Wolves did not live out in the open, they preferred the safety and comfort of the forest around them, at least normally they did. Disneyana was not an average wolf, she was terrified of the forest and had been born on the open meadow. She had learned to defend herself well in the open and the dangerous brambles and thorns had served as her home and protection since she had been a pup. The blue female was curled up in a deeply dug den covered by wild roses and their thorns. Sound asleep beside her mate one would think that the female would be at peace, yet her dreams were haunted by the darkness behind her closed lids.
Disneyana felt her legs move beneath her her breathing was harsh and a cry of terror escaped her as she ran away from the darkness of the forest and the unknown dangers within. She woke startled and gasping softly before peering around and sighing, oh what foolishness. She glanced at her mate a small smile curved her muzzle before her eyes trailed into the pile of rose petals and her daughter and two sons...one son?

She yelped and stood suddenly. "Allah! allah wake up! Fantasia is missing!"

The moss colored wolf was curled tightly, his mind off in the distant dreams deep in his mind. If he had been touching his mate, he might have felt her writhing in fear of her dream. But his mind kept him preoccupied as he too, dreamt of monsters and demons.. They were slightly different than the ones his Disney were having.. His dreams actually showed the monsters, all different forms of mutant wolves.. He was supposed to protect his family, and monsters like this were out there?

He had heard the stories Disney had told, and he believed them with every essence of his being. She was so scared of the creature, that it had rubbed off on him and he had sworn to protect her.

Her words jostled him from sleep, one eye blinking open sleepily, as he lifted his head and yawned. His eyes blinked a bit, focusing on the darkness of the den. He could hear the rain begin to softly hit the earth.. and his ears perked as he took in her words.
"What do you mean, Our son is gone?" He asked, his eyes frantically looking towards his pups..Their pups. Fanta, his little brown pup with the white rose that lay on his shoulder was gone.
His eyes widened, and he gave one look to Disney, before nis nose hit the den floor, and he began sniffing.

Disneyana lept to her feet and quickly covered her two sleeping pups with rose petals softly whispering for them to hush and sleep. She was reluctant to leave them, but her fear was mounting. She darted out of the den, not with her usual grace and care. Her muzzle was scratched and she felt the rain patter down onto a cut, but such a thing was unimportant! She needed to find her precious son, she lifted her head and let out a long howl of desperation.

"Fantasia! Fantasia!" Her voice was carried by the wind weakly across the meadow. Frantic eyes darted all around as a bitter taste filled her mouth. Only a mother could imagine all the horrors that might befall her child, and even now her heart raced against her chest in terror. That was her baby out there! Her eyes slowly moved to the dark distant shadow of the forest and she froze. No...no he couldn't be there...

But no, sounds came not so much from the forest as they did from nearby the river than ran near the meadow. For once finding the soft rivulets of rain a comfort, Fantasia bade goodbye the white stranger known as Lucifer, his promise to repay the wolf’s courtesy remaining at the back of his head as he turned his head forward, ears tilted to the frantic sounds of his parents. Oh /boy/, he was in trouble this time . . . The pup had had no inkling how frightened his parents would be; but then again, Fantasia hadn’t imagined that he would have wandered so far away without being caught. Luck indeed.

Tucking his tail, Fantasia broke away from the brook and returned their calls with a howl of his own. “Here!” he called to them, pace speeding up as his heartbeat did. “Over here!” Were they still near the den? He couldn’t hear either of his siblings’ voices and had to wonder if perhaps they had all been asleep . . . Curses! If he had been only a minute earlier, he could have just snuck back in without them knowing.

The strong male did not freak out like his mate did, though he felt his stomach tighten and his heart drop when he thought of his son being gone. He lifted his head when Disney tore out of the den like a cat with fire to its tail.

"Disney!" He yelled, not wanting her to be out there frantic in the rain. He didnt want his mate to have a soaking to the bone pelt when she should be warm and nestled into the warmth of their children.

He raced to her side, listening to her painful howl. She was hurting, and he hoped they found the boy, not just for him, but for the sanity of his lover.

When Fanta's voice echoed through the forced, slightly muffled and hard to hear, but there none the less. Allah perked his ears, and took off, racing in the direction the sound had come.

Allah threw up his muzzle into the wind and rain as he ran, howling to his son who was a bit further off.

"Im coming."
But he knew that Fanta, once he found him, if he wasnt in serious danger, he'd be in for a world of trouble.

Her heart leapt into her throat as they heard the muffled cry in the midst of the sprinkling rain. Oh thank goodness! She raced after her mate her nose close to his tail as she ran all out frantic to reach her son. What happened? Why was he out there? Her mind was a frantic tangle and her legs jumped under her slim frame as the water darkened her pelt. She could be calm again once she saw her child unharmed, but until then her mothering instinct drove her hard.

At length, their scent growing stronger, he spied two figures running towards him from close to the forest, blue and brown growing closer. For all his tough guy tendencies, Fantasia had to swallow hard at the thought of how much trouble he truly was in. Would affection win out on lectures and punishments? He could only hope so, because the alternative meant something close to being forced to stay in the cave for a whole day, and heavens knew he wouldn’t be able to stand being in such a space without growing horribly bored.

Relieved nonetheless that Allah and Disneyana had found him, the pup sped up until he looked about ready to tackle one or both of them. “I’m fine!” he shouted, to pre-empt any question about his health. The hare hadn’t given him much strength, but it had been enough thankfully; Fantasia was still hungry, however.

Allah saw the little figure in the distance, and then in moments the little pup had made his way to them.
He shouted of his health, and that helped Allah get into parent mindset, more than the concerned father.

He offered his son a nuzzle, and pulled him close to him as he was thankful he had found him. But he cleared his throat, and looked down at Fanta, standing a bit dominantly.

"What the hell were you doing out here all by yourself? Do you know the dangers?" He asked, his voice calm, yet stern.

"Oh Fanta!" The blue mother curled her body around her pup and nuzzled him.
"We were so worried!" She gasped out while looking him over, he claimed to be alright but what if he was ill or had suffered an injury without realizing it? She held back a sob and quickly ushered him on.

"Come come we can discuss this out of the rain, no good for anyone to be drenched..." She wanted to pick her son up and carry him but they boy was growing and if he had run off on his own two feet he could use them to get right back home. The cuts on her muzzle had finally made themselves known now that her rush of adrenaline was fading.

For a moment Fantasia’s eye twitched at the indignant question. Of course he knew about the dangers! “M’fine, I swear,” he assured them, noting the formed cuts on his mother’s muzzle with a small cringe as he was nudged and nuzzled right back into the den, turning his head to look up at the rather imposing figure of his father.
Often more used to the loving side of Allah, it hit Fantasia then just how capable of being menacing the moss-colored wolf could be if he wished it. “I was just exploring and got a little too ahead of myself,” the pup explained, shaking himself of the mist on his fur. “Tried to fish and got washed down river some. But isn’t it fate that I got back without a scratch?”

Allah snorted but followed his family into the den, where he took a moment to look at the two other pups to make sure they were still sleeping. When he was satisfied that they were still fast asleep, he looked back at Fanta.

"Fate?" He snorted and shook his head. How could he have taught his son to be so clueless... Fate could have taken his sons life as well.. He wasnt sure he liked that argument much.

"You could have been killed, very easily in fact."
His voice stern, it took all his might not to nuzzle the pup some more and tell him to just not do it again..
He needed to be stern now, it was the time for it.

Disneyana actually felt her heart stop for a few seconds, washed down the river? She gave a cry and moved to lay down feeling suddenly ill, her baby could have drowned while she slept! Fate indeed! She couldn't summon any words and looked at her mate hoping that he would be able to impart the lesson. She felt faint as the echoing memory of her rough childhood pressed down on her, if not for the safety of the roses and her willingness to learn from those even not her own species she would be dead. Here in this sweet smelling haven beneath the open sky she had thought her pups would be safe, but of course danger came from all sides.

His mother’s wail impaled him cold through the heart, and again the pup had to swallow hard as his father spoke. “I know, but I wasn’t . . . That has to mean something, right?” Everything had to have some reason, some determined explanation, according to the ginger pup, and as he stared up at Allah that very determination could be seen in his dark bronze eyes, even if the rest of Fantasia’s body was trembling from cold and guilt combined.
His journey meant something; Fate didn’t want him dead, wanted him to do something else with his life than simply explore. “I’m sorry for going too far; I promise I won’t do it again without your permission.” Fantasia glanced at his siblings, apparently sleeping soundly.
