 [main thread]  The book itself was plain, almost painfully so. The cover, now a slightly dingy grey, might have been once meant to be white; but by now it was worn so thin that it was impossible to tell.
And yet it was still a beautiful thing; for coiling around opposite corners to meet at the edge and form the clasp was a serpent elegantly wrought in silver. Ruby eyes winked and glittered in its tapered head.

Teenagers are usually associated with wild parties and crazy antics, but what about Aethelind? What does he get up to? Does he get up to anything?

Distinguishing Features: Silver and red metallic-like wings, silver and red scales on various patches on his skin (face, arms, back chest legs whatnot).
Occupation: A mechanic at a car garage and a waiter at a rather upscale French restaurant.
Clothing: Whatever he can find. Usually jeans (not very baggy), a tshirt and button up shirt over it. Or some variation along those lines. Most of his clothes are rather 'grunge-'y, and are worn and frayed around the edges.
And yes, he does have the token plaid flannel button up shirt somewhere.
Also, he always wears his really beaten and scuffed up steel toed boots unless he's working at the restaurant. His ears are pierced several times on each ear and his earlobes are stretched slightly (to like..4g or so, not that big), his lip and eyebrow are as well.
Powers: Newly emerging metal control. Ends up with...snake? Face snake? Generally can only use it when emotional (mad or upset or thelike), or completely subconsciously, like when he's asleep. Working on fixing that.
Personality:Lind is, much to the displeasure of his parents, the wild child of the family. He isn't above staying out late, sneaking in and out of the house, getting his face pierced....twice, and responds to much of the punishment with the usual teenage rebellion. However, he is a hard worker when he puts his mind to it, and generally won't act out if it's really important.
Generally.
He is something of an attention whore, though he has become a bit less energetic than he was when he was a kid. He still isn't above running around in the back with Mel or any of the other various furry or feathered occupants of the house, or any of his younger 'siblings'. Or picking on them. Either way.
He is a good person despite that, if you can get past the initial barrier of sarcasm and a bit of flamboyancy.

Lind's apartment is situated in a surprisingly nice part of town, considering who is renting it. It's not terribly big, with a moderately sized living room, an attached kitchen, and one bedroom and one bathroom. There isn't much in the way of decoration or furnishings, mostly due to the fact that he is usually too busy working to put much time into it.

Subo: Mother-figure. Seems to have eased off on the strictness now that he's gotten all big and independent and such. Though he'll still have to stick to the rules when he's still under her roof.
Faras: Father-figure. Incredibly more lenient than his wife, is much more of a laid back easy going type of guy. Also tends to be the designated play mate of the house.
Hateya: Older sibling? Tend to get on each other's nerves as siblings tend to do. She prefers her space, which means that Lind tended to invade it as much as possible.
Nova: Younger sibling (?) The one he babysits. Rather dreamy and absent minded. Likes tea parties and butterflies.

 "Some fairly kickass people."Rand: A very good, old childhood friend, who was the source of much entertainment and fun. Sadly, hasn't seen him around in a rather long time.
Kemuri: Lind met Kemuri (and Lily) at the park, and seems to have enjoyed the adult's company greatly. Hasn't seen him around at all, either.
Guinevere: Met her a few times when he was younger, recently met up with her again. Seems to like her good enough, but hasn't gotten to get to know her well enough to make further conclusions than that. Scratch that. They seemed to have developed a relationship based solely on arguing and making fun of each other. He doesn't seem to mind this too much, and finds it oddly hilarious.
Lucy: Is her...hoard? Not quite sure how to feel about this recent change in status.
Jin Tian: A bit strange, but hey, who isn't? Is nice, and holy s**t ruby.
Forney: WHAT IS THIS. I DON'T EVEN.
