Alastar limped out of his hut, excited about the day's classes. He made one last check that everything was ready, and waited for the students.

Persephone came down to the hut not long after Marduke. She was friends with most of the younger students, but it would be nice to be in a more specialized course to help her pass her N.E.W.T.'s.
She saw Marduke already at the hut, and the old professor was waiting. She smiled at them both when she reached the hut.

As students started to arrive, he leaned on his walking stick and took a notepad out of his pocket. He opened it and read wahat was inside. He put it away and said, "It seems that you two are my only NEWT students. So, take out your copies of Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, and turn to page 1, we can begin the lesson." he said with a smile.

Persephone smiled at Marduke when the Professor told them they were the only two. It would be awesome having a class with just Marduke.
She pulled out her book and opened it, eager to begin.

"Okay." started Alastar. "Today we will be working on Acromantulas. Can one of you tell me what Acromantulas are?"

"Half correct. Acromantulas are giant spiders, but they are not only native to the forbidden forest. Though the ones in the forest are the only colony in Britain, it is known that some live in France, Brazil, and even China. Either way, five points to Slytherin.

"Okay." said Alastar. "Make sure you get information and homework from your classmates later, or you might as well not come back at all. Now, before we begin," he said as he turned to the other student, "there are a few spells you should know before dealing with Acromantulas. The spells are basic enough that you should be able to do with ease. The incantations are, Impedimeta, Arania Exumai, and Incendio. Impedimenta will knock away your enemies, and Araunia Exumai will only work on spiders, but with the same effect as Impedimenta, only stronger. Incendio is a basic fire spell. Homework will be to practice these spells."

Persephone looked confused as Marduke suddenly walked away. But she knew this class was important, so she turned her attention to the professor. She nodded as he told her the spells. She knew Incindio and Impedimenta, and was able to do them well. The third was new to her, so she would have to practice it well.
"Is there a way for me to practice it here during the lesson? Or do you have something else planned, Professor?" she asked politely.

"I will be giving you smaller spiders to practice on at the end of the lesson." Alastar replied. "Now, Acromantulas." he walked around his hut, beckoning Persephone to follow and came to a large cage with a gigantic sleeping spider. "Acromantulas are capable of human speech. They originated in Borneo, where they inhabit dense jungle enviroments. It spins dome shaped webs on the ground. The females are the larger and can lay up to 100 eggs at a time. Soft, and white, the eggs are the size of beach balls. In six to eight weeks, the young hatch. Acromantula eggs are classified as Class A Non-Tradeable Goods by the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, meaning that severe penalties are attached to there importation or sale."
"Acromantulas are beleived to be wizard-bred, can you tell me one of two ways they are most comonly used?"

She was having a hard time taking her eyes off of the spider in the cage. They were truly horrifying to look at, and Sephie didn't even have a fear of spiders. She imagined meeting one in the forest, nothing but her wand to protect her....sometimes that's what being an auror required.
