A friend of mine introduced me to that quote. And it is especially true, when dealing with zombies. In this thread, I'll tell you about everything you need to know, location, weapons, types of zombies, and anything else you would like to know about.

Zombies. Yes, I said it, Zombies. One day they will be everywhere, overrunning the human population like insects, more created by the second. As I type this, somewhere, a zombie lurks. Somewhere...
But what are zombies? They are a variety of things. Depending on what type of outbreak his next outbreak will be, a different type of zombie will be created.
Outbreaks? The types of outbreaks include: Viral: (Rage) A virus like the Rage Virus runs rampant through the cities. This one would probably spread the fastest. the zombies created form this are smarter than other zombies, can run, and don't decay nearly as fast as others. The virus spreads through contacting fluids, bites, and wounds. Highly contagious and must be regarded to the fullest as a very dangerous outbreak. In 28 Weeks Later, the main characters are supposedly immune to this virus, therefore making it survivable.
Viral: (Solanum) The zombies described in Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide are infected with a virus known as the Solanum strain. This strain spreads as easily as the rage virus, but creates less dangerous types of infecteds. So far, nobody has shown any immunity to this virus.
Nuclear: Similar to the Viral, except he zombies are decaying, which makes them easier to kill, slower, and considerably less dangerous. Spreading this transformation is not known, it could be from fluid contact, bites, or even the terrifying thought of even being near them. Nuclear zombies would most likely be created form side effects if a nuclear war of some sort, that is, if humans remain after that war is over.
Cosmic: There have been theories that meteors could change people into zombies. the possibility of this is unknown, as is the effects. If this does happen, chances are, they will be similar to Viral Zombies.
Types of Zombies: Viral Zombies: (Rage)Definitely the most dangerous of the batch. They can run, have semi-rational thoughts, as seen in Land of the Dead, and don't rot like corpses. The infamous "Rage Virus" from movies like 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later, is the most common of the Viral Zombie outbreaks that would occur. A disease that enrages humans into murder is actually quite possible. These zombies would be faster, stronger, and more determined that any human to date. Using all of their strength to accomplish their goals is what they are about. This can also be a bad thing, however. Pulling their arms and legs from their sockets and breaking bones that would regenerate as slowly as a human's would... This will definitely slow them down. However, they won't quit, even if they're down to their torsos. Their mindset is immediately set to FOOD, not PAIN.
Viral Zombies: (Solanum) The zombies described in Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide are infected with a virus known as the Solanum strain. These zombies are dead. They decay like rotting corpses, and are slow, but numerous. Maybe not as smart and absolutely not as dangerous as the Rage Virus, but should not be disregarded at all.
*Voodoo Zombies: Voodoo zombies are created using voodoo means. Are they a zombie? Technically, no. they are still quite living, have rational thoughts and have senses, unless priorly removed. These are created using medicinal herbs that stop the bodily functions, as well as a bit of voodoo magic to control the host. Under no circumstances, should they be disregarded, however. The practice of Voodoo still goes on today. they can be killed by the same means as killing a human, as they don't decay and still are effected by bodily harms. Rumors say that are aware of fire and try to avoid it.
*Highly unlikely to happen, but eh.
I'm still updating this.

Weapons
Weapons, one of the most important things in any war. Especially this war. In this portion, I'll discuss as many types of weapons as I can, starting with the most popular ones. If you don't see your desired weapon listed here, please feel free to post something about it, I'll listen to suggestions.
Ranged Weapons Guns, Guns, Guns! Ah, guns, don't we all love them? As said in the Zombie Survival Guide, "Americans have an unhealthy relationship with handguns." Which is the truth. Most Americans own a handgun, and possibly more. Here's where I'll discuss the best, and the worst types of guns. The FLAMETHROWER Ah, yes, the flamethrower, a classic weapon to be desired in any zombie game. However, the flamethrower isn't exactly the best weapon to use in a Zombie situation, I'll tell you why, using pros and cons.
Pros: This weapon burns through anything, skulls, bones, flesh, trees, anything, just about. It can be used to kill zombies (Obviously), as well as clear areas of the dead that can be dangerous as they rot, causing unhealthy living spaces. If a barricade is blocking your way? Oh please, set it ablaze, would you?
Cons: Unfortunately there are more Cons than Pros in this weapon. >The weight of this weapon will surely slow you down. It requires gasoline to burn, space, and a good user. Chances are, this won't fit through the doorway when you need it to, metaphorically, of course. >Fire is more hazardous to humans than it is zombies. Humans can feel pain, zombies, can not. Burning a zombie to death is much more time consuming than it is to burn a human to death, due to the immense pain of being burned. If you're not good with fire, then don't even try to use one of these. >Fuel! If you didn't know, Flamethrowers use some sort of fuel to burn things. Fuels of sorts are usually gasoline, but can be substituted for acetone if necessary. Instead of using this fuel to burn dead (occasionally living) things, use your fuel to cook your meat, fuel your generators, and light your lamps.
The RPG RPG stands for Rocket Propelled Grenade, which is what it is, basically. This thing can be extremely devastating, to anything! It destroys living, dead, living dead, and scenery alike. And guess what? No fuel.
Pros: Powerful as hell. This thing can dish out devastation like a giant robot could. Piercing skulls and destroying brains? you don't even need to ask, it does it all. A building filled with zombies across the street doesn't stand a chance.
Cons: this thing is a hazard to the living dead as it is to the living. One foul shot and you're gone. The weight is considerable, it is heavy as hell. The ammo is huge and everything is hard to attain. Having an RPG is illegal, I'm pretty sure. But otherwise, this thing would be great, if you're willing to carry it.
Melee Weapons & Hand-To-Hand Weapons All in all, you're going to need one of these. The good things about melee weapons is that they don't need ammo! (For the most part) In this section, I'll discuss the best and worst hand-to-hand weapons, starting with the most popular...
