(( This is an AIM log between Polette [Mauja] and Seaki [Mufasa] ))
PostPosted: Tue Aug 04, 2009 3:11 pm

Mufasa yawned. Days like today were lazy days, but it was time to move on. His feet dragged on the ground and the sun was high in the sky. He grumbled and cursed what ever god decided to make it a warm, sleepy afternoon. It took him all morning to decide to get up.

The annoyibng heat of the sun burned on his dark coat, but cooled his light paws. It made him agitated and annoyed, but he sighed and kept his lagging gait.

Another night, another girl. It seemed that that was what Mauja's life had turned to. He missed the sight of his beloved, and the only way to keep from going insane with loneliness was to take on some suitable company for awhile.

Well, there were his cubs, but they were always sleeping when he was most active. Besides, he still hung around their mother, and as fun as she could be, he was used to wandering.

He wasn't far from his family when a familiar scent filled his nostrils. Lion. Mauja wasn't in the mood for a rough encounter, and really debated turning around and heading back right then and there.

Mufasa gave another wide yawn and pondered just laying down and taking a nap. He gave a huff and sat. Was it really worth it right now, when he was so tired, to cut the ties to this place. Sure, he would come back to this spot later in life, but he'd wonder if he was ever there.

After all, things did change over time, and he hated staying in the same spot for too long. But today, he just didn't want to go. It wasn't like he had any special ties to the place. He didn't grow up there, he never had a lover, and he didn't have cubs. It didn't make sense for him to want to stay.

With a sigh, he started to groom the dust and old blood off of his paws. He had gotten lazy in his stay in the place.

He was depressed and didn't know it...

He thought about it, but Mauja ended up letting his curiousity get the better of him. He knew what kind of trouble this lion could bring; they all gave him trouble.

Except one.

Though that day did seem a little strange, Mauja quite enjoyed the time he spent with the kind lion. If only he could remember his name, he might go looking for him some day.

Trotting forward a ways, Mauja could see a darkened pelt bulging above the tall grass. It seemed similar, but...Mauja was never quite sure. Still, he neared it, with only a tiny voice in the back of his head telling him to turn around.

With one paw nearly clean, Mufasa paused, raising his head. A frown adorned his gray maw. His mind was blank, and he faintly knew he should be troubled, but he didn't think on it.

A small sound echoed in his ear - the sound of russtling grass. His brown-eyed gaze turned to the origin. He recognized the cheetah - he only met two - and this was one of them. Mauja, his mind supplied.

He decided to call out. "Hey Mauja... I didn't think I'd see you so soon."

"M....Mufasa?" Mauja felt strange. Normally, he dispised lions, and felt anger towards them. Or, he felt the compelling urge to flirt with them. With this one.....he felt nothing. No hatred, no attraction. But somehow, he liked it. He felt he could trust him.

"Did you just not want to see me so soon?" He walked closer, laughing as he did. His muscles were relaxed, and he dropped his head down, a mellow look on his face. Lowering himself on the ground next to the large lion, he flipped his mane around, shaking off some dust that had settled.

A rumbling chuckle emitted from the lion's throat. He shook his head. "That's not what I meant..." Mufasa told the lithe cheetah that looked kind of pitiful with the mellow look upon his face. "I just didn't expect to see anyone really. I've never come across anyone twice," A frown crossed Mufasa's grey dusted maw and his let himself drift down next to the chocolate cheetah.

"It must've been fate, my dear." He moved his paw on top of the Mufasa's massive paw, staring at him with the usual smirk. "Or some god just really really hates you." Mauja laughed, flicking his tail back and forth in the grass. The wind was still, so the grass just took the beatings.

"So what has the only-male-lion-I-don't-hate been?" He cocked a brow at the lion, eyes looking up into his.

The lion shook his head with another deep chuckle. "Fate..." he mumbled, but shook his head to shake away depressing thoughts. He was never like this, why now? Maybe it was the first lion he killed, or the intense training his adopted mother put him through. Maybe it was having to put young cubs through hell and back, just because they were slaves. He didn't know. The guilt was intense, but did it all chalk up to fate?

"I don't know, I've had to much time to think..." He confessed. Thinking always made him depressed, or worried. He was trained not to think those thoughts. "The only, though? I'm flattered," Mufasa said seriously, glancing into Mauja's red-orange eyes for a moment. "What about yourself?"

Mauja nodded a bit. Listening had always been his strong point, especially since it was the ticked to a female's den. Thinking, though, wasn't as strong. "I guess I'm too impulsive to have time to think." A small smirk appeared in the crease of his mouth, but it wasn't overpowering.

"I've been....busy....." He laughed, thinking about what exactly he had been 'busy' with. It wasn't anything overly important, just reproducing so the world would be filled with his amazing spawn. Ah, such a beautiful world that would be. "What can I say, I have a way with the ladies."

Mufasa blinked. Busy? Like...? Oh, wait. He knew. Like his father had been... Mufasa quirked a smile. He could never understand the point? He was rather simple - he didn't think too much of carnal desires. A chuckle once again escaped the throat of the amused lion. He guessed Mauja could just cheer him up by just talking. "Too impulsive, indeed," He told the other male.

"Yeah, things just kind of...happen." Mauja wasn't actually one to go out looking for girls to have a little fun with. They sort of just....found him. And things just.....happened. "I just can't help it, I suppose. It's in my nature, in the way that I talk-- that's what draws them to me." He squeezed his eyes shut, feeling like a young teen who's been sleeping around.

He had to admit, though, that he didn't feel the same emotions he felt when he was with his mate. Now she was special to him, though he knew that he could really hurt her with the way he acted. But....

Mufasa shook his head a bit. "Mauja, Mauja..." Despite the 'scolding parent tone' his facial features said other wise. "How many children do you have then?" Fasa questioned teasingly. He let himself roll a bit to the side so his white belly had a little sun light. "What brings you out here again, Mauja?" He asked lightly, looking up to the blue sky.

"I just have.....a few." Mauja hadn't really thought about the number. He just enjoyed the love that was shared. "I suppose it's....over ten?" His eyes flicked to the side, and a small smile arose on his maw.

"I've just been wandering around these days. You know, before I really stay home for a long period of time." It was true, that no matter how much he loved his mate, he just couldn't stay in the same place for too long. So he made trips that would last many many moons, just so he could spend extra time at home. "I see you haven't moved much." It wasn't an insult, more of just a statement. It was rare that Mauja found others that stayed in the same place whenever he saw them.
