 Jacaranda sat by the edge of the sea, brushing out her lovely hair. A large tree cast shade over her, as sunlight ruined the skin, and if her nose went red she would have to hide for the rest of the winter.

"So are you just going to sit there all day and brush your hair?" Dryll stepped out from behind the tree, "Or are you going to introduce yourself?"

"Improving one's looks isn't boring," said Jacaranda. "I just think about other things. You look pretty enough without this work, but you could look nicer."

"So what, you think I need some sort of makeover?" Dryll snorted and rolled his eyes, "That'd be just what I need.. More reason for the herd to tease me. I'd be hearing names like Pretty Boy in addition to the pranks.

"I just meant if you cleared a few snarls out of your hair it would flow down more easily," she smiled and put down her brush. "I think about... nature. Simplicity and things.
"They're just jealous. Especially the girls."

"I don't think jealousy is what caused them to fill my pool with gelatin mix, and why would they be jealous in the first place?" he sighed and sat down near Jacaranda, "I mean I'm just some freak accident."

"I wanted to stay in Nightmare Valley, but Raven said I'd probably be better for me to stay where the others can't get to me," he chuckled, "You should have seen the look on her face when she saw me covered in gelatin. She completely freaked out. It took her a couple days to help me get cleaned up."
"I know for a fact that, to this day, she still won't touch eat Jello."

Jacaranda nodded compassionately. "It must be very hard. We are lucky that ur herd is situated in such a place that everyone is happy. Even the ones that got kicked out," she said in a low voice.
