Gote'Cha, the hills. Steep in height, they test the wits of those strong and brave enough to venture into the lands from the Southern side. Like Kilango'Ta, the Hills host a sort of discomfort for the Kusiner's.
Lying at the bottom of the grassy hills, are a few rock dens. The Head huntress and her apprentices stay here, since it is the closest of dens to the hunting grounds.

Uumi's lanky frame moved through the grass with a natural, slow, grace. His crimson fur stood out very much so with the yellow-greens of the kusini grass. Who knew why he was in the hunting grounds, perhaps to get away from something. Or rather, some one? Or even a family of someones!
His ears were pressed lightly against his skull, the black fringe of a mane tossing about his face as a lively breeze swept past. He sneered lightly and tossed his head, what an annoyance manes were. He was just happy his wasn't fully grown.
He continued to make his climb up one of the larger hills, his sides beginning to heave as he got nearer the top because he was starting to have trouble breathing. It was pathetic, and it pissed him off to no end. As he got toward the very top his gaze flicked over the hill, he was panting now. Hmm, that looked like a good spot. He mandered over toward a few of the bolders who'd made a home of the hill top and lept onto the largest, hunching over a moment to let out a few coughs.
A nice resting spot, he decided. He slowly sat, his lanky frame easily visable from most points close by. His maw was tipped slightly up, his gaze on the clouds. It was funny such a bitter, young, male like Uumi spent his time watching things, seeking to see the beauty in things. Not that you could tell that he was watching the clouds to see their beauty, but that was what it was plain and simple.

The shadow of the night crept through the grazzy plains of the Kusini lands, her blue eyes catching sight of various features her old land had to offer. From the center of the whole pridelands you could see everything in all directions, but that was only a meager portion of what the Gote'chas could offer. The moutainlike hills gave you a bird's eye view of the land, and even tidbits north of the forest, and south of the hills.
The lanky red lion could be seen staggering up the steep hills, and faintly could be heard in his coughing. Ari's grandson must've recieved that sickness from him, even though it was minor in the most part. She frowned slightly; Sure she wasn't particularly found of this lion but he was sick, and whether she liked it or not, he was considered family.
Slowly creeping upwards, she followed the former prince, watching him through the sky blue eyes. Once at the top, she sat near the slope, casting her gaze past the lion, and to the land further south. Beaches and other magnificent features lied just yonder the horizon. "Enjoying the view?" She asked quietly, the air a little more cooler up here.

He flinched, hearing her voice and sneered to himself. You couldn't get away from these lions, could you? Well he could leave... His gaze flicked away from the clouds and wondered over toward Ari. "No." He replied, sounding completely truthful about it. But the first time he'd visted this place, he had been younger and it had been a breif visit.. he'd told Sye that these lands were beautiful, even more beautiful than his own home.
But he'd never admit that again, certainly not. "I was watching the sky simply to be doing something, your majesty." There was something taunting in his voice, an amusement he couldn't surpress if he tried. His tail flicked and he let his eyes quickly dart away from her, he really didn't mean to sound teasing. His words just came out more easily when they had implied hurt behind them.
"Is there anything you need, then?" He asked, trying to get his voice to stop sounding so much like he was being an a** on purpose.

The frown increased, causing Ari to glance at Uumi momentarily before stepping towards the other end of the hill's peak opposite of what she had come up. She shrugged lightly, sitting with her back turned to the crimson male. "Not everyone does, though I don't see why. But then again, I am completely biased of these lands, for they were my homelands." She told the pridelander, though he probrably didn't care about it.
"If you want something to do, go play with Taabu? Or does Syeira not let you near him?" Or more like did Asi not let him near him? It was something to do, was it not. Her voice was calm, and remained soft even though bits of anger were beginning to peak through.
Shaking her head, the charcoal lioness glanced over her shoulder, "Can't they that I do. My children are sleeping, probably along with my mate as well. Thought I go for a small hunt, but changed courses once I heard you roaming up the hill. Just making sure you were okay." She said to him, a small smile peering across her lips before turning her head back around, the wheat tail flicking every now and then.

His eyes narrowed increasingly with her little speach. "I didn't say I wanted something to do." She was twisting his words, that wasn't fun. Ever. He got enough of that from Syeira. He thought quite a lot about the female, did he not? Besides, he wasn't ready to play with that little cub. Hell, he barely even remembered Taabu had a name.
His tail flicked annoyidly behind him. "I don't need to be checked on." He stated in a sulky, childish manner. Like he was some kind of poor healthed lion or something! Blood and ashes, Uumi was difficult.

"No need to get worked up," She stated rather simply, moving to stand and stroll down the hillside opposite of the Kusini lands. It had been a while since she had been on this side of the territory, maybe a trip to the sandy beaches would be good for a small trip for the day. She stopped, standing slanted on the slope glancing back at Uumi.
"Have you had no one else to watch you, or ever look after you apart from your twin sister?" She asked cautiously for a moment. "Maybe you should allow those who try to help you around you, it's probably a better feeling then being alone and sulky all the time." She left her words to linger in the air. She was headed for the ocean, a place where she could lounge around for a bit basking in the sun.

He snorted, and would have replied... except that she started to walk away! Well, he wasn't about to let his side of the arguement be nonexistant. He lept from the bolder, scrambling quickly after her. His breathing coming up in a wheeze, but he ignored it for now. He hissed at her back, queen or not she should at least wait to hear what he had to say. I guess he didn't like getting treated how he treated others. "That isn't the point. The point is i am not in need of other's care or watching." He snarled out, tail lashing behind him.
He wanted to shout at her that of course others looked after him, even if he didn't want it! But the only other he could think of was his mother, and that was a mother's job. So in a sense it didn't really count, Kiuma looked after him because she wanted to. As much as he didn't want her to, sometimes. And Syeira watched over him, when she was around anyways. Or when she wasn't trying to make him have a breathing attack, come to think of it. "And some lion's happen to enjoy being alone, it's much more calming and.. peaceful." Yes, then why was he following after Ari at all? And why hadn't he mentioned the sulky bit? Interesting.

"Isn't it though?" She questioned at his first question before he went into an explantion. "You are not in the need of another, or you just don't want to be watched out for by another? Either answer is exceptable in your case." The queen shrugged, moving a little more avidly as she left the base of the hill.
"Are you one of those lions that like to be alone?" She asked him, passing a few trees here and there, the grassy plains turning sandy and a bit warm. The beach was close; she could almost hear the sounds of gulls flying over the salty ocean in packs, fishing and swimming.

Well. He knew he needed to be watched by another, protected by another. But when it wasn't Kiuma it was... well, it just seemed wrong. He could take care of himself. So perhaps he should leave the question unanswered? Or lie! "Both. I am not in need and I do not want to be watched by another." He stated, rather smugly. What did she mean by either answer being acceptable? The smug look slid off from his features and the grouchy look was back.
He thought about her question for a moment, seriously. Did he just tell himself he liked to be alone? "Sometimes the right company is acceptable. But it is very hard to come by. So yes, I like to be alone more often than not and I'm sure most others appreciate that fact." His gaze flicked to the sky each time he heard a seagull, he'd never heard a seagull before. It made him a little uneasy, to tell you the truth.

If she was looking back at him, she'd probably snicker at his facial expressions right now. But instead she kept her sight on the land just past the horizon, over the small hill. She stopped, looking at him for a moment before proceeding. "Am I the right company?" She asked him, wondering why the hell he was still following her if he was going to be a moody git.
She walked up the small hill compared to the Gote'chas. Not more than 100ft away roared the ocean waves hitting the white sandy beaches. Few white gulls with black heads poked at the sand and swooped in the water. She grinned, giggling a bit as the mist from the ocean sprayed towards them.
"Ever seen a beach before?" She questioned softly to the male, walking slowly oever to the salty waters.

Was she the right kind of company? No! Oh wait.. perhaps she was wondering why he was still following her. So he stopped dead where he was, vaguely aware that the ground didn't feel... right. It wasn't some intense thought though, so he payed it no mind. "The right company? A pity, but no." He snorted. Actually, that almost had a joking tone to it, one of his more friendly tones with the joke as opposed to his jerky tones of joking.
"No." He replied simply, gaze flicking around. Oh! That's why it felt so weird... sand. How odd.

- - - - - Uumi yawned as he let himself pad through the hills of the Kusini lands, lands that he'd come very famaliar with. He'd actually gotten rather closs to the top. It was the best place to view the sky, besides pride rock. Sometimes it was actually nicer, but he'd never admit that out loud. Pride rock was beautiful, so were the lands surrounding it... but kuisin mwezi lands were also beautiful. Plus they were so diverse in their landscape, it was a little awing.
His crimson tail flickered back and forth as he reached the top, tongue lolled from his mouth and his lanky frame heaving in and out. It was a long walk, especially when the sun was bright. Uumi slowly layed down on the hill, back faced to the southlands. His crimson eyes were already drinking in the sky, but all that it brought in his mind was Syeira. It wasn't fair that she had to have such blue eyes, just like the intense blue of a sky on a light-cloudy day. Though more often than not they were very hard, icey, blue eyes. Eyes that gave away nothing.
His gaze suddenly dropped to the lands, a low gasp almost choking the breath out of him. He didn't like being in love very much, it seemed to make him a fool. Not that he hadn't always been a fool, but this type of fool was different. He'd figured that a fool in love was the king of fools. He also knew he'd grown so foolish that he wouldn't trade this hated feeling for anything in the world.

Bari trudged up the hill. Since her and Mbali had arrived, her aches and pains from the zebra stampede made her cringe in every step. She needed to see someone, someone who coul dhelp her. Limping a lot, the female made it to the top, not even glancing at her surroundings. Instead, she just collapsed on the ground. Good, no one was up here. She needed time by herself. It was something she hadn't gotten ever since she was born.
Teal eyes closed tiredly as her tail attempted to curl besides her. It had managed to do so...but in a really awkward angle. However, the mocha pridelander had brought this on herself.
