Days after the hatching, B'lin couldn't have asked for more than to see Xanthoth doing better. Mostly he was pleased to see his dragon back to normal. Er, what he assumed was normal. He hadn't exactly been with him long enough to be sure. Having a mental connection offered some insight, as did Xanthoth's... original entrance, but B'lin wasn't yet convinced the winged playboy was incapable of hiding something if he really, really wanted. After all, he'd been fooled in regards to this rider business before.
Part of B'lin had thought when you Impressed, you not only gained a life partner, but awoke some hidden potential that had been put to rest until such a time. It seemed to him every time he saw a rider they just knew what they were doing. In the back of his mind he'd always assumed he, too, would just know what to do. But he didn't, and it frustrated him. He was a smart guy. He should have been able to handle a problem like mourning a loss faster than this.
All he could do was try and try again. So that's what he did.
Xanthoth had appreciated the effort. It was the thought that counts, as the saying goes. Still, the loss had taken it's toll for the beginning of his young life, and he knew it would never be mended. Just patched up.
When he'd asked B'lin to go outside, the glint of relief in his rider's eyes hadn't escaped catching Xanthoth's own. It was nice B'lin was relaxing more now. This was something they could share. The trip the shore was silent to the world. Between the pair... not so much.
She was very pretty, B'lin!
...Will you stop talking about that?
The next time I take you to a healer, it will be one for the heart, Mine.
Funny.
Not funny. At all.

The shore wasn't silent to the WHOLE world...
A little ways down the beach were Ferris and Hwinth, both racing about in the surf and sending water flying every which way. It looked like one was chasing the other in some type of game, or perhaps there was no one chasing anyone at all and they were both just crazy. ... The former, however, looked more plausible.
"You're never gunna tag me!" Ferris whooped as she ran through the clear waters, holding her sandals in one hand and swinging them about by the straps. She was soaked from the waist down, and there was a line of spray up her back, but she didn't even seem to notice, nor care.
The little dragon she was talking to didn't seem too deterred by the hollered statement, and she raced in the shallower surf behind Hers. Her splotchy hide then veered left and a millisecond later so did Ferris, still totally... oblivious to the location of her chaser. It wasn't long before Hwinth's path crossed hers and the young green smacked her tail into Ferris's legs.
There was a small bugle, but other than that Hwinth made no more of a fuss over her win, and only watched Hers as she stopped.
"Aww ha, cheater!" Ferris called out, though all in good fun as laughter fell about her voice. "You got me so quickly."
The game was tag. I tagged you. replied the green, but she gave no more words to Ferris's inquisitive thoughts.

Xanthoth had transposed from sad mood, sadder mood, saddest mood to a cheerful state of mind and B'lin didn't want to be the one blamed for taking it away from him. But that didn't mean he wanted to deal with... people like that, acting that way. This situation was lose-lose, and he knew it the second he saw green and rider bounding across the sands.
"I think that green hatched with you," he muttered, wanting nothing more to keep his thoughts to himself. The only way to do that he'd found so far was to stay out of his own head. Unfortunately, the only way to do that was to talk. B'lin knew now why people who never stopped talking seemed so mindless to him.
She did. She looks very happy. Unlike some of his siblings.
Great. B'lin did all he could think to do to keep him from thinking too much into it. "Why don't you go play, too?"
Xanthoth couldn't have looked more amused than he did just then. Poor, silly His. Trying his hardest to make things better, wasn't he? B'lin had much to learn! But this wasn't a bad idea, so why not?
The bronze continued his walk forward, fast approaching his clutchmate and her rider.

"Yeah yeah, smarty pants..."
But I don't wear pants.
"Now you're just being facetious." Ferris smirked down at the young green and folded her arms under her chest. Hwinth too gave something akin to a smirk, though it really only crinkled her nose and made her eyes look somewhat squinty. They'd have to work on that.
A moment later, the young woman shifted her weight and lost the smirk all together. "Alright, want to go again?" she asked, but then blinked and raised an eyebrow. "Hwinth, are you listening?"
Another's coming, Mine. Look and listen before speaking sometimes replied the young dragon, but not scornfully. She continued to look away from Hers and down the beach where she could see Xanthoth traipsing up towards them. Ferris finally got the idea and looked too, then gave a small "Oh" and unfolded her arms.
"Is His coming too or...He's just coming over on his own? Independent little thing."
Hwinth turned her body and gave a calm, small trumpet to her bronze brother. Is yours coming as well, Brother?

His rider was not standing beside him any longer, and from the looks of it, Xanthoth was a-okay with that. B'lin remained in his line of sight still. So long as he could see the man shifting around out of the corner of his eye, there was nothing to worry about! Independence only went so far, however; Xanthoth hadn't forgotten he came over to be social, not solo. Just to be on the safe side, he did spare a glance between his outstretched wings to make sure B'lin was still where he'd left him.
Yes, he was good to go.
The little bronze turned to his sister and shrugged--or some motion that strongly resembled it. Mine is of the quiet type. Awkward, you understand. Especially with girls. Speaking of, he was not-so-modestly looking Ferris over with admiration and a charming little smile. Pretty, pretty. His sisters had a good eye.
Are you playing? B'linmine does not play. It gets terribly boring sometimes. I would like to try, if it's okay.

Hwinth nodded her splotchy head in understanding. Mine...is not the quiet type. She looked back at Hers to reaffirm her words, and then returned her attention to her bronze brother when Ferris gave her a Look.
And you're more than welcome to play -- Ferrismine, he's going to play with us. ...Ferrismine? Once more Hwinth looked over to Hers, but Hers was no longer there.
Ferris was definitely not a quiet person, nor shy. Awkward: yes, sometimes, but of a different type. Usually. That, and she wasn't one to exclude others, even if the Other wanted to be.
"Hey! Hey," Ferris called, and then puffed, as she slowed from a jog to a walk and then stopped in front of the taller, much larger boy. ...Young man. Man. Dude.
"What's your name?" she asked, then took a big breath of air again. "I'm Ferris, and that little green down there is Hwinth."
