Well, the snake is one of those contradicting symbols...
If you know the Christian creation story, you know that the snake is the evil, spirit thing that causes Eve to take the apple even though she's been told not to.

P.S.
Sentences are your friends.

Oh snaps.

I don't know to much about the bible either, but I do know that a snake has always been a dark creature

I could care less whether you capitalize or not. Just punctuation.

I don't follow the Bible, either, and for some reason I know the creation story.
People like you make me agree with teaching creationism along with evolution.

Oh snaps.

if you watch the movie Passion of the christ you will see at the begining, when Satan is talking to Christ, a snake comes out...witch Jesus promptly crushes.

The snake is a sign of the devil to us fellow Christians. When Adam and Eve where on the Earth, the devil was in a form of a snake. He tempted Eve to eat the fruit off of a Holy tree. Bringing sin into the world.

Since JK Rowling lives in Britian, and most of them are Catholic, even if she's not, she probably think a snake was evil.

Besides lots of people see them as evil.

And what would fit Slytherin or Voldemort better than a snake? A moose? D:

why i dont believe in creationism i believe in the evolution and i dont feel like learning it in school because this is surely THe usa and this isnt one nation under god although in the pledge it says it because that is a lie. i have freedom of religion and i decide not to have a religion and people shouldnt be forced to learn stuff they dont believe in.

Whoa there, you DO have a freedom of religion but don't EVER start bashing someone's religion because it's not the same as yours. They don't teach creatism in school, atleast there not suppose too. Your not forced to say the Pledge Of Alligence. The Pledge is NOT a lie...your are so ignorent you can't even learn the history of the pledge.
