Despite the fact of her argument being superior, she still lost to the power of music and heat. Kanna had ordered her to go and buy some lighter clothes for the summer, as this 'was going to be the one', and she really didn't want to have roasted Porcelain for dinner.
Meirou huffed, kicking a stone as she walked to the local thrift store, allowance in a small purse she had received from Kanna. Gaian clothes were just.....bothersome. She really loved her robes, every single layer of them, but Kanna was right. The summer heat was making her uncomfortable. And supposedly, it was going to get even hotter.
She frowned as she walked into the cool air conditioning, heading for the women's section of the shop to look. Of course, maybe she'd have an easier time in teen or child's....But then again, she wasn't going to disgrace herself by not checking women's first.

"They want HOW much for that?" Dori's incredulous voice carried across the aisles, causing several other customers to glance in her direction. Her attention was focused on a burgundy long-sleeved shirt Kiyo had presented to her.
Unfazed by her impromptu guardian's less then enthusiastic response, Kiyo smiled apologetically. She had been unaware the garment was overpriced. But she is sure she can find something else suitable amongst all the spaghetti-strings and tube tops.
"No, no, it's alright. It is a pretty top, and I'm sure you'll look nice in it," Dori amends hastily. Taking it from Kiyo's arms, Dori marches over to the women's skirts next, mumbling something about "thrift store my butt."
Kiyo follows serenely behind, taking in the varied items the store had to offer.

Meirou was also one of the customers to look, immedietly recognising another one of her kin. She fallowed them over, sending a happy greeting to Kiyo with a smile.
Is madame also shopping for clothes here for the summer, she kindly inquires, moving next to her in the isles, for Meirou is also doing that. Perhaps they could help each other out?

Kiyo clasps her hands to her chest in joyful surprise. Kiyo wasn't expecting to see any other Porcelain today!
And yes, she tells Meirou excitedly, Miss Dori is taking her shopping today! biggrin She points to the woman standing slightly further down the aisle, who is examining a rather horrendous pair of neon-orange short-shorts.
And she's sure Miss Dori won't mind if Miss Meirou joins them! Kiyo certainly would enjoy her company! 4laugh You wouldn't mind if Meirou looks at clothes with us, would you?
Dori looks up from the clothing with a start.
"Oh..oh that'd be fine," she smiles at Meirou in a shy, but friendly way. "I'm just going to head over to the used books section, you can come find me there if you find anything you want."

Meirou smiles brightly, seeing that Kiyo is most likely from the Golden World again, and then proceeds to ask. Is Miss Kiyo from the Golden World as well? Meirou arrived from there about 8 months ago, or so!
And booooks? Meirou gives a look over to Dori, about to excitedly bound over, only to remember the remark about roasted porcelain....
Meirou would love to look at books....Though she really does need some lighter garb than her robes. sweatdrop And Kanna would not be pleased, she remarks, but is quick to smile again.
So therefore, she will shop with Miss Kiyo. 3nodding

Yes, Kiyo is from White Whisker, in Ryuukoku. Where is Miss Meirou from?
Kiyo looks a bit shocked at Meirou's comment. Eight months? Kiyo didn't realise that one's stay here could be that long. Far from seeming ruffled by this revelation though, Kiyo's eyes gleam with anticipation. That's great! By the time she leaves, she's sure to have collected lots of souvenirs of this place. 4laugh
surprised And we should definetly join Miss Dori at the books after finding some suitable clothing, Kiyo projects as she pulls a knee-length cream skirt off the rack. Although she's not sure if she'll be able to read Gaian literature... what do you think of this skirt Miss Meirou?

There are many here who have been here much longer. In fact, many of the Dragon Knights are here, perhaps all of them! Though she's not sure there's a way back home....She does like it here in Gaia though.
Gaian literature is a little difficult at first, but once you get used to it, it's easy. And oooh~. That's a pretty skirt. Kiyo would look fantastic in that~!
Though the weather is very hot here, so the length helps a lot. 3nodding Meirou looks over some of the skirts herself, pulling out a simple white one with some embroidery. And this one~?

Ah, that is quite far away from where Kiyo grew up. Ren'yuu has been there though. She brought back a lovely doll for Kiyo. 4laugh
There may not be a way back? A quick flash of uncertainty and sadness passes over Kiyo's face before being replaced by her normal cheerfulness.
Well, she says as she puts back a pair of beige slacks, whatever the length of time is, at least she'll have new friends to spend it with. Kiyo smiles warmly at Meirou. Even though they have just met, she hopes she can include Miss Meirou in that group. smile
Do they have fantasy stories? They are Kiyo's favorite type. 4laugh
You really think so? It's so short! Although it seems Gaians like to wear their skirts even shorter... O.O Oh, and that white one has such perfect stitching! 4laugh Kiyo doesn't know as much about clothes as her sisters, but she thinks that would look lovely. 3nodding

Oh, so at least Miss Kiyo has seen the lovely little dolls that come from there! Meirou has only heard of such lovely places where Kiyo grew up!
But there may be. Things are still uncertain, and after all, Imperial Princess Rika arrived in Gaia as well!
Oh, there are many good people here in Gaia. There are even some Porcelain who did not come from the Golden World! Like Boyan. 3nodding And Meirou would love to be Miss Kiyo's friend~!
Oh yes. There are books on everything you can imagine, Meirou smiles, picking out a pretty pink top to go with the skirt.
Sometimes in the hot weather, shorter is better. But they also like showing their shoulders sometimes too, but not all the styles are like that. Meirou smiles at the skirt. Perhaps there is one in Kiyo's size as well~? 3nodding

The Imperial Princess is here? Kiyo drops the polka-dot blouse she had been holding onto the floor. Kiyo wonders if she arrived the same way Kiyo did... speaking of which, how did Miss Meirou get here? Did she have a dream too?
Kiyo stoops to pick up the blouse, and brushes some clinging dust off of it. Straightening back up, she leans close to Meirou as if to whisper.
Miss Dori doesn't know this, but Kiyo actually enjoys being a bit warmer than most people. Kiyo is just humoring her, buying new clothes; Miss Dori seemed happy for the excuse to go out.
Still, she would love to see if they could find a skirt like that for herself. Then they could be twins. 4laugh

Meirou nods, with a slight smile that fades as she's asked about her arrival. No, she didn't dream, per say....She got swept away by a wave, and a prince saved her and plopped her here in Gaia. He was kind enough to bandage her wounds and leave her his jacket..But she hasn't heard of him or seen him since.
Miss Dori seems to be a rather nice person, Meirou smiles, whispering back. She is sure Kanna would like her as well~.
Meirou suddenly darts past her to a rack that is full of 'Kiyo sized' clothes, and snatches a matching skirt. Mission Complete~! She grins, returning back to her friend's side. Twins sounds like fun. whee

Kiyo pauses and tilts her head slightly to the side. That sounds like it would have been quite alarming... Miss Meirou would probably remember that event very clearly, yes?
Oh yes, Miss Dori is very kind. A little odd.. but maybe that's a human quality. Kiyo doesn't know. sweatdrop Taking the skirt from Meirou, Kiyo grins broadly. Let's join her at the books and show her the clothing we found. 4laugh

Well, Meirou was sort of tired after staying afloat all that time, and her head was hurting a lot. She supposes she fell asleep on the ship, and he dropped her off here. sweatdrop She doesn't really remember it that well NOW. It's been the equivalent of 3 years and 8 months for her since it happened.
Odd is good for Gaians. It makes them different and special so they're not all the same. 3nodding Ohyesbooksplease, Meirou grins, projections pinging excitement and pure happiness about the books. whee

Kiyo's face droops in disappointment.
It's been that long? But Miss Meirou has only been in Gaia for eight months, correct? But if Miss Meirou suffered serious injuries, it would make sense that the memories would be foggy even if it was recent... Kiyo supposes it doesn't matter. After all, she arrived through a dream, somehow. Any similarities are probably just coincidence.
Kiyo resumes her sunny continence and follows Meirou, but inside she is busy thinking about everything Meirou has told her.
Dori is kneeling on the floor, almost hidden by a pile of books she has removed from the shelves. Even though Kiyo projects a shout ahead to warn her they're coming, she still looks very muddled and confused when she rises to greet them.
"Oh, all done? Let's see what you two have found."

Ah, that's the funny thing. It's been 8 Gaian months here, and probably the same time in the Golden World....But there's another occurrence that only happens here in Gaia.
There's the portals, Meirou begins, frowning. These portals take whomever enters them to a world that is being called 'The Silver World'. Though....It's very similar to the Golden World, it seems much much more different. It's a good reminder to home. But while years can pass there, only days pass in Gaia. That's why it's been 3 years and 8 months since the occurrence to Meirou.
Gathering up her clothes, she walks with Kiyo over to Dori, projecting another small greeting, and then, when asked, holds out her two outfits, both consisting of a skirt and top.
Meirou can pay for her own~ So Miss Dori need not worry~. whee
