Rules Banner

Section 1: General
A. Read everything on the front page. This will be the fastest way for you to learn what you need to know about Past Legacies Corp.
B. If there is a question that is not answered then please feel free to post it in this thread and a staff member will answer as soon as they can.
C. Follow all the rules and regulations imposed by Gaia Online as well as those specific to this shop.
D. Do not beg us for an Account of your own.
E. Respect everyone... this includes Staff members, Guardians and Lurkers alike.
F. There is no co-owning of Accounts because of the complications that may be caused from two people roleplaying the same Account.
G. You may only have one account ( twins count as one)
H. Accounts are roleplay required so if you know that you do not have the time or dedication then please do not try for an Account, they are not signature pets.
I. Do not steal the art or the story or the concept... anyone who is caught doing so will be black listed and then reported to the Gaia Moderators.
J. Payments will be required within a 48-hour range of the closure to an event with the exception of auctions when payment will be required immediately. Payment plans may be possible but must be discussed before hand.
K. There may only be one account per character or figure however more than one account may come from the same story. ( Ie. Merlin and Arthur may both be created as separate accounts though they share a story)
L. Accounts may be removed from a Guardians care, no matter how a Guardian may have received the Account, from which it will be rehomed or eliminated ICly.

Section 2: Roleplaying
A. Roleplay is required. This shop is heavily based on a storyline that can only be executed with the dedicated roleplaying of the Guardians and their Accounts.
B. Guardians and Lurkers alike may roleplay in the Guild but for Lurkers to RP in the guild then a Guardian must create the thread and grant permission to a Lurker.
C. No godmoding. No powerplays. Ecetra.
D. You may not kill off your Account or another's without the explicit permission of the Staff. If you decide so then you had better have a VERY good explanation.
E. Please no one liners. Try to keep your posts to at least a paragraph/three sentences and try your best to be grammatically correct as well as spelling.
F. You will be give a three month grace period in which you may take a leave of absence or hiatus where you do not have to RP but if you take more than three months without informing the Staff then there will be consequences.
G. The requirements are simply guide lines for you to follow, the are the minimum, so if you decide that you would like to develop your Account more thoroughly before a growth then that is fine.
H. Keep your roleplays to PG-13 please.
I. Please avoid roleplaying your Account at an older stage than they drawn for.

Section 3: Flatsales
A. Flatsale prices are 15k.
B. They are prompt based.
C. The prompts will be posted beforehand and adequate time will be given to write a response.
D. You must write your own, or you will be disqualified.
E. You may only submit one entry and only once.
F. Do not discourage others!

Section 4: Auctions

A.CI's and EI's will be taken at average buy price on the market. Please calculate your bids yourself, but do not try to cheat us.
B. Bid only what you have because payment will expected immediately after the auction ends.
C. You may not participate if you already have an Account.
D. Do not intimidate others or talk about your funds in the thread.
E. Do not discourage others.
F. Do not retract bids.
G. There will no sniping. If there is a last minute bid then the auction will be extended for another half another and if the bid stands then the auction will come to a close.

Heirloom/Key

Legacies begin as an item, an heirloom, that is part of a family inheritance which is some how connected to a great historical/mythical/fictional character of the family. The Key is also related to that of the Legend without it a safety deposit box can not be opened. An Heirloom holds a soul of a Legend until it is awoken as the Key is a dormant familiar until a similar time arrives. The Legacy and Key may be awoken by the accessing of their respected safety deposit box, which is done through roleplay. An Account will remain dormant until this has been roleplayed.

Child
6-10 years old
Heirloom and key have changed into a young child and an animalistic companion. They are innocent ( mostly) and naive to the world around them. You are their greatest influence at this stage take advantage as this won't always be so.

Pre-teen
10-13
Older and hopefully wiser heirloom and key begin to venture out on their own more. There are a lot of temptations out there and those who would seek to use your child and their skills for their own purposes..

Youth
13-18
Hormones and the reality of growing up, good times. This is a stage of difficult decisions and perhaps a time when your heirloom may need you once again even if they won't admit it.

Adult
18+

Kids grow so fast and then poor they've up and moved away onto leading their own lives. Hopefully you've raised a productive member of society.

What is Past Legacies Corp. ?
Essentially it is a bank that specialize in Safety Deposit Boxes that contain family heirlooms and inheritances that consists of a single item that is a Legacy.

What is an Account?
An Account is what is available at PLC. It consists of an Account Number, Record, Key and Heirloom. It is also the reference of BOTH Legacy and Key as a set or pair.

What is a Legacy?
A Legacy is an item that contains the soul of a legend. In time the Legacy will evolve/be born into a baby to be raised by the Account Guardian aka Keeper/Guardian.

Do the Legacies have to be based off real legends?
It would be nice it they were and I think until the time comes that we run out of legends, then yes. There are so many choices! Be creative... they should be inspired from real legends.

What happens to the Account Keys after the SDBs are opened?

The Keys play a special role! They are like Daemons/Familiars/Companions... whatever you call them. They take on something like a chibi/mini form of an animal that will be born when the Legacy is reborn . The Key and the Legacy are one, so treat them with care.

Can my Legacy be a -fill in with non-human-?!
Yes and no. They may have characteristics of a creature or what not but they are humanoid. Ex. A Legacy with a dragon background may have patches of scales or horns or dragon wings to give it distinctions.

Do the Keys have genders?
Yes they do and they may be the same or opposite of the heirloom.

Can I direct link?
Please direct link the certs only.

Do both Legacy and Guardian need to have connection to the family legacy? What about the PLC?
Considering that it IS a family legacy they should have a connection though it may be as large or as small as you like it to be. For example; if the Account you would like is that of Blackbeard, you don't have to be related to the pirate himself. You could well in fact be related to a historian who had taken done his life story or a civil servant that was searching the pirate or even a cabin boy who had been part of Blackbeard's crew.

In accordance to PLC, we have a connection because somewhere down the line, a family member of the Guardian had created an Account at PLC to keep the magic of their family's legacy. So there should be at least one person from Owner's family tree that has interacted with the PLC.

Does that mean that a direct descendant have to have been involved with the PLC?

No, not at all since it depends on the way that you approach the history of the Guardian.

Does PLC have a direct connection with the actual historical/mythical/fictional character in question, no they shouldn't. The Heirlooms are representations of the characters, especially their souls. So in a way yes, but largely no. PLC will know the history of what the creator of the Account gave privilege to at the time of the Account's creation necessary for unsaid purposes.

Though if I misunderstood your question and are asking me if the Legacy that will be reborn will be connected to the historical figure in question, well then yes. It is like being reborn again.

Does a Key have to be in constant contact with their Legacy?
No the Keys do not have to have constant contact, but understand that the Keys unlock the Legacy in more than a metaphorical term. It is highly advised that they don't stray to far or into the grasps of the enemy.

Can a Key survive outside it's natural enviornment?
Yes, they are magical creatures after all for all that they may appear to look like any normal animal.

Can the PLC be slightly different than the actual?
And yes, your Legacy may be different from the actual telling of the pirate. After all, there is always room for misunderstandings and other perspectives on how history or a tale truly went.

Who created an Acccount?
An ancestor to that of the current Account Guardian. They should have some connection to the family legacy by either participating, observing or something of the like.

Do the Keys have magical abilities?
No. The Keys are magic themselves.

Are Keys restricted to communicating with only their Legacy?
Yes and no. Keys may only speak to their Legacy and other Keys. The Keys can not speak verbally, but the do communicate mentally.

I have a question that isn't here.
Then by all means ask and it'll posted.
