i honestly HATE hey monday. whenever i say that, people are like, "but they're JUST like paramore." honestly, the similarities are more so with paramore's pop songs, like crushcrushcrush and misery business. well, honestly, i dunt even see the similarities in those. the only reason people compare them is because they each have five members and the only girl is the lead singer -_- plus, to me, it seems, that hey monday tries so hard to be like paramore. when they can't. that's probably not their motives, but it seems like it.

The big issue is that all new female fronted bands are being com[paramore]d to Paramore. Now I guess this is also a personal issue but I too front a band and I almost rather play guitar or something if we're just going to be know as Paramore 2.0. How do we break out of this? Because yeah a lot of bands have the same genre and sound alike but there isn't one go to band to set the standard. However, there's only one pop/punk/rock band with a female singer that we associate with: Paramore. For another example, the other local band we had in Missouri, Fight! Fight! Fight!

From a musician's view, I'd have to side with Paramore. Hayley has much better control of her voice, in comparison to the girl from Hey Monday. Lyrically, they both come as pretty angsty, but melodically, Josh owns.
I agree with the above post.

We;; honestly I love Paramore but Hayley Williams didn't corhner the market with female lead singers. But I do think she brought the female singers back. I don't think Cassade Pope is a great singer at all she can't hold a candle to Hayley Williams. There is another band that copies Paramore so bad the lead singer even sounds like Hayley Williams Hmmm Renfue posers I think so.

Well i just lisnet to Hey Monday's song Homecomeing and it sound like the singer doesn't have the same power hayley has on her voice and i agree with everyone on this page. Paramore did bring back the whole gril lead singer thing and every band with a gril lead singer seems to be compared to paramore i don't ino why.

I quite like Hey Monday. They're fun and catchy. But Cassadee's voice isn't as well developed as Hayley. Yes, she can sing, but her voice hasn't got quite as much power.
It really annoys me when people start comparamoring. It's like: "Wow, this band has one female and she sings, they're trying to be the next Paramore!" Dude, no. Obviously some of these female fronted bands will be influenced by Paramore, and a few may be trying to copy them. But that doesn't give people the right to label a female fronted band as a Paramore copycat. It can be a hard stigma to lose, especially as lots of people hate Paramore, so wouldn't give them a second listen. Trust me, almost everyone in the MF has a vendetta against them |:
Anyway, rant over. lol at Hayley's tee.

heartache in stereo this is all I have to say. I definatly agree with whole Hey Monday is another Paramore, but I disagree with VersaEmerge. I see them both as totally different bands, with hardly any similarites. Sierra voice is different from Hayley's on so many levels, but both artists can carry a tune, and Cassadee Pope is so far under their league. All three bands are different, but i'm just not a fan of Hey Monday.

the picture isn't necessarily talking about how all 3 of those bands are alike musically, but how everyone says "all girl bands are the same because they all have female singers"

PARAMORE RULES. Okay? Hey Monday isn't really that good, I only like Homecoming. To be honest, Hey Monday is way too disney pop for me. I mean Paramore is more punk. I mean Cassadee comes off very Ashlee Simpson. I don't see how people can even compare them, they are totally different genres. Hayley is a much better vocalist, and Paramore makes much better songs. No offense to any Hey Monday fans. It's just not for me.

The band at the bottom of the picture of the three bands is VersaEmerge. Her name is Sierra and she did guest vocals on a A Day To Remember song.
