Ocala walked tentatively through an open plain, filled with softly swaying grass that gently tickled her stomach and legs. She chuckled softly to herself, amazed that she was out here alone. A year ago, that feat would have been impossible...as she had been a quivering ball of fear and apprehension, terrified of the outside world. Even her mother had given up hope of her wandering out of the small clearing she lived in.

She was defying the odds with each step. Ocala wasn't sure how she had found the courage to face her fears. But, every day for the past six months, she had wandered farther out of her clearing. Today she had left it entirely.

A mix of joy and fear on her ivory features, she faced her future, embracing her mother's legacy. The legacy of an explorer!

The stallion was enjoying the touch of summer, the sunshine warm upon his back and the gentle breeze toying with his long mane and tail. He was in no hurry, no rush, and was finally settling in as more of an explorer and traveler. How far had he wandered, making his way around the Kawani, aiding what soquili he could and attempting to keep Kaiya's words and morals at the top of his list. It was difficult without the angeni; where she had a sixth-sense, so to speak, and could easily see those who were broken, shattered or plain cruel and twisted. . . Galahad could not. Though he treated every soquili he met with the same respect and gentleness, it was much more difficult to pinpoint those in need without the angeni's gift.

Still, he tried and he had done some good. Perhaps it was just his companions constant company and conversation which lacked; perhaps he missed his family though he was on the long journey back to his homelands and Islagiatt territory. Regardless, the spirits sent him everything he needed and perhaps were teaching him a lesson in true independence. As it was, the pale stallion drifted across the plains, in no rush to get home and as always, keeping his green gaze out for any the good spirits might send his way.

There was a reason for everything, so Galahad believed, and every meeting he had made on his journey back to Islagiatt was one to be cherished. Pausing to graze at the sweet grasses surrounding him, the long-horned stallion stayed alone for quite some time. Ah, but the fates weren't willing to give him time alone, oh no. In the midst of his lunch, movement and a figure across the way caught his eye; there seemed to be a soquili of some sort, mare or stallion was difficult to discern from this distance; long golden hair and a coat as pale as his own. . . They were heading his way, and though he continued to graze, he had no intention to flit or flee. Should they approach, he'd welcome them as he had all the strangers met before. . . . Galahad never turned down a spot of company anyway.

Ocala shivered. This was the farthest from home she had ever been. What if something happened to her? No one would know if she got injured...although her stepfather would be able to spot her from the skies if need be. But the knowledge that Karma would save her didn't assuage her worries. There was always the chance that something would happen and no one would find out until it was too late to do anything about it. Ocala didn't want to be the first fatality in her family, the thought sending tremors of terror through her pale frame, and started to turn her hooves back towards her clearing, to safety, when...

Catching the faintest glimmer of white out of the corner of her eye, she stopped. A tall stallion grazed nearby, merely a few yards away. Ears pricked forward in tentative curiosity, she took a few cautious steps towards the first other Soquili she had seen on her brief travels. "E-excuse me, sir. I hope I'm not intruding..." she said, trying her best to be brave, like her mother had been. "But as you seem to be something of a traveler yourself, I was wondering if you could help me? I...I don't know how to...well, I don't really know how to do anything out here on my own." She looked up at him shyly, bright blue eyes peeking out from dark-lashed lids. "I've never been away from home before, you see."

Galahad heard the approach of a stranger, soft footfalls against the tall grasses of the plains. He caught sight of the stranger out of the corner of his eye, taking in a coat as pale as his own and the figure of that as a mare. . . . But it was only when she spoke and addressed him that he turned his green eyes upon her sight, expression gentle and welcoming. Lately it seemed the only types he meant were mares. . . . Somehow, regardless where or for what reason, mares seemed to flock to his side. Oh, he didn't mind in the least, he was always happy to help, but it amused him nonetheless. Were the Kawani lands filled with nothing but ladies. . .?

"Fear not, m'lady, you're far from a form of intrusion. A spot of company would be most welcome," he added lightly, dipping his head in a bow. Listening to her plight, the stallion mulled about her predicament. It was good that she was getting out, but not knowing to do anything on her own. . . Well. . . . "I'd be happy to assist you, but I am curious; exactly how far from home are you or do you hope to roam? I can better aid you with such a knowledge and understanding. . . " If she wished to see the world, he could certainly give her some pointers and tips; if she merely hoped to linger among the plains, he could also advise her properly.

"But first, m'lady, might I introduce myself? This way were not such unacquainted strangers." Bemused, the stallion bowed before her, genuine in his delight to know her name. "I'm Galahad, and tis a pleasure to meet you."

((Sorry for the shortness. ._. I think I'm getting sleepy.))

He seemed like such a gentleman. He reminded her a bit of her father, with the gentle way he spoke to her. Although her father didn't use words like "m'lady." She smiled at the title. He spoke like a knight. Perhaps he was one? He certainly looked the part. At the very least, he seemed very traveled. A traveler that didn't fault someone else for not having traveled...it was interesting.

Regardless, some of Ocala's nervousness at approaching a strange male faded away with the gentle smile on his face.

"The pleasure's all mine, Galahad." She smiled shyly up at him, glancing briefly into his kind moss green eyes. "My name is Ocala."

"I...that's just the thing. I don't know how far I'm going. I'm just...going. My mother was a world traveler when she was my age. I...I wanted to follow in her hoofprints. But I'm not very good at exploring. Not nearly as good as my mother."

She frowned, almost a pout, as she recalled her pitiful attempt so far at being a world traveler. "But...I don't want to give up. I want to live up to my mother's legacy..."
