White as snow, the lioness moved. Bits of read and black added to her white body. Silver web on her butt seemed to glimmer in the sun light. She wanted to hide her spider like markings but it was no use. She never found anything big enough to cover it that didn't look suspicious. Instead, she found a gold spider piece and decided to go with it. She hated her look, mostly for the fact she feared it would make others scared of her from just peering at her.
Red was the color for poison, she felt. Her head hung low as she moved threw the brush. She had wondered off from Raj. He was blind, and needed her. Though he slept peacefully under a tree where she could find him after her walk. She liked to walk around while he slept. He did talk a lot, and with Arachne being the quiet type, she liked a bit of silence to herself sometimes.
The day was very pleasant for a walk too. The sun high in the air, telling her it was about the middle of the day. She loved the day time. Much more then the night. Her red eyes peered around the land as she stopped. Deciding what way she should go now, as well as noting the way she had came so she could find her way back to Raj.

Chane, for once, wasn't hungry at all. He'd found a, miraculously, unguarded carcass earlier and ate his fill before moving on. Hunger sated he was looking for somewhere secluded to rest before starting the search again.
He had few memories of life in a pride. From what little he could remember, he preferred it to this life of solitude. Before he became lost, he couldn't remember once where he'd gone hungry. Now it was routine.
Despite his limited knowledge lion behavior he felt in his gut that his blind eye and lame leg where major disadvantages. They were too obvious. Any lion who encountered him would know immediately. Here is a lion who can not fend for himself. Here is a lion I could beat in a fight. Deep down inside he was confidant he was at the very bottom.
(( Sorry for taking so long to reply. It's been crazy. @3@ ))

( no worries )
It didn't take long before Arachne had noticed someone close by. Who, in her eyes, appeared hurt as he moved. She was too kind sometimes, yet she couldn't bare to see someone hurt. She moved swiftly towards the other, more of a trot then anything. He wasn't that far, and didn't look as if he was dieing. "Are... Are you ok?" She asked in a quiet voice. She stopped far enough to notice he wasn't in any real danger, but he still looked as if he needed some type of help
maybe broken a leg, or something. That's the only thing she could really tell from the looks of him. Though, she wasn't one to really know how blind eyes looked, since Raj was blind but his eyes looked very normal.

With Chane the partial blindness was obvious. While his left eye was a soft purple his right eye was a milky white. He turned to look at her, his head moving just a little too far to compensate.
"I'm fine," he muttered softly. He noticed her glance at his leg, "It's an old injury. I'm alright, really."
Every lion, no, every creature he'd met had pitied him. On one level he didn't mind. He might not be alive now if not for a few of them. Still it did little for his ego.

Arachne didn't pity him, she just didn't like seeing other's hurt. "Did someone attack you?" She asked him. She was curious on how he got hurt. She had seen some get hurt from other ways which they caused themselves. Though, she didn't think she saw someone hurt by another. She still didn't notice his blindness. But that didn't really matter to her. She just was worried about the other might be in some time of pain.
"I don't mind helping, if you need any." She told him. Sometimes she was too nice for her own good. Everything happened for a reason in her mind, she wondered if he had upset a god and the god put a horrible curse upon him. But she wasn't going to ask him such a silly question.

"No," he shook his head. "I was a cub when it happed. All I remember is pain, then darkness. It's healed as much as it's ever going too... and I'm fine now, really."
When she offered her help he looked down at the ground. He was full, for now, but there were other things he wanted. Since his return he'd heard lions talking about things he didn't understand. Explanations could prove helpful. Then again, he had no way to repay her. "Thank you, but I don't want to be a burden."

"Your no burden, really." She said with a kind smile. "I wouldn't have come over here if I thought you were." She said honestly. Though, she didn't have a ounce of mean in her. "I'm use to helping others, see my friend I travel with has no sight in either of his eyes." Well he could see color and shapes in one eye, but she imagined it'd be difficult to call that any type of sight like hers. "It's nice to help others." She liked to think that they'd do the same for her if she was in need.

"Maybe..." he started off but hesitated. What if this lion thought he was weird for asking? He thought for a moment. Well... He needed to know at some point. After all, it had sounded important at the time. He figured it was something he'd need to know sooner or later, and this was as good a chance as any.
He looked back up at her. At least this wouldn't be as time consuming as asking her to help him hunt.
"Maybe could you explain a word for me?"

Arachne didn't thing he was weird for asking, instead, she wondered if she could actually help him. She wasn't really good with words, or explaining them. "What word?" She asked. She looked slightly nervous, but she'd at least try her hardest to help.
She knew how hard it was when you didn't know what someone else was saying when using certain words. And most the time she never asked, because she didn't want to look stupid to the person using the words. To wait for someone else for her to ask was always the best way.

"Well..." he hesitated. If it wasn't already obvious enough that he wasn't raised out here this would prove it for sure. "She said not to worry about it when I asked, but the way she said it, it sounded important."
He shifted his weight a bit, "What's a slave?"

She thought about the question. She knew the concept of it, she thought. "I think it's where someone is taken against their will.... And are forced to do work they don't want to." She said to him carefully. "It's a horrible thing, I was told about once." Her mother had told her..... but she wasn't sure how long ago that had been so maybe it was a different meaning? "But it could have changed since then"

"Oh," he looked a bit confused at the thought but didn't ask her to clarify it any further. Someone had asked him a few days prior if he was a slave. He hadn't known how to answer then, and now that he knew what it was he still wasn't sure. He had been taken against his will, or was it without his permission? But he hadn't been forced into work, though they had made him swallow some pretty vile substances he'd tried to refuse. He shook his head. No, he probably wasn't a slave.
"It may have changed? Words change sometimes?"

"Oh, yes..." She said with a nod "Some do. The meanings of things can be altered depending on how many others follow with it." She thought on it. Maybe make it have two meanings then just one? She wasn't quite sure how that actually worked. "I am pretty sure it still means the same thing, though. Some words that are so bad, just never change." She said with a nod. And it was an horrid word. She felt bad for those who actually hold that word as a title of some type.

"I see," he nodded slowly, thinking that over. Words must not change too fast or language would break down. It would have to be a slow process... He lifted his head and looked out over the Savannah. Pocketed regions and close knit groups might change faster though. He'd have to keep that in mind.
"Thank you," he said, turning back to look at her. "I appreciate that."

"No problem." She told him. "Is there anything else you want to know that I might be able to help. Though I suppose I'm not the best Resource for information for such things as words and their meanings." She let out a soft giggle. She really wasn't that great with them, but at least she could try and at least give him a general idea of what she knows about them.
