Summer... Such a pretty time of the year.
The sun set high in the clear sky, the temperature was a little warmer than what would be deemed comfortable. For the dark mare walking casually through the meadow, the sun's rays always felt a little more intense. It wasn't a bad feeling though, especially as she reminded herself that winter would be here sooner than expected and she'd miss the long, warm, lazy days of summer.
The mare paused in her trek across the meadow to look up at the sky. It seemed endless. It was almost sad, and the somber mare sighed and removed her gaze from the sky to search for shade. Alas, she found none. "There has to be something..." She murmured to herself, her voice already a ghost of a whisper. She continued to toss her braid over her should and continued heading west. Noelle had only ventured out this far once, and she was sure there was a creek nearby.
If only the sound of water would reassure her.
