Happy holy-days, everyone.
Charming of the Plough snuck up on me this year - I haven't even held Thorrablot yet wink
Do you have any plans? How will you celebrate?

Lughnasadh is one of my favorite Sabbats, though what I honor/celebrate is something completely different than most people do.
It is said that Lughnasadh is in honor of the funeral games that Lugh held for his foster mother, and in that spirit, this particular Sabbat is for honoring my mothers (my mother, my MIL, and my mom's best friend - who was like a mother to me all passed away in August). This year the Sabbat falls on the 11th anniversary of my mother's death, so it is even more meaningful to me.
I'll more than likely hold some sort of ritual, and though last year it ended up being a big cry fest, I'd rather it be more of a celebration of their lives. We'll just have to see how this year goes.

I'll actually be doing a similar sort of thing at the same time of year, for a change xd
Charming of the Plough is also Disting, where one honours the Disir, the female ancestors and spirits that watch over one's family. The term's actually quite wide as it encompasses the Norns as well, apparently.
I also honour Freyr and ask his blessing for the coming growing season, so that the farmers in my country will have a good harvest. (I mean, that's just sensible. We send food all over the world and a good harvest means cheaper food and it's good for the economy.) Personally I think he likes being the only male with a whole heap of female entities, but that's just me wink

Well my plans more or less when to crap. I've been sick for the last couple of days, and then at the last minute my son's friend came to stay with us (his parents had to go out of town for a few days), so any ritual I might have had planned more or less got pushed to the wayside. gonk
Except for the whole Christianity thing, I really think I could dig being a nun - all that time to spend on rituals and devotions, with no one to bother you. Sounds good to me at the moment.
