As I'm sure we all noticed, there was a freakin marathon on Nick recently, but answer me this...
Who else turned the channel before they had to watch Aang and Katara kiss at the end?
I couldn't watch it, I just couldn't. In fact, I decided playing God of War was a better alternative.

Wait a tick...Nick was having a marathon? Of Avatar? You mean, the actual NICKELODEON, not Nick Toons Network?
WTH...I never heard of that. D:
I'm only aware of them playing Spngebob Squarepants to death. I mean, forget that Avatar won them an award and got their highest ratings, there are RERUNS OF A NONSENSICAL SPONGE to be watching!

I was dogsitting at someone's house and they had the channel! i only got up to the western air temple though. But it's not like I haven't seen all the episodes anyway.
Oh and did you guys notice the new monthly collectible, the koi? Kinda strikes me as avatarish.

Sadly I was at my house instead of my dad's when all of that was going on, but my friend (also a Zutarian) was watching at her house and gagging xD

I don't get Nicktoons or Nickelodeon where I live, but anytime I rewatch the episodes online I just stop after the epic Healing Scene. 'Cause the way handled Ozai ticks me off, too. stare

Yo, I still can't even think[/] about the ending without getting ticked off, and a few episodes make me think of it, so I avoid them. Sometimes I feel like I took the ending too personally. Anyone else feel like that?

I haven't even touched the Finale since I saw it again at SDCC last year, save for a few Zutara AMVs I've watched. I don't know if I want to. I might watch it again eventually just to see the epicness of everything BUT Aang and Kataang.
And Rach, I totally hear you on Ozai. You mean the part when Suki, Toph and Sokka come to meet Aang and they start humiliating Ozai, right? I hated that part. Especially the little bit where you can see Ozai drooling. xp
I didn't like how they pretty much degraded him at that part, I found it tasteless. Not to mention I was already upset from just seeing Aang go Deus ex Machina and anticipating the "romance" to come. I remember clearly just shaking my head in disbelief.

Did they fail to realize that just cuz he can't bend, he can still push them off a cliff? I'd push em off a cliff if I was super uber evil. Probably poison them too, works much better. Like, really, whats more likely to work, a nice lady handing out soup to people who are tired and wanted criminals, or Someone bedecked in full battle regalia?
Bad tactics, It's really way too easy to take down those nations.

If I was Ozai, I'd be ticked off that Aang took my bending abilities, but I wouldn't go quietly just because of that. No, I'd use the political connections I would still have to take down everyone who got in my way. Then I'd laugh as my most powerful benders took Aang down while he wished desperatly that he hadn't taken the easy way out and just off'd me.

That's what a true villain would do and that's why they usually have to be killed. Or if you don't want your character to have someone's death on their hands you have the villain fall to their death! (ex: beauty and the beast, tarzan, plenty other movies)

And I kind of like the whole idea of some villains being killed, but not by the hero themselves, because in a way, sometimes it's the theme that they were their own undoing...Like Clayton who hung himself from getting angry and carelessly slashing vines without listening to Tarzan's warnings.
I would have liked it if Ozai was kind of his own undoing, like he got so drunk on power it just destroyed him in one of those ways. Though it goes without saying that Aang would have had to been less of a pansy, but he wouldn't have had to finish him off, per se.

OMG yes! So many examples of heroes who didn't want to kill the villian, but didn't come off as punkish. I still loved Tarzan and Beast even though they didn't strike the killing blow. Even the 7 Dwarfs still have my respect. They didn't run from the fight and the witch still died. Granted, in order for me to still respect Aang, it would take a lot more than just killing Ozai at this point. He'd need to stand up and be a man about the fight. The same fight that he had been training for for the entire series.

LOL xd I like the sound of that.
Besides, I disagree with the whole "no meat thing" on the basis that at least an animal is dead when I cook it. You can't hear a vegetable scream! It can't run away! Which is conveniant yes, but still kinda sad.
And on a more realistic note, My family is Buddhist and while we do value life, but we also know when to take it and stop being a pansy. A real person knows that you take the one to save the many because it's a basic teaching in the practice. Aren't Airbenders supposed to be Buddhist? People need to research more. scream
And how many people died when they took out all the airships? Falling to their death into firey pits of hell? Or when Aang blew up the drill? There are so many unshown deaths in that show that Aang is actually responsible for. sad
P.S. why don't we have a fanfiction subform on this site where we can post? Is it funds? Cuz I'll donate the funds to make said SF

SO MUCH AGREEMENT. Ozai wouldn't have gone down that easily, and the way they just mocked and belittled him while he sat there and drooled was just... Ugh! What, does loosing bending make you physically handicapped, too? He can't get up and push them off the cliff? :/ And, um, what exactly is that saying about... Well everything in the show? Just because Ozai lost his bending doesn't mean he can't fight! Look at Azula during the eclipse, and Sokka, and Suki, and half the characters in the show! I mean, Teo can't even move half his body but he can still fight!. Plus, Ozai was a ruler of a nation - there's bound to be people who still support him! Just... fjgfdsj It baffles me. (though, in related news, this is a good comm for Finale related venting. xXDarling-ViolettaXx: There is a place for fanfiction. It's the "Storytelling" thread. Sorry if the title is a little misleading. ^.^;
