him was alive. He could hear it's heart-beat, and so instead of standing up like he was going to, he glared at the mass next to him, waiting for his eyes to adjust to the light so he could identify it.

Dune groaned as he felt his leg wiggle free, he withdrew it as fast as he could, glad to reclaim his appendage. He heard rustling beside him and felt struggling bodyparts. Feeling them flailing against him he groaned again, the pressure exerted by them making his bruises sing bloody murder.
He felt some of those gangly limbs pull away and he sighed, he had some room to work now. Carefully and gently he pulled all of his legs in, at the same time rolling onto his back.
Dune ended up looking like a rather large, sandy turtle flipped on it's back. His legs were pulled tight against his body as he faced straight upward. He stared at the hole in the ceiling, like it could anwer all his questions. All the while his heart continued to beat;
Thu-thump.
Thu-thump.
His only thought I don't look so good, I hope it's not a doe with me...

With a little bit of time, his eyes adjusted to the light and he could see once more. A figure slowly came into focus and at first None-Left couldn't make head or tail of the sandy mass on the ground next to him. He stretched his neck towards it and sniffed and just as he did so, he realized what it was. He scrambled to his feet, tripping over one hoof, then another, before he managed to stand upright.

A buck! It's another buck in here with me!

Panic was the first emotion, but it was quickly quenched with the anger that built up inside of him. That glare made it's way back into his eyes as he stared down at the mass of limbs at his feet.

This is all your fault! The young buck said accusingly. There was no other reason for this, it had to be the other's fault. He'd never fallen into a hole before, so it couldn't possibly be his fault.

Dune's eyes squeezed shut as an accusing voice attacked his senses.
So it is another male, atleast no ladies will see me in such an undignified position.
Realizing that regardless of females in the area, he was still sprawled on his back, looking rather foolish.
He made his way to his feet, anger drawing lines across his brow. Taking time to study the other male Dune realized that he had a short fluffly-looking tail Like a bunny.. That's weird
He was also a deep, emerald green, with dark markings streched down his body. The colt looked almost like he was camofluaged.
My fault?? How is it my fault? You're the reckless kid running all about like a moonstruck mongoose. You should be more careful, and watch where the hell you are going!
Dune's brow was furrowed with annoyance and anger, his upper lip slightly raised to reveal a slip of teeth. A warning to the younger Kimeti, or simply a show of frustration?

A loud snort escaped None-Left when the buck started ranting. As if it could be his fault! The male curled his lips back, and though he was quite a bit taller than None-Left, he proceeded to return his own growl. He bared his teeth, fangs glinting in the single ray of light that fell down upon the two kimeti.

Well if you had watched where you were going, we wouldn't have collided and fallen into this wretched hole! I was trying to catch myself dinner, and almost caught it, too! Why were you running? Did Sandy see something scawwy? The colt taunted the older male, moulding his r's into w's in a childish jeer.

His tail twitched back and forth in annoyance and his ears pulled back in a show of anger. He narrowed his eyes and scrutinized the buck as he reacted to his jeering.

Dune rolled his eyes at the petulant child standing before him. He was an adult, he should not be subjected to such abuse, especially from a half-bunny mutant!
Hunting you say? Well that must have been a very speedy carrot indeed! Life for a little cotton-tail must be so difficult. I am so very sorry to have obstructed your extremely important day
One could practically see the sarcasm dripping from Dune's mouth. He shifted his weight lower, while raising his head to look falsely unguarded, he grunted in annoyance and raised an eyebrow.
Now what am I supposed to do? Maybe I can beat the snot out of this child and use his carcass as a step-up?
With this macabre thought Dune shifted is mind back to the colt, waiting for the volley of insults to be returned.

A low growl escaped his lips at the older male's insults. He also lowered his center of gravity in response to the other's stance, watching him carefully.
Well I'm sure a pile of sand like yourself doesn't spend much time hunting, as you're still being defensive. Why were you running?

As he spoke, he let his gaze wander about their surroundings, of course while still glancing back at the stranger to make sure he wasn't going to strike. They were underground, obviously. And there was a hole up above them that allowed a little bit of light through, but it was much too high for them to reach, even if they were to stand on one another's backs. There had to be another way out of here and away from the insolent buck across from him.

Dune's eye twitched, just once. He mentally sighed, still annoyed by this silly little colt.
I was making my way back to The Flatlands in a timely manner. This... A twisted sneer formed on his face.
Place is as horrendous as I can imagine, why anyone would stay here is beyond my comprehension. Well, I was leaving but then someone got in my way.
He took a reflexive step forward.
Now this was stupid because one; the other Kimeti would see it as aggression, and annoyed as he might be Dune was not looking for a fight; and two, he had absolutely nowhere to go. This unfortunate step did however, prove useful, for his hoof kicked a stone that went skittering down an as-of-yet unseen tunnel.
Dune stopped in the middle of his comment, a muttered insult involving the other Kimeti's mother and a large, green rabbit, as his eyes flicked to where the stone had disappeared.

Well that someone would be just as happy to...
He stopped mid-sentence to lower himself even further so that he could react to the other's movement. The buck had stepped forward, so without really thinking, None-Left assumed it was an attack and launched himself forward to shoulder the buck with all of his weight. But even as he left the ground, the pebble made it's way out of his vision but could be heard tumbling down what appeared to be a tunnel to his left.

Impact. And right after, the instinct to run towards the tunnel that was his only current chance at escape. He didn't know if the other male had meant to attack or not but it was done now, and he ran as fast as his legs would take him into the tunnel rather blindly.

A surprised growl slipped from Dune as the other, and might he add, smaller and less attractive buck bludgeoned into his side. His initial instinct that involved snarling and viciously biting was cut off as the colt turned and bolted in the other direction.
You cowardly little cretin! Get back here and finish what you started!
And so their adventure continued as it began, with two foolish males careening about like madmen.
Dune's hooves slipped ungainly over large stones and sent a good deal more flying, but all he could think of was catching the creature before him. He was entranced the the dark green streak that led him further into the bowels of the earth. All other thoughts consumed with the blinding rage and indignation he felt.
Attacking! ME! How dare that minuscule, freaky-eared, gangly legged idiot attack me?!
Further the two weaved down through the twists and turns, all light being leeched away by distance and hidden behind the damp stone walls.

The younger male was far too busy tearing down the tunnel, putting all of his strength and energy into his legs to pump them faster. Even though he was shorter than the sandy buck behind him, he had a head start, and his pace was faster, so he kept his place in first easily, having to predict the corners and twists and turns by the slight inclines and declines in the rock beneath his hooves.

An insult was thrown at him, but he was too focused on getting out of this place and being rid of the stupid sand-buck that had made him fall into the hole in the first place. He would have had lunch by now if it hadn't been for the impotent sandhill! His lips turned into a snarl just thinking about it, but as he continued to run it suddenly began getting lighter. There! He could see the end of the tunnel! Bringing his head down lower, the colt put on a burst of speed to get the hell out of there and away from the smelly outsider.
