After having something of a emotional break down the last thing Seth would have normally done if leave his apartment, but these where hardly normal circumstances. Besides, he was freezing now whenever he was inside, and the warmth outside sort of balanced it out. (At least not without the help of him wearing unseasonal clothing).

Right now, the first agenda was finding out the person who killed him, that guy with the funny accent and cat ears. How many people like that could there be? He supposed though, he'd have to ask the right people, and the right place to ask said people was probably going to be that flower shop of whose location he'd forgotten and failed to find so far.

But he was determined now, a lot more than he'd been in a long time. Mainly out of spite now to prove to Hypnos he could be a good prophet. Something which was going to take a while to fix given the track record.

He wondered the middle parts of the city, there where already a few people with a certain feeling they'd forgotten what they'd be doing for the past few minutes in his wake from where he'd asked around.

Writ tried another venture into Middling again. The barricades were still up, but he got by with stalking the rooftops. It was tempting to rile up the crowds again, but he wasn't going to do another covert move just yet. Let the Blacksuits regroup and plan. Writ knew that couldn't be all that secret government organizations had to offer. If all it took was an angry mob, he would've directed one to the Blacksuit headquarters ages ago. They were still holding back. Writ wanted to see what they were capable of, and how far exactly would they go to get their hands on a godling.

Speaking of which. Writ looked down to see a sweater-wearing sickly-looking Seth pass apartment building he standing on. He sat himself on the ledge and called down to the godling, "Hey! Seth! Whatcha doin' down there? Have you seen those barricades?" Writ pointed at the fire escape below him, "Come on up before you disappear."

Seth hadn't been to bothers about the barricades, mostly because he had no idea what they where doing there or what had happened recently, he'd really barely left his neighbourhood apart form when he and Quinn exchanged beating each other up. Besides, most mortals where a lot easier to effect without his sand handy, so people who asked him questions soon fell into the deja vu the ones he was questioning as well.

Though his usual focus on his task was broken by a familiar face. Writ? What was he doing up there, it didn't matter, he was a friendly sort from what he remembered.

"Disappear?" Admittedly Seth didn't know anything about Blacksuits either. Still he followed up the fire escape, which, at least for him, was very tiring. "Maybe you know someone I'm looking for."

"Those wings on your head aren't exactly discreet." Writ smiled. He grabbed Seth's hand as he climbed up the fire escape to help him out. With a grunt, Writ pulled Seth up.

"Geez man, you're freezing! What did your god do to you this time?" Writ's rule of thumb was it was always the god's fault. Always. He stared, it wasn't just Seth's body temperature that changed, there was just something different about the guy. Writ just couldn't put his finger on it. He'll ask in a bit, but first...

"Looking for someone, huh? Who?" Writ was curious, "I get around, who do you need to see?"

Seth brushed his head wings absent-mindedly at Writs comment, not that it helped much, feathered weren't easily concealed in hair. "Thanks"

His God had indeed done something to him, though that and his temperature where two unrelated matters, both of which where probably better off left secret for now. Between the face that he'd died or that he's lost a lot of his memories he wasn't sure which he'd rather not try to explain.

"Err...nevermind, it's not important." He motioned with his hand pushing the matter to one side. "Tall, guy, cat ears and a tail?"

Vale. Writ thought instantly. Not many people run around freely with those kind of features. There were splicers, yes, but it was more likely that Seth had business with godlings than with maniacs.

Though from the last few days around here, the lines were starting to blur.

Writ was a good example.

"Hm, maybe. Sounds familiar, why do you want to see him?"

Considering the people who living in Seth's apartment building, he was only just a few steps away from getting involved with splicers.

He was going to have to be careful about this, obviously he wanted to at least track down Vale because he killed him, but not fight him, not yet anyway. he was going to have to tip toe round having to explain that. Seth wasn't the best at persuading people who weren't high.

"Yeah that's all" He nodded, hiding his ill intent, trying to seem innocent about it.

Writ smirked. Seth was new to the business of lying and getting away with it. A blatant misdirection like that and Writ already knew Seth was hiding something. He sat down, his legs bouncing against the building below him. He gave Seth an innocent look, along with a little sparkle for good measure.

"Come on Seth, you can tell me, we're friends after all."

Seth should have known better than to try and get information out of the Godling of a trickster God of all people. Well, he could come clean about one thing, that being Vale had beat him up. But there was still the matter of avoiding having to explain the circumstances that lead him to being for lack of a better word, a zombie.

Maybe he could trust Writ, he had no reason not to. Especially since he didn't know whose Writs God was.

"We just got into a fight, I just want to know who he is"

"Think you're going to give me a little more to go by than that." Writ said, staring out into the skyline, "I'm older now, and my memory's kinda fuzzy if you know what I mean." He wanted to see how much information Seth was going to put on the table. Good thing Writ knew a whole lot about Vale-- he was curious about the ghostly pale Seth, and how exactly he stayed below zero in 90 degree weather.

Of course, he never knew Seth to be quick on the uptake, so he added, "You know how this game works. You feel like a freaking freezer, how come?"

More to go on? What more was there than that? The cat guy showed up at his apartment and they got into a fight. Seth clearly didn't get the worth bartering thing. Either way, there was not a great deal he could offer.

"Like what?" He was obviously puzzled.

So he'd noticed his condition, he supposed there wasn't getting any way round this now. But would he believe it? Well, given that he had wings sprouting out of the side of his head and he was talking to a guy with ears like a dog, it might not be that far of a stretch of the imagination.

Biting his lip and looking down at the street belows tarmac he piped up. "He ate my heart"

Writ's ears twinged up. Well, he certainly didn't see that one coming. He was thinking that Seth's god gave him some nifty powers and the icy paleness was just a side effect of the whole thing. There was an awkward silence on the rooftop.

"So, this guy ate your heart." Writ was slowly piecing it together, "He took it out of your chest and ate it." It explained why Seth was as cold as a corpse. Probably because he was one. Writ had to admit, with all his experience in the game, he's never actually talked to an actual zombie before.

"So, you died?"

Seth really didn't need to say anything, his ears gave more that enough of a reaction to gauge by.He nodded as Writ slowly ran through the sequence of events, only making a quiet sort of grunt on the "Ate it" bit.

"I wasn't awake for that part" Something he was more than happy about.

"Yes?" There wasn't much more he could add to that. "I'm, sort of stuck this way"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 08, 2009 9:34 pm

"'Stuck'?" Writ looked at Seth, "'Stuck'? Seth, most people don't wake up after they die, how am I still talking to you? What happened after" Writ tried to find the right words, then gave up, "You stopped living? Did you see that light at the end of the tunnel that I keep hearin' about?" Now it really wasn't information gathering as it was curiosity. But hey, with their high mortality rate, a godling was entitled to know what exactly was at the end of the tunnel.
