A hare dangling from his jaws, Unguzo flopped down in the shade of a tree. It was a scrawny thing, but it would serve as a nice snack until the hunters got back. Little was used compared to the herds massacred, but the cause was worthy. It was for a reason, unlike the sacrifices who willingly went to their deaths upon the whims of the royal line. Pale sharp teeth tore open the stringy carcass, and the hungry young scout made short work of the hare.
Once the edge was off his hunger and the hare was reduced to a bit of hide and bone, Unguzo leaned back against the tree. It was a good day to have free will.

Mwako'damu was on the prowl. His sister was safe, for the moment, but he had great ambitions to keep her that way. If it meant supporting the Dhati and their cause, than so be it. He would fight claw and fang for such a thing. His tail flickered, a low growl rumbling in his throat as his thoughts continued to wander, eyes gleaming as particularly nasty things darted through his mind... And then he caught scent of blood; fresh blood. His heart skipped a beat as he tried to recognize its particular scent. Was it lion? No... Much smaller. Frail, fragile... He glanced up, catching sight of both the source and the predator who had brought down its prey. A leopard... A spy. Curious as to just how attentive the creature was he paused, waiting to see if he'd be seen.

The sensation of being watched was an uncomfortable one for Unguzo. In these unsettled times, it could as easily be one of the Mizimu as one of the Dhati. Hackles rising, he shoved the scraps of his meal aside and rose, eyes casting about for his watcher. Once he saw it was Mwako, though, he relaxed. He'd caught a glimpse or two of this one before, and knew him to be an ally. "Anything you need?" he asked, dipping his head in acknowledgement of the other's presence.

"At the moment?" His brow lofted slightly as he shifted on his paws before stepping forward, a gleam in his eyes and a smirk on his lips. "Nothing that I can think of... Beyond sating my curiosities on just how well you pay attention. You passed the test. This time, at least." His smirk broadened ever so slightly. "Are you good at what you do, leopard?"

An unpleasant expression flashed over Unguzo's face before he schooled it into something more neutral. The lack of a name rankled him, a subtle reminder of his spiritless nature. As such, he couldn't voice his first thought of 'then why are you wasting my time' without stepping grossly out of line. It took a moment before he could think of something more appropriate. "I wouldn't be here if I wasn't." Simple truth. A bad scout became vulnerable to the whims of a Haruspex, and was unlikely to live long enough to make it to the Dhati where it was...safer, in a sense.

"Mm... Unguzo, was it? I believe I've heard someone call you by name before..." He let that thought trail off for a moment, eyes drifting to the sky for a second before falling back down to the blood red of the leopard's coat. "What would it take for you to tell me all that you know?

"It is..." Unguzo replied warily, unsure of where the conversation was going. Just a chat? Not likely. Like called to like, and the spirited preferred their own kind for simple socializing. Mwako's next words put firm footing under him again, familiar territory. "I don't trade for information. I can tell you what I see, unless our king says otherwise." He would do anything for the Dhati, but his leaders were the very symbol of the Dhati.

He watched the other for a moment longer, weighing the leopard's words as he pondered what his next ones would be. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, tail ticking behind him. "I want to know what you know, then. Everything that our King knows unless he specifically tells you that none other are to hear what you hear or see what you see. If there is danger of any sort I wish to be prepared so that I may protect my... The Dhati." He nodded firmly. "Understood?"

"Of course." Unguzo had offered as much, so he saw no issue in agreeing to this. If another member of the Dhati wanted to better keep their hide whole, or protect another, then that was their business. His business was gathering and dispensing the information that helped them. "Yes, I understand you."

"Good." He nodded, tail flicking once more as he let his eyes meet the leopard's for a brief moment before turning to make his way back to wherever he might have been heading before. "I am certain we'll be seeing more of each other. Stay good at what you do."
