By the spirits this shady location was a blessing! And the day another living flame, the air so dry and hot all around that the lioness thought her skin would melt off any moment. So here she relaxed, in the high and meager branches of a lush tree located in the depths of the rougelands. It wasn't the finest tree around, but during this season it was the only descent plant she could find. The leaves were old, true, and their numbers few. But their size made up for that loss, and provided cooling shade to rain down on the pale femme's fur.
Now to just wait it out until the sun has set....
Muzzle gaping, Inija panted in precious air while resting her chin on the coarse wood. Just how much longer would this blasted quest last? If only she weren't so picky, she could easily find a new name and be done with it. But nope, not this lioness! If she was going to be called by one thing for life, well...that name had better be perfect! If not beautiful.
Orange eyes scanned her surroundings as her black puffed tail curled heavily below the branch like a lazy serpent. Hm, what could she afford to chase in this heat for a meal? Perhaps a young gazelle?....

Dhiren found himself venturing from his sister again. Which wasn't too rare. She'd sleep, and he'd wonder away. He'd always make it back before she woke up. Or if he didn't, she'd some how find him in the end. He wasn't too worried about it. He smiled as he bounced from one rock to another. Though, they quickly ran out. His fun had ended causing him to jump upon the grassy earth below. The heat didn't bother him as long as he didn't think about it.
He had noticed some trees that seemed like he needed to investigate them. They were odd set of trees, well not really. He just had to think they were odd set of trees. Indeed, yes. That'd keep his interested for now. Dhiren hadn't noticed the tree was occupied, since the occupant was in the tree rather upon the ground. Which, for the moment, he was looking at the leaves. Bending his head down, letting his fluffy mane hit the ground. He wasn't being too quiet approached the tree. Nope, he stepped on twigs, and some leaves.
Why did he need to be quiet? He thought he was completely alone. He wasn't really that observant when he was interested in things. Like the leaf he had now stopped to smell just because it was still green while the others upon the ground were brown and dead. It must have fallen recently. How interesting!

"Hey, you." Inija sneered down at the brown lion below, while twisting her tail around her branch. How dar he? She'd been up here relaxing and minding her own business when this stranger came along. Crushing the leaves and twigs on the ground, giving away not only his position but her own hiding attempts against prey. It bothered the lioness' nerves tremendously.
"If you have nothing better to do, then go explore another tree." She snuffed as she prowled across the narrow branch and jumped to a higher one. Just for added safety against the rogue should he have a meaner temper. Although....she did admit to hating being all the nearer to the hot sun above. And having said her opinion, Inija thought the encounter done and over with. Her ears flicked up as she scanned the area around her, noticing any meals to catch were moving further away.

Right before he was about to jump on another leaf, he paused at hearing a voice. One paw up in the air, since he liked to have one paw ready for the leap. Though He also had one back paw slightly up since he was in the middle of a sorta walk jump thing. His ears twitched a bit as he noticed the voice was coming above him. If he had known someone else was there, he wouldn't have dared made a sound in cause they'd get angry. For all he knew, she was sleeping. He looked up "Sorr--- ooof" He said while looking up, which happened to loose his balance. He hit the ground with a soft thud.
He started laughing. He couldn't help it. He should have been paying attention to his own feet, not to where the other was. But she could have pounced on him and tried to rip him apart. After the laughing stopped he was now upon his side. "Sorry! If I had known you were there, I wouldn't have bothered you so rudely, Miss."

Inija could only roll her eyes as the other made more noise while apologizing. Ugh, what a clutz. Pinning her ears, the lioness made her way down the tree, stepping heavily on each branch along the way. And even when she finally made it to the ground, the brown lion was still giggling almost madly. She only stood there with a slight frown as the adult turned and took note of her.
".......Miss? Are you calling me old?" What? What?! She could already feel her fur bristling if that's what he intended. Adult or not, she wasn't gonna take an insult lightly. "What do ya want then, furball?" D<

"Oh no no! Miss is just what I call any female. Mrs. would make it sound older" He tried to correct her before she decided to attack him. He looked a bit nervous now. Even if she was younger then him, or at least looked younger then him, he wasn't much of a fighter. It'd be very easy for him to get taken out, even by a smaller lion. "Please, I didn't mean to offend you, I just don't know your name."
He gave a weak smile up at her as he was still laying upon the ground surrounded by leaves. One or two had fallen on him from her way down to the ground, but he hadn't noticed them. He really hated when he offended others by accident. "I'm really not sure?" He said to her question. "I was just having a bit of fun while my sister slept, it seems I've lost her though." He said as he looked around. He was a bit farther then he thought he had ended up, but no matter. He knew what direction he came in.
"I'm Dhiren" He said politely. Hoping she'd change her attitude.

Inija smirked with a glint in her eyes. Heh, this fellow was amusing trying to nervously correct himself. To that end, the lioness let her temper shift down a bit while still eyeing the other. "Apology accepted then, I'm glad you spoke one so easily. And the name's Inija, for now. Use that for any future reference, hm?" She chuckled while turning an eye back on the plains briefly. She'd have to hunt later.
"A sister? I smell no others here....you're long lost then fellow." Golden eyes blinked as her ears canted. Such an odd and almost interruption of a situation. Still, the female figured the sooner they solved it, the sooner she'd have her free space back. "Well now, what do you need then? Since there's obviously nothing here you want." And with idle boredom she moved her paw to flick off some leaves balancing on his fur, just to watch them twirl to the ground.

For now was what lingered in his ears. "Are you changing your name then?" He asked her curiously. He'd never heard of anyone changing their name, but it sounded interesting. He was happy to see that she wasn't totally being rude to him now. Thank god, he really didn't feel like getting attacked today. Or any day for that matter.
"Well, I'm not hungry or thursty... So I don't really need anything" He told her with a nod. "I'm just out enjoying the day and what it brings me. I can always find my way back to my sister." He told her with a smile. "Always do." He gave her a grin. Not much else he could do. He was still upon the ground laying. "And you? Enjoying the day, or another agenda?

A firm nod was given to the male. "Yes, it's a traditional expectation for all the Swamplanders." Her lips twitched in a slight grin, showing pride in her origins and name discovery. "And it will be announced upon my arrival." She then hummed to herself; just how long would it take her to arrive home from this distance?
Tilting her head, the female crooked a brow at Dhiren curiously. "Oh, enjoying my tree then are ya?" But she chuckled it off, seeing as her agitation of hunger had faded away. Shrugging, she answered back finally. "Well I had been enjoying my day. But now all I can think of is my own siblings, after you mentioning your own." It was a mystery how well they were fairing on their own adventures. "But to each there own. Otherwise, I have no agenda."

"Oh! That sounds really interesting. A pride in which you have to change your name? Does everyone have to. " It was common for Dhiren to take interest in anything that seemed different in the world that he knew already. So his questions just came out, sometimes more then he wanted to say. It scared off a few before, but he would try to control his questions. She seemed to be proud of what she was, so it made his curiosity a bit more... Might be a challenge for him to contain his questions.
"Oh... It's a lovely tree." He said looking back at it. It really was, to a tree standers he suppose. Though, he wasn't a tree expert. Maybe it was just its looks, but really it wasn't a very good tree. He hadn't been in it yet.

Inija nodded with a slight grin. "Aye, that's the tradition and it's veeery important. Nearly everyone does it, especially if you're born there." It would be ignorant after all to think that one didn't change in time. And it only made sense that their name would change too; gifted by the spirits of their pride.
"Eh?" The lioness shrugged her shoulders as he continued mentioning the tree. It was a fine tree, no doubt. But she was done bragging about it by now. "It does its job. Though I'm done using it for now. You can use it if you like." And with that she stretched out, setting her mind on traveling once more. She'd relaxed long enough, and could go for a meal later on too.

"That's Fascinating" He spoke in awe. "What else does this pride do?" He asked her with a smile upon his face. It was natural for him to be interested in anything that he didn't know about. He looked at her like nothing else right now was interesting but what she had to say. Which was probably true for him. The tree was nothing of importance now. "Sorry if I sound annoying" He said realizing that sometimes he can be a bit annoying.

"Whatever the spirits demand of us, of course!" The lioness pounced forward, faking a playful attack. It was just so exhilarating to talk about her home, she couldn't help but get a thrill in her veins! But not even that would make her give away all the pride's secrets to a mere rogue. Grinning widely, the female walked passed the brown lion with a proud trot to her step. "You do. But that's alright, I'm a fairly patient lioness."
Pft, sure she was. But all the same, annoying or not, it was refreshing to have someone to chatter with. Even if they weren't expected or invited. Quirking a brow, Inija glanced back at Dhiren. "So? What does your pride do?"

"I'm afraid, me and my sister are wondering fools." He spoke as he stood up. He didn't want her to walk off without him. He was intrigued by her. "We are without a pride, wondering where ever our feet carry us." he said with a nod. "I'm merely looking for a nice place that will be good for my sister and I." He spoke of honestly. He smiled at her with a nod. He felt foolish being without a pride, but it just left things open for him. He could go into any pride that would accept him and his sister.
"A pride with good, and little bad." He said. "Which is why I ask questions to anyone who is in a pride. Which I do Apologize." He added with a chuckle. "I don't mean to come off as a nosie creature." Well that might be a lie, he wasn't sure. He was naturally curious.

Inija shrugged, not really finding any foolishness in wandering. "well, it seems all that wandering has left you two separated though, eh?" She glanced over at the other, quirking a brow to hear that they were actively searching for a home. How odd that must feel...to not have a home to even start from. Huffing at her white mane, the lioness debated her options. She could be rude and ruthless, telling the strange rogue to but out and fend for himself. But then again...it was always pleasant to see new faces in the swamps. Hmm.
"Well, I'm afraid there is some bad no matter where ya go. But at least where I live, the spirits give you fair warning and guidance." So why weren't they giving her any hints about this fellow? Obviously he was no threat to her. But was he also at all a potential to join the pride....or where the spirits ignoring him? Inija gave Dhiren a hard and analyzing stare as she mused over this.
