We were both young when I first saw you I close my eyes And the flashback starts I'm standing there On a balcony in summer air
See the lights See the party, the ball gowns I see you make your way through the crowd And say hello, little did I know
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles And my daddy said stay away from Juliet And I was crying on the staircase Begging you please don't go, and I said
Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess It's a love story baby just say yes
So I sneak out to the garden to see you We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew So close your eyes Escape this town for a little while
'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter And my daddy said stay away from Juliet But you were everything to me I was begging you please don't go and I said
Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess It's a love story baby just say yes
Romeo save me, they try to tell me how to feel This love is difficult, but it's real Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess It's a love story baby just say yes Oh oh
I got tired of waiting Wondering if you were ever coming around My faith in you is fading When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said
Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone I keep waiting for you but you never come Is this in my head? I don't know what to think He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring
And said, marry me Juliet You'll never have to be alone I love you and that's all I really know I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress It's a love story baby just say yes
Oh, oh, oh, oh 'Cause we were both young when I first saw you

It had been quite a while since he'd seen her. Since she'd gotten his head out of that cursed badger hole. They had been infants he mused now as he glided through the air, his fully grown wings carrying him with great ease. Since that day she'd crossed his mind numerous times even though his Mother had told him he may never see her again.
Now, as the sun was setting and stars had started to brighten the darkening sky, she was in his mind once again. What had happened to her? Was she ok? Did she remember him? He wished he could find out...

She giggled as she chased after the fireflies. Her wings flapped through the air on gusts of wind to give her a current to glide on once in a while. A smile touched her maw, as Jaya remembered nights like this when she was just a cub. Playing with her sister was always a treat.
But the stars played a different melody in her mind and heart. Again and many times before, she felt her sorrow sink in and stick for the longest of times. Jaya would always try and forget it, her mother had told her to. That it would be near impossible to see him again. Ever since that first day, he stuck with her no matter how hard she tried to lose the memories. His blue eyes and fur reminded her of the night. Goregous and something she'd love forever. Time and time again, Jayashri hoped to see him. That maybe fate would lead her back to him soon.
Jaya shook her head and stopped daydreaming. She went back to chasing the little light bugs around the sky in circles. Off in the distance, she thought she caught sight of silver wings, adorned with blue stars.

As he continued to fly on through the sky, his eyes had closed about half way. The memory was stuck in his head as he flew, this time he could not shake the intense feeling that they would meet again. Oh how he hoped it would be soon. When he looked down for a place to land, his heart skipped a beat. Those colors...she was an adult but...
He pretty much just dove at the ground, though he did hover a moment to cushion the landing. The colors he'd seen in the sky were nothing compared to what he saw now. She was beautiful...and she was an adult like him. "...Jay Jay...? Is that you?"

Jaya had landed and rolled over onto her back to gaze up at the stars. The fireflies were fun and all, but it wasn't enough to help her forget. If only for a little while. She closed her eyes so she could think about the now and then. If she didn't see him again, well heck! She'd go look for him.
Right when she was about to get up, Jaya heard her nickname called, and only one person called her Jay. "Lunar? Lunar! Is it really you?" she smiled brightly, as her eyes lit up. He'd changed so much, but he was just as handsome as ever. His wings shone in the moonlight along with his mane.

Lunar smiled warmly, more than happy to see her. It really was her. Jay...She had always been beautiful. But now, fully grown, she was gorgeous. The blues and purples of her fur and wings...the way her eyes seemed to shine. Nothing could make him happier right now than this.
"It's really me Jay. And I see it's really you too. How are you? It's been so long..." His smile only grew as he talked with her, his own eyes glowing with a mixture of excitement and joy.

Jay caught the sparkle in his eyes and smiled more. She'd missed him for a quite a long time, and seeing him now made her heart flutter. He still had that pink fluff at the end of his tail, she noticed and playfully whacked at it. Jay remembered the last time she had whacked at it, the fluff of his tail was so soft. Now it was silky and soft. He'd grown to be such a wonderful lion.
"Yes it's me, why wouldn't it be?" Jaya asked with sarcasm, then smiled up at him. "It has been long, too long. I've been good among other things, but I'm even better now. Lunar, how have you been?" she asked with some curiousity mixed with excitment and ecstatical joy. She noticed that when he spoke, his voice was smooth. It was music to her ears, especially when he said her name.

Lunar chuckled as Jayashi batted at the pink tip of his tail. Everybody else had made fun of him for that. For some reason she found it to be a sort of toy. He had no complaints though, it was cute. She'd certainly grown to be a beautiful lioness.
"I don't know." He gave a serious tone, but cracked a smile again to show it was a joke. "It has been far too long, I agree." He sat down and looked at her, the smile still there. "I've traveled to find...well you. For a while I stopped near a mountain where I trained and practiced things my Mother could not teach me."

Jay scoffed, but grinned and gave one more bat at his tail. She stood up and stretched for a moment, with her paws reaching far out in front of her, then gave one big yawn. Circling around him, she listened with interest.
"Aw your sweet," Jay stopped behind him and jumped onto his back. She giggled while tugging on one of his ears gently. "I've been looking for you too, for some time. I was afraid I'd never find you," she shut her mouth as her brain caught up with her words. Still, Jay smiled never letting it falter. She wasn't sure how much she wanted to tell him, but kept it at a minimum until she was sure she was ready to tell him.
"Training and practicing. Sounds like a lot of work there, but what did you train and practice?" Jayashri asked still tugging on his ear.

Lunar growled playfully as he felt Jay jump on his back and nibble on his ear. He moved his wings so they wouldn't possibly hurt her, or him, and squirmed a bit before giving in, letting her stay there.
"Your sweet too. And beautiful..." Before he thought about what he was saying, that had spilled out. His chest fluttered as he wondered if she'd be freaked out that her childhood friend said that. "My Mom couldn't teach me to hunt or fight. I had to learn it on my own."

Jay giggled and held onto his mane, but she was careful not to pull or tug on the fur. She looked at his wings closer, noticing how the stars looked like they were shooting across the silver. Just about anything about him reminder her of the night sky, and it was a shame to compare the two. To her it was obvious that he was the more handsome of the two.
"Beautiful I may be," Jay purred and lied her head on his shoulder. "And oh so sweet too," she had a little sarcasm in her tone, but fluttered her wings at the words. "Thank you," Jay said seriously and smiled. Her heart warmed at the words and gave her some hope. "You're handsome and you're on my mind a lot. When you're with me and when you're not," nervousness made her throat go dry, so she didn't say anything for a few moments. "Really? I thought she would. Did she want to keep you with her forever?" Jay was curious. Her mother had wanted her to stay, but Jaya decided to leave when she couldn't bear being trapped in the same place forever.

Lunar chuckled, relaxing when she returned with a compliment of her own. The bit of him being on her mind caused him to need to just look at her, so he moved, pulling her next to him gently. His paw moves across her shoulders, pulling her closer to him.
"You know, your on my mind quite often as well Jay. I can't help wondering how your doing." Lunar did not know what had gotten into him, probably just the fact that she looked so perfect to cuddle with, or the way he felt so happy to be this close. It seemed natural to have her there.
"She never learned how to actually fight. Her meals are smaller prey, so after I taught myself I made sure she had several chunks of meat from larger animals before I left. I also did my best to teach her."

Jay was surprised when he pulled her closer to him, but relaxed and snuggled up to him. She was nervous still, but kept quiet. It felt right. . . No, it felt perfect to her and she didn't want it to end. After all of the time she had spent looking for Lunar, it seemed fate was on their side. Jaya purred and curled her tail around his.
"I'm doing great actually. Exploring the Isle and wandering around here and there . . " She trailed off and moved her head to look him in the eyes. "Things haven't been that great in all truth. Me and my mother had a fight a while back before I left. She didn't want me to leave her, and I wasn't allowed to see you again. She told me it would never work," Jaya hung her head and stared at the ground. "But seeing you again proved her wrong," a small smile touched her maw as she brought her gaze back up.
"Well it's sweet of you to try and help your mother. She was so kind that last time I met her. Which was the first time too," Jayashri looked up at the night sky and wondered what her own mother could be doing right now. "I was taught by my father, but I never see much of him anymore. Mom, she visits once in a while."

Lunar smiled as their tails twined together. This was so perfect...the night sky...cuddling beneath the bright stars and beautiful moon. All nervousness had left him by then and left him with an immense amount of comfort and...well...love. For a little longer...just a little he'd wait. Maybe she'd say it first. If not then he would.
"I'm sorry Jay..." He watched her, feeling concerned as her gaze dropped to the ground. He gave her shoulders a comforting squeeze and held her closer, only relaxing again when she looked him in the eyes once more. "I suppose that is good to prove wrong. I honestly think it will work Jay." His eyes now searched hers, wanting to see any sign of his own feelings in her.

Jayashri leaned into him and felt everything melt away. Her fears and unease, everything that'd keep her from saying or doing anything vanished into thin air, it seemed. This might be your last chance, it's now or never, she thought. Taking a deep breath, Jaya smiled and nuzzled him, more affectionately than before.
"Don't be, I'm not. If it wasn't for everything that's happened so far I might not have ever met you. And I love you," she kept her eyes to his and never looked away. Even if she tried now, she couldn't keep her feelings hidden from him. Jay knew that as he searched her eyes. Those blue pools of his were beautiful and had a sparkle to them, brighter than before. She had thought it was just the light from the moon that made eyes shine. But as she thought back to a day her mother had noted something similiar in her own, Jay realized it was the love she was seeing. She didn't doubt that something showed in her eyes now; more than a hint, it was pure and true. "I don't care if I prove anyone wrong, all that matters to me is you."
