Manji stood in the training grounds awaiting the arrival of new shinigami's from the academy, as the captain of squad five, Manji, volunteered to personally train and help the young upcoming soul reapers, with what would be there first, of many hard, draining, and agonizing days of training they had to look forward to. Which could have been the reason the captain enjoyed Zanpakuto training day. With a sly smirk across his scared face, one hand resting on the hilt of his very own, simplistic, yet elegant Zanpakuto. It was rare to see Manji without a hand on the beloved Zetsumei Denrei, in any case, today was going to be a fun day.
Once several of the fresh meat arrived Manji walked the length of them, looking at each one in the eye, seeing who averted and who locked eye contact with him. After sizing up the new recruits, the captain of squad five, stands in front of them to introduce himself. " Welcome, congratulations on getting this far, my name is Manji, but you all will call me Captain Manji, sir, and if I don't hear the sir on the end of every word I ask you to speak, I will not hesitate to make an example out of you. Class is over, no more books and research, this is where most of you will fail and your dreams crushed, quite possibly by me, but a select few of you will become high ranking members of the new soul society. Do I make myself clear?"
"Alright first lesson, gathering and focusing your reiatsu, now no doubt I'm sure some of you already know a little about your own spiritual power, well save it cause no ones interested. Everything you know up to this point is worthless, never fear though, you play by my rules, and give me the proper respect I deserve and we'll make hell a little less gruesome on your fragile asses. " Smirking lightly, keen hazel orbs looking along the line of cadets, before he goes on to speak. " Take stance, pick a hand, clear your mind, focus and collect your reiatsu in the palm of your hand. Imagine it taking form, feel the flow of spiritual power through your body. Once you're able to manifest and control a sphere created from your reiatsu we'll move to step two."
The smirk was off his face now as he watched the unresponsive line of shinigami starters, stare blankly back at him, to further clarify how serious he was about making it hell on them he suddenly released an enormous amount of spiritual power to swirl about his body, easily overpowering the trainee's, as he let just enough out to make even the slightest movement extremely difficult, as if a ton of bricks was pushed upon each of their backs, and he continuously kept this high spiritual pressure radiating from his body. " Let's go, get those hands up, start creating some reiatsu or I'll show you how long it takes to put each of you down without touching you."
