The House has made Echo and her Parent comfortable in a room with pale gold walls and blue-grey carpet. The beds are covered with soft blue bedspreads, and there are two deep, comfortable chairs beside a low table. The window in this room looks out onto the woods behind the House, but it is shrouded by heavy, thick curtains. Everything in this room is soft, padded, and quiet. Even the walls are covered in fabric. The House asks that you not enter if you are not Echo or her parent.[Picture/map coming soon]

Sun Jan 23, 2005 Dear Diary, After working for The House for a while now it has finally decided to issue me a child to care for. I am very excited about this! She seems quiet and aloof and yet dependent on me, if it is even possible to be aloof and dependent... The only odd thing I have found about her is that she talks through odd Echos, which I can only guess is why the others call her Echo. It's sort of sad. She can only repeat what is said to her, she can't speak for herself... Or perhaps she can, but won't. I will have to see. Maybe she will reveal more to me as she grows to trust me more. Quote: Dear Diary, I found some guy wandering around the house today. He seemed a little shaken up so I'm guessing the House was having some fun with our guest, heehee. I took him to see Echo and he was quite impressed with her skills. That's my girl! Anyway, Anikara is as secretive as ever. I've never seen him very well but his eyes are so cool! Bright and green! Anyway, I'mm write more later... Quote: Dear Diary, Echo seems to like drawing. I think I want to get her a sketch pad soon. She's filled our room with random drawings of the house, it's residents, and a few people I've never seen before. I wonder if she made them up? Anikara finally ate. I'm glad. I don't want him to starve to death in his little room. I really need to get the light fixed in the hall where his room is located. It's so dark down there... Quote: Dear Diary, Echo ran off while I was sleeping today! When I found her she said the house gave her this book. It says, "The Knowledge of Shift". I'm not sure what that is but if the House gave it to her it must be alright. P.S. Echo grew up! Isn't that great?

~Growth Quest!~
Echo has progressed well. The House is well-pleased. Echo has been given a special task indeed. Within the deepest portions of the House lie several books of untold power. Her quest, should she choose to accept, is to travel deeper than anyone's ever gone, to the Heart of the House. Once there, she shall choose a tome to carry back with her.
Will it be Knowledge of Sight? Those with this knowledge know what is to come, and what has gone before. The Sight is a rare gift, and is often abused by those who do not understand it's power.
Will it be Knowledge of Life? Healing, curing and mending. All of these fall into the power which this tome will grant. With the right knowledge of oneself and what is contained within the tome - one can acheieve miracles.
Will it be Knowledge of Shift? These with this knowledge become able to assume any form in the world that they can visualize. This knowledge grants one the inherent instinct of the beast one chooses as well.
.. or will she choose to go further still, and bring back the Knowledge of the Unknown....
It is up to you. Choose only one. And good luck.

Echo suddenly looked up from her drawing and peered around the room. The House was calling to her as it often did only this time it had given her a task. She gazed over at Deshi who had fallen asleep from pretty much doing nothing all day. This was her chance.
Echo crawled to the door and looked up. The knob was WAY too far up to reach. She crawled back to her paper and crayons and quickly drew what looked somewhat like an open door... to her, at least. In truth the frame was barely a square at all and the open door was nothing but a green scribble. She figured the House would know what she wanted anyway. With a little puppy face, she held her drawing up to the wall, begging the house to grant her little wish. Almost instantly the door slowly opened just a crack.
Excitedly, the opened the door wider with her little fingers and exited the small room. The world was so much bigger when she wasn't on Deshi's hip and she began exploring the house, in awe and wonder at the discovery she had made, listening and looking for any signs the House gave her of where to go. She loved the House. It was always looking out for her as it did for the other members of the house.
Hallway after hallway Echo ventured throughout the house for what felt to her like hours. She had passed through the kitchen without so much as a soul seeming her and she had taken a path other than the living room. She hated the living room. People there were far too loud for her taste.
Her little arms where getting tired and she plopped onto the floor to rest. She was getting rather sleepy and yawned as her eyes watered slightly. The House was so big to her and she was obligated to move on for she had lost her own room along the way. It would have been impossible for her to find her way back. Perhaps she should have found a way to tell Deshi. It would have made the trip a little less tiring...
Suddenly a door opened next to her and Echo jumped slightly. She struggled to hide herself before she was seen but she felt herself lifting off the wooden floor by the back of her outfit. It was Anikara.
"What are you doing here?" he questioned her, his green eyes shining dangerously. He didn't expect her to answer. Echo just wiggled weakly as if to ask him to let go.
"Oh really, Echo? Where's Deshi. I'll bet she doesn't even know you are here!"
"Deshi doesn't know Echo is here..." came the echoed voice from nowhere as Echo looked down sadly, her eyes watering slightly.
"Hmmp..." he grunted and promptly dropped the child on her bottom. "Not that I care. Get lost." and with that, he escaped into his room and slammed the door behind him.
Echo scrambled away from Anikara's door. She liked Anikara but she didn't want to get caught before she was done. Catching her breath a bit she crawled to a door that she had never seen before. Slowly it opened into a large room filled with books. It was very dark and the only light present was the small candle sticks along the wall.
She crawled through, alert for any movement. She was without Deshi and rather edgy even if she trusted that the house would not lead her to harm. In the center of the room where several large books. They appeared to be rather old as they were tattered and coming apart. She also wondered what they where doing off their shelves but sensing fun and curiosity she ambled quickly over to them to play.
Deshi lazily opened her eyes and frowned at the drool she had left on her pillow. Rolling over to check on Echo she sat up as she noticed she wasn't there... and to make matters worse, the door was open.
Deshi sprang to her feet and rushed to the door, flinging it open and peering down the hall in both directions before running wildly out of the room. The first place she thought to go was Kimi's room but she settled for Anikara's since it was closer.
"ANI-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" she shouted as she pounded heavily on the door. "ANI-CHAN! OPEN UP!!"
"She's not here... "
"What?"
"Echo is not here. Go away."
Not stopping to ask how he knew Deshi took off down the hall again to search for the child.
Echo circled the books curiously. Her eyes kept wondering back to a certain one no matter where she looked and she crawled over to see why. It was purple. She figured that was one reason. It's spine was torn and it had fancy silver writting on the cover that read "The Knowledge of Shift" even if she couldn't read it yet. Her tiny fingers touched the cover and felt the raised lettering with glee. She liked this one and she hugged it protectively to her chest. She was about ready to have fun ripping it's pages out when she heard a sound behind her.
"ECH--!" Deshi shouted, only to be silenced before she could finish, a dead give away she had found what she was looking for. Rushing into the room Deshi scooped up the child and hugged her with a sigh. "Oh my gosh, I was so worried! Please don't do that again, Echo! You scared me!"
"Echo scared you?"
"Yes Echo scared me! I was about to get everyone in the House to look for you!" she paused to catch her breath, "Nearly died of fright! What where you doing down here?"
Echo held out the book. "For me! From House!"
"Fine, fine. Let's get you out of here." she turned to leave but paused and eyed the books on the floor. One by one she placed them on a shelf and then left the dark room.
((o.o Hope that was good... I have no idea what I'm doing. lol))
