"I shall go swimming yes I shall.. dum de dum..." He sang to himself as he trotted down to the shoreline. So far every attempt he had made of going swimming had been stopped by either other cubs or his parents. Apparently he was too small to be swimming but Llyr had other ideas. He was going to go swimming.
With his head held high he reached the water and smiled as it rushed at his paws covering them in the seas foam before rushing out again.
"Oh yes today is the day!" He was talking to himself, something he had a strange habit of doing quite often. He took another step forward and then stopped and looked at the water. It was pretty big... what if his mother was right and he was too small? But the she was small compared to that as well.
How long he stood there trying to decide whether or not it was safe to go in the water he had no idea. In the end he decided swimming was more important then him getting swallowed up by the big water and so he walked into it a little further.
"Here I come!!!"

"Llyr!"
Dafina came running along the shore, having spotted her brother as he moved closer and closer to the water. She had been near the water herself, looking out at the sea. She listened to the warnings, knew the dangers. She was as eager as Llyr to go in but she let the rules get to her so she only ever looked on if she did not have somebody bigger with her.
"Llyr," she called again, panting when she finally caught up with him, "Llyr, what are you doing?" Her question was not only accusing, it was quiet and almost envious. Was he really going to try swimming? Would he get away with it? Dafina glanced around warily.

Uggggh!!
He turned around and looked at his sister suddenly looking rather grumpy. Was she about to try and stop him because he really didn't want to have to have an argument with her.
"I am going swimming." He spoke in a seriously determined voice he was after all doing this no matter what.
"Why you going to tell mother and father?" He looked at her curiously. He wasn't sure whether his sister was going to tell on him or not.
"Why don't you come with me?"

Dafina looked back to her brother and blinked, staring at him with wide blue eyes for a silent moment. She weighed her options. She could tell on him, it would make her a tattletale but her parents might think it was best. She could not tell on him and then she wouldn't be a tattler, then she could just walk away.. or she could go swimming too..!
"I wanna come with you!" she said excitedly, dancing in the sand a bit before jumping closer, "Can I? What do we do?" Her attention moved out to the water, her eyes following it from one side of the beach to the other. It was awfully big but.. that made it more exciting.

What do they do? Erm....
"We go in the water and swim!" How to swim? He wasn't sure but he was certain that they would know exactly what to do when they got in the water. After all they were sea lions right? They lived here he was sure it would be in their blood or something.
He smiled at his sister and started walking into the water. It seemed to rise around him pretty quick and he was getting a little nervous but there was no way that he was about to show that. He didn't show being nervous!

Dafina nodded enthusiastically when Llyr explained that they would just go in the water and be able to swim. She was doubtful, but she didn't want her brother to think that. It was important that she do everything he could do, at least to her. She couldn't hide her worry once he stepped into the water, watching him until she was convinced it was OK. Once she was convinced, though, she was happy to dive right into it- almost literally.
With a laugh, she launched herself into the shallow water. Splashing around excitedly at first, only stopping when she got a nose full of salty water. With a snort, she slowed down and started wading out after Llyr.
"Wait for me!" she cried.

So the water was just a little colder then he expected but he carried on walking out into it though it really was so cold! He shivered a little but then forced himself to stop, he didn't want his sister to see!
"Its great!" He shouted and tried to start the whole swimming thing. It was a lot harder to move in water then he thought it would be. The swimming lions made it look so easy but he had his sister with him and together they would work it out before their parents arrived and told them off, which was bound to happen. He never got to swim!
"What you think of the water?" He asked curiously. He had only been allowed to play with the waves as they came in and never been in the water so he assumed his sister was the same.
