Tahki returned back to the den once again caked in mud and god knows what. The small lion cub couldn't care less though. Today had been a fun day of exploring and bouncing around in mud. Okay, so maybe she just bounced around in the mud. It was fun. Clearly she had enjoyed her self, the mud was all over her. Only small patches of blue and white shown through her muddy icing. From far away she looked like she was all brown.
Splish splosh splish splosh could be heard as she walked. The mud on her paws made fun sounds. Splish splosh splish splosh ~. Okay maybe she was doing it on purpose a little too. Maybe she just wanted to delay going back home. Today had been alot of fun.
Then a lizard scurried out in her path. The cub stopped and stared. The cursed evil lizards .... With that the cub charged said lizard causing the lizard to in turn run.
"RAWR~ I'll get you !"

Tana stared at his sister in clear confusion. Girls were so damn weird!! Rolling his golden eyes he tilted his head, she was chasing lizards now? She was nothing like their dignified mother or calm Aunt Ukosa...
"Uh..what are you doing?"
He was the runt and the only one of the cubs that favored the father that had sired them. "You look all icky and stupid."
AH a typical brotherly response. Sitting on the trail, he tucked his tail close so it didn't get in the mud that dripped off her. "There are easier way to catch lizards than chasing after them like a bird with a shiney."

Tahki skidded to a stop and the lizard disappeared into the brush. Great, lost the demon lizard. Her attention then turned to her brother , Tana. A bird with a shiney? Hmm? The cubs head tilted so far she almost fell on her side. Where had he come from?
Obviously he had come from their den. She was really close by and could pretty much see it. Yeah, that made sense. Still, Tahki stared in awe at her brother like he had just suddenly appeared. She really needed to pay more attention.
" Maybe you can be my shiney then ~ " She crouched down into pounce position wiggling her butt a little in the air playfully.

Tana's ears went back as he glared at her. If she pounced him, she was gonna regret it. "I thought you wanted the lizards?" That was the key, distraction. It worked wonderful with other cubs when they wanted to pick on the small male.
"I can show you how to catch those lizards if you want."
He licked his paw carefully, before rubbing it over his face. Hopefully his sister was smart enough to see that he was offering to help her.

Tahki sat up and grinned at her brother. She was unaware that he thought her playful advances were malicious. But still she sat up happy to hear her brother knew how to catch some lizards. Tahki had been tracking lizards for as long as she could remember but never had she actually bagged one. Not yet at least.
"Really?" Her head tilted some. "You'd help me catch a lizard?" Then she got on all fours and really looked at her brother. What did he know about the lizards she didn't?

"I just said I would!"
Flinching faintly he sighed. Forcing himself to relax, Tana sat up as straight as he could, thought that only brought his head to her chin. "Yes, really. I will help you catch all the lizards you want...once you get clean."
His golden eyes roamed over her muddy form and shuddered faintly. True he had a bit of mud clinging to his paws but how one could let themselves be SOAKED through with mud...disgusting.

Tahki laughed. She was caked in mud so bad right now she looked like a brown cub. Something , probably, unbecoming for a female. Yeah, probably.
"We could probably get all this," She motioned to her body , "Off faster if we could go swimming, " With that she chuckled and pawed at her brother a little playfully. This girl was just full of energy.
Then she jumped back and did a little turn around, " Lets go this way. I know I saw a patch of clean water some where round here..." The lioness started in slow paced walk humming some unknown tune. Tahki was a very youthful and playful and possibly adhd cub.

Tana sighed in relief when she agreed to go wash off. How someone could let themselves so icky was beyond him. Tossing his head, Tana got to his feet to follow her, walking a few feet behind her so she couldn't touch him.
"Now...what do you know about the lizards?"
He hoped she knew more than just they were fast and their tails would fall off. After all, the first step in hunting was to learn your prey. Then again...considering who he was talking to, there was a good chance she didn't even know grabbing them by the tail wasn't the best way to catch them.
He heaved a heavy sigh, but brightened when they came across a clear running stream. He hurried past his sister to go get a drink before she could muddy up the water.

Tahki looked back at her brother. What did she know about lizards... ? That was a good question.
"I know they are this prides number one enemy and must be destroyed. " Her youthful imagination started to run wild, "They run really fast and can be in multiple places at once.." Yeah, no , Tahki hadn't really studied her prey. No , Tahki was the type to run in guns blazing and not think. Who cared about a creature that was going to die by claw? Okay, so Tahki had a lot to learn still. Specially before the naming journey.
It was then Tahki seemingly disappeared right in front of her brother. She hadn't been watching the trail and fell, screaming, into the small patch of clean water. Instantly her butt, which she had landed on, started to show her true fur color.
"Owwwwww.." She hadn't liked that fall much.

Tana sighed as he watched his sister, clearly she was utterly hopeless. He had held the vague hope that another of his siblings might have the same calm ability to think things through as he did, but judging by Tahki's actions, she didn't posses that trait yet if she ever would.
"First get yourself clean, cause I will not help you otherwise." He sniffed giving her a prim look. For a male cub, he certainly was rather....proper. He certainly didn't get if from their mother, so he must have taken after his rouge father...not that any of the cubs would be aware of such a thing, yet.
"Then once you are clean and willing to listen, I will tell you what I know about lizards and show you how to catch them."
Licking his paw, her fastened his golden eyes on her and smiled just faintly, "After all...I have been catching them for weeks now. They are quiet tasty."

Tahki stuck her tongue out at her brother playfully before turning to the water. She rolled around in it , flailing like a happy fish. Splish splash splish. Oh what good times. She loved the water and the mud. Both made such found sounds. Tahki's fur was now all showing in a wonderful white and blue glory. Yup she was clean.
"TANA~" She cried splashing a big wave towards her brother.

Tana hissed as he jumped back from the wave she sent his way before narrowing his eyes to glare at her. She really was such a pest, if it wasn't for his promise to help her, he would have already abandoned his sister in favor of his own pursuits.
"Do you want my help or not? If so, then stop being a pest and listen to me."
Snorting he turned away, without waiting to see if she would follow, and began down the trail. His tail tuff twitched from time to time with his irritation but otherwise he seemed perfectly calm.
"Now then, the first thing you need to know about lizards is they are very very stupid." The words like you were left unsaid but was clear in his glance at her.

Tahki frowned and stuck her tongue out at her brothers back when he turned it. He was being a spoil sport. Ah well, Tahki forgave him for not wanting to play in the water with her. She'd have other chances to splash around water.
Oh right the lizards. Tahki had almost forgotten about those. The water had been so much fun. The blue cub giggled as she pranced after the other.
"Yes yes Tana," She smiled an innocent smile, "I was just trying to have a little fun. " Hmmm so lizards were stupid? That wasn't what she'd originally thought but it made sense. What smart person liked hiding under rocks or eating bugs?
... still the little demons were evil. Tahki was convinced of that.

He rolled his eyes as he looked back at his sister, she really was such a pest, it was a good thing they were siblings or he would never bother with her in the first place. Heaving another long suffering sigh, he waited for her to settle down a bit so he would have her attention again.
"The second thing you need to know about them, is that lizards are creatures of habit. They will come to the same rock, every day at the same time to lay in the sun , unless you scare them away. "
His eyes narrowed as his claws flexed in the dirt, " First you have to wait, never taking your eyes off the lizard. Best time to catch them is early in the morning when it's still cool or late in the evening when the bright sky light is fading. If you try to catch them during the day they will get away."
Clearly the little male had thought about this and had a hunting strategy all worked out. He flicked his ear as he looked back up at her, trying to see if she had understood what he said.

Tahki listened to her brothers every word and took it to heart. Early morning, late evenings habbits and all that. The little lioness smiled, this was going to make things easier if her brother was indeed correct.
"Really?" Tahki smiled down at her brother, "You sure are smart Tana. I don't think Id ever know that if you hadnt told me." The lioness gave her brother a big cheesy smile, "So you want to show me how its done bro?"
