F'sey has a whole lot of weyrlings and he needs another assistant! He and H'dra can't do it themselves! You'll be judged on activity (you'll be required to take part in some weyrling lessons, and if you can't be active for those, please don't apply) and basically, how your character would interact with F'sey. xD

Please post: Your dragonrider's profile and include why your character would be a good choice.

Character perks: A title and ICly, they'd be earning a few more marks.

PLEASE NOTE: This IS an RP-required position! (We reserve the right to dismiss your character if you can't be active. :[ ) You will also not gain anything OOC. Weyrlings are still Sou's thing and I will make all lesson plans/decisions/what have you, as F'sey will make all those decisions ICly. Your character just gets more RP. :]

Name: Zara
Age: 22
Sex: Female
Craft: Healer (pseudo-apprentice)
Rank: Wingrider
Orientation: Bisexual

Physical Description: Short and skinny, Zara doesn't have much of what others would call a 'womanly figure.' Her breasts are small, her hips are small, and she overall resembles a twig more than an hourglass. A plus of her light frame is delicate, chiseled facial features, although if she were more heavily built those wouldn't be much to look at either. Her hair is straight and long, a dull brown, kept in a near-constant braid. An attractive feature, one that she takes pride in, is her lovely grey-blue eyes. When it comes to clothing, Zara prefers loose clothing and soft colors...but when push comes to shove, she isn't very picky. A common outfit would include a linen tank top or halter top and shorts, perhaps a sarong if she's feeling dressy--almost always completed with sandals constructed of braided cloth. Overall, she's pretty, but not by any means stunning.

Personality: Quiet and studious, Zara tends to be on the fringe of most activities. Her reserve lends to the impression of shyness, but she's actually quite friendly--she simply prefers to let others make the first move. While the awkwardness of Holders around Weyr life amuses her, she tries not to make it too hard on 'fresh meat.' In her eyes, the gossips will make it plenty hard enough, so she's not going to add to their suffering unless they earn it.

She's still quite new to the Healer's arts, but when the wounded riders trickle in during Threadfall she's there with the rest of them...even if it's just to carry equipment and disinfect wounds. This could possibly be due to the fact she seems to have a hero complex. While she enjoys the occasional mischief as much as the next person, she's more likely to attempt to smooth a newly searched Candidate's transition into Weyr life than terrify them with tales of mauling dragonets and broody queens. She can become quite irritable in defense of someone that she feel is being picked on, and it's one of the few things that can get her to make the first move in socialization. Although she'd never admit it, she enjoys 'saving' people.

Zara follows orders well, but not blindly. If something bothers her about an order she's given, she'll question it--if circumstances permit. Even if an explanation is denied or insufficient, she'll often continue to follow the order...with resentment, yes, but she'll still follow it. Only if an order is truly stupid will she refuse it. As far as rules go, she's aware that most rules are in place for a reason...but on the other hand, some rules are made to bend a little bit. So while she has a bit of a stick up her a** about rules, it's a small one.

History: Zara's parentage is unknown to her, aside from the fact that they didn't seem to bother with her past infancy. The truth of the matter is that she was the unexpected result of a greenrider's flight, entrusted to the Weyr nannies so that her mother might return to active duty. Her youth was spent accompanying her peers in doing what weyrbrats do--shirking chores, causing mischief, sneaking peeks at eggs on the sands. When she came of age to become a Candidate, she did so with alacrity. And she stood...

Again. And again. And yet again.

Doubt and anxiety started to filter into Zara's mind as to her suitability to be a rider, and as a 'Plan B' she began an apprenticeship to one of the Weyr's Healers. She's spent the better part of a Turn thus, her trepidation growing even as she worked towards an 'alternate' life. And to Zara, it truly was a backup plan, a good choice just in case but not quite that which was her heart's desire. Even had she become a Healer, she would have returned to the Weyr, for it was her home and she could imagine no other.

The Hatching began as many others had, and Zara watched the dragonets hatch and Impress, one by one, with a mixture of anticipation and apprehension. For a heart-stopping few moments she was sent into a panic by Beryl's unexpected and definitely unapproved arrival, but disaster was narrowly avoided when the flit was hastily sent back to the barracks to wait for her bonded.

Luckily for Zara, the Queen's attention had been focused on an egg containing that which would shortly change the young woman's life forever. As the spotted grey egg split open and the blue within veered from his path towards the boys, Zara had found herself watching the blue that tumbled out keenly--sensing this, her penchant for observation, the hatchling veered yet again...this time on a course straight for her.

Fuxith is hungry. Will Zara feed him? But he doesn't want to talk to his siblings. No, Zara must feed him far away! Haughty words, but words that indelibly changed a life nonetheless.

Other/Talents: Reading--she sought out someone that could teach her how, and grew to enjoy it. Her writing is rudimentary, however, suited more to short notes for Beryl to carry than anything else.

---

I think she'd be suited for this because she is quiet, observant, and respectful--and she's had some practice being F'sey's assistant as punishment for her flit coming onto the Sands.

Fuxith is not the best with little ones, but he is sharp and focused, well able to point out mishaps to His so that she can correct them.

Name: T'ka (Formerly Tseka)

Sex: Female (Heterosexual)

Age: 19

Physical Description:Tseka is a peculiar combinations of traits, in both a pleasing and awkward fashion. First of all, she is extremely tall. A few inches taller than most adult males. Her father is a smith, and that's where she gets it from. She's well built, leggy etc. but doesn't quite look like an ideal female. Her shoulders are a little too wide and strong, her arms too muscled, and she posesses a great lack of breast and thigh. She doesn't curve as much at the waist as she should, but her legs are built just fine. Her hair is a honey blond color, slightly wavy, kept a little longer than shoulder length, but it does not live up to its potential. Too many hours spent close to the fire and heat of the forge have toasted it, split the ends, made it brittle and frizzy.

Her face is a little gaunt, the area around her eyes dark. Lack of sleep causing the latter, and the former by an obsession with work, when meals are often forgotten. Her skin is naturally very pale, but lots of outdoor time and evenings spent by the fire have turned her a creamy tan.

Her eyes are a dark chocolate color, flecked through with lighter bits of coffee brown. They're the most noticable feature on her face, and sometimes seem to be the only thing alive about her.

She dresses as simply as possible, in thin cloth, that covers most of her body, so that while protected from the fire, she doesn't easily overheat.

Personality: Tseka is...bold. She's confident, but rarely outspoken. Normally she's quite and reserved of opinion, only resorting to verbal quarreling when she's agitated. She knows what she wants, and tries hard to get it, but is seldom manipulative or conniving. She tries hard to abide by the morals her father ingrained in her at an early age, honesty and responsibility chief among them. That said, she's still a little rough sometimes, for without the lack of a mother, some of the more refined parts of politeness were left untouched. When she speaks, she can be painfully candid, expressing her honest opinion on things, and can be insulting without trying to be. She's encountered a few instances that are slowly curbing her of this habit, but it stills pops up from time to time.

That said, she is cunning. Just because she's honest doesn't mean she won't trick you. She does really like things to go her way. She just won't lie while doing so. Tseka hates to be outdone and showed up, and often gets frustrated when she feels she isn't performing at her best. She obeys authority, but doesn't enjoy it, and orders are often returned with resentment.

She's loyal to the end, and although not terribly well versed in the ways of friendship, she does try to be nice to people. She feels responsible in a way for everyone, and would help a stranger on the street, if the situation touched her in any way.

She has trouble understanding the bond between mother and child, as she can not remember hers, and affection is foreign to her. In fact, she doesn't really like to be 'touched' per say. Shying away from phsyical contact when she can, though mentally, she's just fine with people. Because of this trait, and her somewhat awkward structure and manner, Tseka has never had a 'signifigant other', or anything relatively close. She's as naive about boys as a four year old.

History:Tseka was born into Smithing. Her mother died when she was young, leaving her with only her father for company. Her father was loving, but was extremely devoted to his craft, so as a child, Tseka spent many evenings on the floor in her father's work area. Naturally, she grew up watching and learning, trying her hand at the craft as early as she was permitted. She wasn't terribly good at it, but after years of practice, her skill has developed nicely. She might be able to make Journey rank soon, even, were she not female. For while there are no rules against in, in a field such as smithing, there is a lot of prejudice still against girls, particularly one as young as Tseka, reaching any sort of rank. Biting her tongue, she practices, bothered and annoyed, but never presented with a chance to prove herself.

Feed me, now. I am hungry! Haanyath needs food. Those were the words that gave T'ka a chance. Changed her life forever. Bonded to the infamous Haanyath, T'ka lived out her time as a Weyrling with eager anticipation and adoration for her bonded. They could do things together, make a difference. Working hard, working long, and working without complaint, T'ka, and Haanyath, found pride and pleasure in their efforts, and the results of said efforts, and the opportunities that opened up for them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why T'ka? T'ka is straight forward, no nonsense, and dedicated to each and everything she's assigned to. She, and Haanyath, expect excellence not just out of themselves, but of everyone around them. Neither tolerates disobedience or mischief, and though Haanyath may have a temper sometimes, T'ka rarely does.
*EDIT:Forgot to note that, since she's come to the Weyr. T'ka's a lot better about taking orders <3
~The Applicant Rider~
Basics
Rider name: L’thor
Given name: Lunthor
Age: 25 turns
Sex: Male
Orientation: 6 (homosexual)
Rank: Wingrider, Typhoon Wing
Appearance
Height: 5'10"
Build: Lithe, slender
Approx weight: 10 stone
Hair: Mid-chestnut brown, wavy, slightly past shoulders
Eyes: Grey
Skin: Light olive, tans easily
Face: Sharp featured, noticable high cheekbones
Detailed appearance: L’thor is tall, light olive skinned and lithely muscled with a sharp, high-cheekboned face that is on the pretty side or reasonably handsome. His hair is slightly past shoulder length, mid-chestnut brown and slightly wavy, going some little way to soften his pointy features when it isn’t tied back in a practical braid. According to him, cutting it short simply isn't an option; his vanity wouldn’t suffer it. His eyes are grey, piercing, and usually alight with one powerful emotion or another. When not in his riding gear, he prefers comfortably but elegantly cut clothes in muted tones; his personality is vibrant enough that he doesn’t need his clothes to shout for him. Two things he is never without are a simple knotted leather bracelet with two tassels, each ending in a green bead, and a copper bangle. They were gifts from his former weyrmate, and from his best friend respectively.
Relationships
Parents: Loria (45) and Dunter (46)
Siblings: Sarcia (F, 29), Norn (M, 27), Luanai (F, 22), Ortho (M, 16)
Other notable family: Califer (Uncle, 52)
Significant other: D’los (Dephalos, died 23)
Significant friends: V’kain (Vannkain, 26)
Personality
Likes: Handsome men, pretty men, wine, banter, dancing, music, good food, klah, papering Raith, flying (especially fast)
Dislikes: Boredom, lazy people, stupid people, stuck up bronze riders, children under the age of thirteen or so
Quote: "That man has a tail-fork where his mouth should be, balls where his brain should be, and where his balls should be there's blackest between."
Character tracks: Rocked up he’s a pirate (or rather a dragonrider XD), It’s my life
Extended personality: L’thor is witty, often cuttingly so, observant, passionate, proud and often somewhat vain. Calm is a word that can seldom be attached to him without a negative in the sentence as well. Quick to laugh and quick to anger over even the smallest matters, he has both many friends (who he loves dearly) and many enemies (who he hates with equal intensity); he seldom feels neutral about anyone he knows more than in passing. He is extremely confident in himself, extremely proud and perhaps a little more outspoken than he ought to be, but seldom outright disrespectful of his superiors (in their presence at any rate.) While on duty he can be counted on to follow orders and keep his witticisms internal, but under other circumstances he often can’t resist the urge to make a cutting remark or two when told to do something he considers stupid, pointless or demeaning.
He is a very stubborn person, and once he has decided to do something he tends to do it even if he knows it isn’t very sensible. Similarly, though he usually knows when it would be sensible to back down from a confrontation he often does not, which has got him into varying degrees of trouble over the turns. However, his stubbornness also leads him to stick firmly by his friends and makes him determined to carry out his duties no matter what.
Despite his confidence and gregarious nature, he gives away little about himself save to those he knows best. This is not because he has great traumas to hide or because he is ashamed of anything he has ever done, but because he doesn’t like the idea of someone who could become an enemy knowing anything personal about him at all. Until he considers someone a true friend, he does his best to turn probing questions about himself aside, or proceeds to spin a wonderfully exciting answer that even a watch-wher could tell was entirely contrived.
In his free time L'thor loves to socialize, pamper his dragon Raith, and go flying with her. The pair of them are thrill seekers in the air, and love nothing better than steep dives, sharp turns and barrel rolls. He has little use for just lazing about (save in bed with company) and bores very easily if he has nothing to do.
Brief History
L'thor is the son of a Trader. He came to the Weyr aged fifteen turns and Impressed green Raith late in the same turn. He was always a dedicated and competent weyrling and later full rider, but had a tendency to get into trouble for talking back. His weyrmate D'los, also a greenrider, died around two turns ago in a drilling accident. He still misses him at times, but has moved on with life.
Why L'thor?
L'thor is smart, dedicated, and always full of passionate energy, especially when it comes to dragons. He has no patience for fooling around on duty (in this can during lessons) and has no trouble cutting loudmouths down to size. As ever, however, Raith will do a good job of keeping him from going too far with anything and will more gently reinforce to wayward weyrling's dragons why it is important for them and Theirs to behave.
He is fiercely protective of people he considers to be 'his', and as such weyrlings under his care can count on him for support no matter what. L'thor is also extremely stubborn; if a weyrling is struggling with something, by the first egg he will help them catch up with the rest of the class or die trying. As a side note, he also has a ridiculous number of flitts, and would be able to advise any weyrlings that acquire the lovely little nuisances about caring for them, and training them (among other things) not to appear at inconvenient or inappropriate moments.
Working on gaining F'sey's respect would be very important to him; as he loves greens above all other colours, seeing one in such an important position as Weyrling master impresses and pleases him a great deal. Because of this, F'sey could expect to be spared the back-chat L'thor gives to most of his superiors, as he genuinely respects the other green rider rather than just putting up with him whilst on duty. He would hardly, however, become a simpering fan-boy: hard work and good results so far as he is concerned would be the way to go, and he wouldn't hesitate to ask questions if he didn't see why F'sey wanted something done in a particular way.
Raith in Brief
Raith is calmer, gentler, and infinitely more patient than her rider. She is able to restrain him from doing anything too stupid (usually) and has become adept at smoothing the feathers L'thor ruffles. She is also rather more levelheaded, and will force him to think through any brilliant ideas he has before acting on them.
Danna and blue Selth
Their profiles are in their weyr thread.
I try not to be lame about RP and flake out; I think this would be the kind of kick in the shins I'd need. XD Either way, I'm always open to hashing out plots/ideas on AIM.
Anyway, Danna's pretty tough. She's a female bluerider, in her 30s, and good at point recognition drills. She's a competent wingrider and, from what I know of F'sey, could work well with him.
(The joke is, she got her head shaved as a weyrling and kept it that way.)
