What's the difference between Anita & the monsters she hunts? Support your answer ninja

It would depend on which part of the series you are takeing referance from as to how far over the edge she has fallen. Towards the end, I would have to say that the only distinction between Anita and those that she hunts, is her distaste for killing / harming innocent people.

If your talking about the first few books- there is a big difference in morals, innocence, etc

If your talking about the last few: Not entirely sure anymore, maybe the fact that Anita is the narrator and she is somewhat-semi-human?

Musn't forget that she has sigmund!!! No evil monsters have stuffed penguins!

One can argue that fact... twisted

I heart my stuffed fowls, penguins included.

She doesn't drink blood.
She doesn't feast on the flesh of her kill.
She kills/maims to protect others.

The monsters she hunts, some of them drink blood and some of them feast on flesh, and when they kill they're usually killing for the sake of killing.

That's the biggest difference... She doesn't kill the monster for the sake of killing. She has a reason behind it, however poorly constructed that reason may be.

She fights the good fight... she just ******** a lot of guys along the way.

Plus, yes, she has Sigmund.

And for her drinking blood, depends on how you look at it, considering, she does draw blood on a few people and "drink" it during sex.

Yes, she now has to "feed" regularly. Even more so than most vamps.

She may be feeding off the dudes she's ********, but it's still basically just sex... Unless she does Nate twice in a row. That'd be killer, "******** to death". Heh.

Something tells me Nathaniel wouldn't mind one bit if that happened xd

I think the only difference between Anita and the monsters she hunts is her conscience. Well not only difference but the biggest these days.

The only thing that keeps her from going off the deep end is the fact that she's so afraid of doing so. BUT as the books go on and her powers grow it seems she has less control over what she does. The only thing helping is the "after the battle" guilt trip (TM) that she seems to be adopting from Richard every now and then. If for some reason she woke up one morning without an angel and devil on her shoulders I don't think she'd be any different from Belle Morte.

If Edward wasn't such a racist, I'd say he was more human than Anita but his hatred for all monsters is unmatched.

What do you all think of Olaf from Obsidian Butterfly?

The fact that she is still human is one. She is not a vampire nor lycanthrope; as we found out in Micah. She is the vampires servant and only a carrier to the disease. The fact she has supernatural strength is due to the fact she is in a trimutive with four other people, Jean Claude and Richard being one and Damian and Nathniel being the other.
