"Mark I Smooth-bore Shotgun", a.k.a. "Little MISS"
The "Mark I Smooth-bore Shotgun" or "Razor Blast" or "Little MISS" is simply a shotgun consisting of all the best parts of such a weapon class, firing specialized ammunition. The Razor Blast is an 8-gauge, semi-automatic and pump action capable shotgun that is fed from a 6 round detachable box magazine; an under-folding wire stock helps shrink its overall profile in close quarters. Though a similar device exists as the secondary on the "Whisper" weapon system, the creator noticed that Terran Republic forces lacked a dedicated version of such a weapon, and as a gesture of good will, created the Razor Blast. Though injured and under watch, the creator had the first working example quickly assembled using a few cannibalized components of the "Sugar" and sheet metal, incidentally ensuring optics comparability with the cannibalized weapon, and low production cost. The ammunition was based off of much older Terran designs easily accessible on database and relegated to hunting, but revamped for use against Drathonians. Reliability was also ensured due to the selection of an ancient yet robust gas operated, rotating bolt mechanism. Due to construction materials, the Mark I is heavier than most conventional weapons. Interestingly, this weapon was first created as a present for Admiral Evelyn.

**Power:
--Razor Shot Shell: Medium
--Explosive Shape Charge Slug: Medium-High
**Shot Types:
--Razor Shell: The standard shell for the MISS is classified as an 8-gauge by old standards, holding 12 arrowhead like projectiles made out of hardened, stamped tungsten. The projectiles themselves have had a special 'twist' or 'curls' applied to the overall shape in order to promote spin similar to a bullet, and therefore increase accuracy. The 12 projectiles are stacked on one another much like slips of paper in a cylinder; the razors are placed within a sabot jacket inside the shell. The sheet tungsten arrowheads, or razors, are approximately 1.2mm thick and are exceedingly sharp from the stamping process. Due to their shape, hardened tungsten alloy, sharp edges, and the utilization of modern high pressure propellants, the recoil is high despite the low ammunition weight (compared to traditional 00 Buck). It can penetrate Drathonian skin, with very tight shot grouping at 50% accuracy against a Drathonian sized target around 150 meters. It is estimated that two to four rounds to the chest are necessary to immediately and fully incapacitate a Drathonian, but a round or two with enough time will cause incapacitation through blood loss; a well placed shot to the limb will most likely cripple its overall performance.
--High Explosive Anti Drathonian Shot Slug: A metal slug containing a shaped charge designed to both pierce the target with a stream of molten metal, and blast it apart. Upon contact, the shaped charge detonates, sending forward a high speed jet of molten metal followed by the shock-wave. The hole created is then suddenly expanded by the hot gases from the explosion, leaving behind an enlarged wound cavity. The explosion that forces the copper cone to become a jet of hot metal is exceedingly dirty, often leaving behind a large black smoke 'poof' at the site of impact. It is guessed that one to three rounds will produce instant incapacitation, though one round will certainly cripple overall fighting capability.
**Mode Information:
--Pump Action: The forward heat shield/hand grip is capable of being slid forward and back, manually loading a shell, and ejecting a previous one. The chamber can be opened this way, allowing for reloading of a still attached magazine through the ejection port. By pumping without firing, shells can be ejected out of the magazine. A single shell is fired at trigger pull, requiring the chamber to be manually reloaded by pumping the grip.
--Semi-Automatic: Excess gases are captured and diverted into a gas tube and piston which drives back the bolt of the firearm, effectively ejecting the spent shell, loading a new one, and cocking the hammer. A shell is fired for each trigger pull.
--2 Round Burst: The assault rifle like firing mechanism becomes apparent with the usage of this mode. Two rounds are fired at trigger pull, with the firing mechanism rapidly cycling at 25 rounds per second. The two shells are fired off so rapidly, that the recoil felt by the user resembles a single shot, ensuring accuracy.
**Features:
--Low Manufacturing Costs
--Safety/Fire Mode Selector doubles as a dust cover
--Optics Capability with S/GUR Assault Rifle
--Iron Sight
--Sugar Grip and Trigger
--Uncanny Reliability and Durability
--Bottle/Can Opener (Wire buttstock lower edge)
**Notes: In appearance, this weapon resembles the Ancient Saiga 12 or SPAS 15 used by the Terrans long ago, and even has it's firing mechanism resemble the design, despite the fact that the inspiration for the Razor Blast came from a different species' own older weapons.
The '1st Edition' of this weapon system had it's outer components silver plated, then wrought with highly decorative gold alloy patterns. There is a light coat of transparent, corrosion resistant alloy electroplated over it all for durability. The gold was carefully crafted to resemble vines and blossoming flowers of unknown origin, presumably native to the creator's home planet.
