Quote: The Giants and Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning are on the verge of completing a blockbuster six-year contract extension, FOXSports.com has learned. The two sides are still tweaking some details of the deal, but the team is hoping to have the deal done Wednesday, barring any major setbacks, a team source says. Manning, who was drafted first overall in 2004, is entering the last year of his rookie deal. The new agreement will tack on six additional years and $97.5 million, with $35 million guaranteed. The deal will make the 28-year-old the highest-paid player in the history of the Giants organization as well as the highest-paid quarterback (per year) in NFL history, a figure Giants fans would probably not argue with. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9896536/Eli,-Giants-on-verge-of-6-year,-$97.5M-extension What are your thoughts on this?

Eli Manning is a pretty good QB. I, personally, like Drew Brees better. But Eli is still a damn good player, and worth the contract.

I dont care who the player is, but nobody is worth that much ever. But good for him, he is now going to be paying even more taxes than ever expecially with that money he is now making.

Not an Eli Manning fan but good for him. he's taken them to the playoffs the last 4 years and has a ring to show for it. I always thought he was too inconsistent but last year he brought his interceptions down so maybe he can get past the turnover bug. You guys realize he is now making more annually than Peyton?

I agree with Vegito. Nobody should be making that much in the NFL nowadays. But, he is a good QB and deserves a 6 year deal, but not worth that much.

Itachi-Uchiha-Sama00 I agree with Vegito. Nobody should be making that much in the NFL nowadays. But, he is a good QB and deserves a 6 year deal, but not worth that much. Exactly. Only people that should make that kind of money are honest hard working doctors who go out and save lives every day

He will last as long as his Coach will last.

The dudes got even more pressure on him than last year. suna1100 is right. I don't think he'll last the whole 6 years.

I believe that he shouldn't have gotten that much money. I could care less about the years but when your getting 95 million and with how he plays without Plaxico its just stupid. He's get more than Peyton and T.B.
