Who: Kelly and Bobby
Where: A Quiet Glade in the Forest
When: The Morning of Day 8

User ImageBobbby had gone to great lengths the last few days to set this up. He'd been hiking in the forest to figure out where most of the monsters were and also where most of the other campers were going.

During one of his hikes to get away from the Seagull's stinky cabin, he'd found the perfect place and had begun to set up this little surprise.

During the fire ceremony after the 3rd challenge (where Chris had been dressed like a Sailor Scout) Bobby had slipped the cheerleader a note at the bonfire.

Now, they had some free time, and he stood at the edge of the forest, waiting to see if she'd come. He was leaning against a tree, trying to look as nonchalant as possible. Next to him, on the ground, was a rather large box, the contents of which were hidden.

The cool Audio just hoped that his map had been detailed enough.

User ImageBobby had gotten to the forest early, but as the morning wore on, he wondered whether Kelly wasn't going to come.

To pass the time, he listened to his cool tunes and stayed in the shade, out of sight.

User ImageMaking her way carefully over the tree roots and other forest-y crap, Kelly clutched the note Bobby had passed to her. It was pretty much a map and an invitation to whatever he had planned. She shifted her bag on her back a bit more as she padded a little further. She sat for a bit to look at the map again. 'This navigating bit sucks. I'm probably lost and on my way to get mauled by bears. Then everyone can have a good laugh at Kelly-locks and the three drooling, slavering rabid bears who had a great meal.' She huffed, blowing her bangs out of her eyes as she got up again.

After some more time, she was cursing everyone mentally, including Bobby, Chris (How dare he have better hair than me?), Chef (I'm gonna get either fat or food poisoning, not sure which is worse), her parents (Stingy bastards, jetting off to Miami and leaving her home alone), her sponsor (^*%$%$*%^$*!), her rival (Stupid skank ho!), and just about everyone in general who breathed. By the time she made it to the designated location, she swore she'd pepper spray Bobby to within an inch of his life if he tried anything funny with her.

User ImageSince Bobby was waiting just at the edge of the forest to lead Kelly to the glade he'd found, he wondered why she was looking so pissy and muttering under her breath about getting lost when she drew close?

As the cheerleader approached he popped out his earbuds and stored away his iPod in his pocket. He reached down and picked up his backpack which seemed to be heavy, but he slung it over his shoulder with ease.... but why was it so heavy?

"Hey Kelly," he adjusted his sunglasses to get a better look at her. "Good morning to you. I hope you're ready to enjoy a fun day off. Do you mind walking a little bit further into the woods?"

User ImageShe eyed the bag on his back suspiciously. Did she hear stuff clanking in there? She turned her gaze back to his face, giving a small nod. "Hey, Bobby." She was very thankful that her fur was a deep red...that way it wouldn't show how embarassed she was for getting freakin' lost and walking in circles twice. Had she ever mentioned that she hated maps and really couldn't navigate well by them? She was much more of a mall person and she had that layout burned into her brain.

"Uh, yeah, sure why not? What's in the bag though?"

User ImageBobby got a twinkle in his eye.

"Oh, you'll find out soon enough when we get to the glade. I'm sorry if my map wasn't detailed enough... I was never a very good artist.

"Well, let's get going before Chris or one of the other campers comes to torture us."

He held out his hand to her, looking innocent enough.

User ImageShe gave him another suspicious glance before taking his paw. She then pulled out her pepper spray with her other paw and directed it right at him. "Try anything weird and I'll fry your eyes. Got that, buddy? I'm not going to be part of some Audio slavery ring without fighting back. But I'll trust you for now. You seem to be regular so far."
PostPosted: Wed Jul 29, 2009 2:55 pm

User ImageThe cool Audio took her paw in his warm one, holding his carefully, but confidently, his tail swishing in pleasure.

"Hey, a girl's got to protect herself, I respect that. You have nothing to worry with me. I promise to be a complete gentleman with you. I'll even pinky swear it, if you like?

"Actually, I was offering to hold your hand so that I could better lead you through the forest. I've been checking this out the last couple of days so I could find the best way to get you there safely."

Bobby smiled at her and then started leading the way through the forest. He picked their path very carefully, making sure to avoid branches and roots that would trip them up, as well as animal dens that they might disturb in their passing.

"So why did you sign up for camp Wawanawkwa?"

User ImageShe put the spray back into her pocket where it was still within easy reach just in case and took the offered paw carefully.

"That's not necessary. Pinky swears are only good if you know the person and how trustworthy they are after all. It's not like this camp is promoting trust since we're all backstabbing each other sooner or later." She gave him a questioning look when he mentioned wandering around the forest. Why the hell would anyone want to do that here?

She looked at everything, hoping to remember her way back to camp but gave up after the millionth tree was passed. Why did they all look the same? She gave him a startled look at his question.

"I sure as hell didn't sign up for this! If I had my way, I'd be sunning on the beach at Malibu or maybe swimming off the coast of Cozumel. At the very least I'd be with my parents in Miami. But they went without me and entrusted me to a sponsor." She spat the word out like a curse word. "I thought she was just a glorified babysitter but apparently she had issues with some of my actions and signed up for this torture session."

She fumed for abit longer before looking at Bobby. "Don't tell me you willingly signed up for this?"

User ImageBobby chuckled as he stepped around a suspicious looking plant.

"Poison Ivy, be careful.

"Nah, I was looking forward to going to summer camp with some friends. It would be a month away from the parentals, hanging out and doing whatever I wanted with my friends... The only catch was that I'd have to deal with some unknown sponsor as well, a cool guy from what I could tell... but then I woke up here. I'm making new friends, being challenged in ways I never could have imagined and I might actually win some cool cash, so I'm making the best of it. Best of all, I met you, and that never would have been possible.

"All in all, we can choose to stab each other in the back, or we can have some fun, keep our cool, and do our best. Chris and Chef are out to torture us, so why should we torture each other?" Bobby looked back at her, raising a questioning eyebrow.

He held up a branch for her to walk under, so it wouldn't mess up her hair.

User ImageKelly grimaced as she walked around the poison ivy plant as if it would reach out and grab her. Itchy and rash covered on top of the "luxury" of this camp? No thanks!

"Yeah, I wanted to go to cheer camp this summer like last year but things got...complicated." Cheer camp was really more of an excuse to hang out at a resort than anything else though they did practice and come up with routines while there. But hey, who was she to complain about getting pampered while doing so?

"When I get my paws around the throat of my sponsor....But who says there's really any cash? I mean Chris may say so or whatever but I bet he finds a way to make sure it doesn't get into our grubby paws!" She gave him an arch look at his statement.

"So why are you so happy to meet me? Never seen a cheerleader up close or something?" She gave a little snicker at his optimism. "You must be homeschooled or something. We're teenagers. We live to stab each other in the back to make ourselves feel better. It's how we survive."

She did give him a grateful look when he held up the branch for her though.

User ImageBobby shrugged. "Who knows, but there's got to be a point to all of this, especially if it's on National TV... so if Chris doesn't follow through, he'll have about 40 different lawsuits."

He helped Kelly climb over a fallen log, supporting her until she was safely on the other side.

"I've gone to public school my whole life, and I've seen plenty of cheerleaders, even dated a few, but none of them were like you. There's just something about you. That's why I set up this small outting so that we could get to know each other better without interruption, and so we could... well, you'll see."

He hefted the backpack back onto his shoulders.

"Maybe where you're from everyone is out to backstab each other, but I've got a lot of true friends who are always there for me, no matter what. Do your friends really stab you in the back all of the time?"

He let go of her hand so that he could part some bushes and indicated for her to step through.

User Image"Yeah, like there isn't some weird clause that will exempt him from everything. Like this was just a Candid Camera kind of thing or whatnot." She took his help and hopped over the log, her tail bracing against the log in case she landed on uneven ground. "But whatever, it's not like we can just leave so there's not much choice but to participate in all these weird challenges."

She gave him a skeptical look but kept going. She was used to people trying to play her to get into the cool crowd at school. If he showed those same tendencies, she'd give him the cold shoulder and cut him to the quick but she'd give him a chance for now.

She gave a snort at his "true friends" statement. Where was this guy from anyway? Iowa or something? "Bobby, the only reason why I'm really here is because someone I trusted took what was mine and I had to get back at her. That landed me in juvie and from there, here."

But she wasn't going to give him the whole sob story so she clamped her mouth shut on the rest and walked through the parted bushes, giving him a quizzical look.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 06, 2009 11:39 am

User ImageThe bushes parted and opened onto a beautiful grassy clearing. the grass was thick and lush, the trees towered above them, giving them the perfect mix of shade and sun to keep them from being too cold or too hot. The whole glade was ringed around by tall bushes and mostly hidden from sight, if you weren't looking for it, and, as far as the two of them knew, they couldnt' see any cameras spying on them. ((though, knowing Chris...))

"Here we are. The perfect place to enjoy a decent meal for once."

Bobby unslung his backpack and laid the heavy thing on the ground. From the top he pulled out a sheet from his bunk back at the cabin and, with a couple of flicking motions, he had it unfolded and settling on top of the grass. Gallantly, he indicated that Kelly should take a seat as he began pulling a collection of boxes out of the backpack.

User ImageOkay, she had to admit it. She was impressed. She wasn't sure if she was impressed because after a week here on the island anything would look good or if she was actually really impressed. She'd give it a benefit of the doubt and say she was really impressed. "Wow, who knew there was a place like this on this torture island? How'd you find this place, Bobby?"

She blinked at his statement of a perfect meal. The only thing she'd had that was decent here was the mystery fish she had gotten a few days ago. Wait....."Bobby, do you know how to fish?"

She sat down but her curiosity was definitely piqued. She peered at all the boxes, hoping for clues.
