Species : Melted one day from out of the woods. Most Likely a Dryad, though would like to think of self as an elf.
Art : Sketches ..sometimes ink, sometimes not. Portraits, mostly, but can do landscapes of town/school. Cannot colour for the life of her, as her colouring turns into a big mess.
Powers : Not much besides the ability to make trees grow. Because of them, her [wood] pencil, never breaks.
Personality : Generally nice enough to own a shop. Sometimes can lose her temper and storm out in the middle of drawing. Likes meeting new people, and getting to know them while she draws. Cannot stop talking. Has been told she would talk to a rock if no one else was around. After some examination, this was proved true.

→ on the inside Me? How to describe me? That's difficult. I'm...um..compassionate, I guess. I mean, loyal. Yes, loyal. I'm not one to leave my friends behind for anything. However, I don't like to stand up for people. Sometimes, they need to fight their own battles. I can seem like a bit of a flake sometimes, but you know what? That's my nature. Get used to it. I can be quite sarcastic and cold at times, and have a knack for tearing people down with words. I'll only say something rude if I don't like you, though. If we're on good terms, I'll be cordial. It depends on my mood, but sometimes, I just like to be left alone. Sadly, at those times, I'll snap at anyone who trys to talk to me.I've lost friends that way. Rather depressing. Oh well. That's pretty much it. Oh, and tease me about my name, and I might just toss you over a clift. Just warning you.
→ the truth You probably want to hear about the name, right? Hattie. I guess it could be a boy's name, if You didn't mind stretching your imagination...oh, who am I kidding. Yes, it's a girl's name. Yes, I hate it. But my mother didn't.
My mother was not a shapeshifter, wasn't a magician, wasn't anything but a regular old mortal. She wanted a little blonde baby-girl...blonde and blue eyed, like her father had been. Father must have been a shape-shifter [ or at least an appearance shifter] because I was black haired and black eyed. And male. Mother, of course, to care of me. What else could she do? Leave me in a dumpster? Maybe, but she wasn't like that. Good thing she liked children. But sometimes, I could just...tell. She'd have this far away look in her eyes that told me she still wished for her blonde bundle of joy.
I tried to take care of her, as I got older, but we sort of...grew distant. I learned about my shapeshifting one afternoon after school was over. I still remember that day. The kids across the street were playing baseball. They invited me to play, but I had never learned...I made up some rather lame excuse as to why I coudn't play...something like I was off to practice magic. One of the bigger thugs who was about three years older than me--making him thirteen at the time, teased me, and said there was no such thing as magic. I ignored him and went off on my way.
After the ball game said thug came looking for me--told me again that if I had any brains at all, I'd take back what I said. I was scared to death, and just wanted to get away--I turned into a Raven. I still remember the look on his face.
So thats about it. I found a boarding school when I was thirteen and exiled myself away. I didn't have to see my mother, and I made money for tuition through odd jobs and 'magic' shows. And some illegal gambling with the other boys at the school.
I joined Axaiic Academy at age sixteen, and this is my second year here.

→ on the inside Red is a very reclusive person. She tends to like the solidity of her forest cottage rather than the social school grounds. Over the years she’s gotten used to haunting the school every few days, but even then she keeps her hood securely over her face. No student has ever seen her face. There’s been some rumors a few have—but they’ve never been confirmed. What has been confirmed is that those students tend to disappear…The staff will tell you that they were simply sent to another school, but everyone knows the ‘real’ reason.
Red likes using sarcasm, and doesn’t like getting insulted. She’s extremely loyal if you get her on your side, though it never seems like it. She likes the new students because they don’t know of her, and as they are arriving, she tends to walk alongside them, pretending to be a new student, before breaking out and showing off her powers. Generally by making someone bleed.
→ the truth Red doesn’t really remember her history as a human, but she remembers everything sense becoming a redcap. It used to be she’d run an inn, back before coming to the school. It was mostly the respectable type, but every once in a while, There’d be a unsavory person at the inn.
These were dealt with quietly.
Eventually, Inns gave way to hotels, and red was forced to sell her business to make way for some community. Needless to say, the people who live in that community all now have hemophilia.
Red was granted permission to come live in the school grounds on the grounds that she must not harm students. The students will tell you she doesn’t keep up her bargain, but she claims she has never broken a bargain. Red immediately set up house in the woods just out of sight of the school. Every once in a while, brave students venture out to her cottage, but mostly, Red is left alone.
Students tend to tell mixed tales about Red ho dislike her will warn others away from her. Those who come to befriends her will tell you she’s rather normal. But no one knows for sure. Most students will just tell you to stay on her good side. Question is, which side is it?

Dormition—not really a power, basically just something she can do, which makes her appear..dead or injured in any way. She claims it’s useful because it keeps people away when she’s trying to think.
Hemokinesis—the ability to affect blood, even that inside of a person. Red tends to only control spilled blood, though.
Gyrokinesis--the ability to affect gravity. Red has gotten really good at this over the decades. She didn't have this power when she became a redcap, but over the years, she's evolved it to suit her.

→ on the inside Key is ...well, obviously not normal. She hates most humans because she thinks they have so many faults that they are just walking ...sues? Anyhow, she'll get along with them, she just doesn't trust them. And she'll tell you they get stupider as the generations go on.
Key has many obsessions, and goes to any lengths to proves she is obsessed with her obsessions. Like, Chess. She'll stop you in the hallways and tell you "Guess what? I'm winning! Again! I was thinking pawn to E-4, but if I had started out like that, then the whole thing would have come to a mess. Here--let me show you--" Then will pull out a quill and proceed to draw a chessboard on her hand/arm.
It's...slightly creepy.
→ the truth Key comes from a long line of Enammi. Enammi are basically a race which is known for it's obsessions with puzzles. They'll tell Riddles, write long mathematical problems, ect., ect. Thats one reason they hate humans--they see them as a race which can't think for itself. f you can rove to an Enammi you are as smart as them, not only will you have a new best friend, you'll have a guardian angel who will throw themselves in front of a bullet for you. [It helps that their immortal..] The way they see it? The smart humans must be preserved..at any costs.
Anyhow, Key is no different from any other Enammi. She had ten siblings, though she was not raised alongside them. Key was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, who thought she might be more ...intelligent? Special? Than her siblings. Eventually, they decided they were wrong, but Key hasn't. She lived with them until she was sixteen, which is when they [and she] decided she had had enough of them. Key fled from Ireland [where she was currently residing] ..but only made it to the train station, because of lack of money.
Eventually, Key began conning and tricking humans out of their money, which she saved up to properly run away. She heard of Axaiic Academy through eavesdropping, and decided it was the place for her. She couldn't abide the whole school thing, so she asked the headmaster if she could live in the forest, and has been there ever sense.
→ no, not the-- -Can travel through mirrors. Very useful. For her, at least.
