So. Random topic. How are religions alike and how are they different. Pick two and give examples of how they are alike and different. Ready. Set. Go.

I can give you three with a very important similarity. Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Now, what could these three religions who have been killing each other for years possibly have in common?

give up?

Ok. I'll tell you, they all have the same GOD!!!

Take all the world religions. They all preach a good message of peace and love, but what really comes out? Hate, dissent, overall badness! That's why I hate religion! AUGH IT ANGERS ME TO NO END!

It's not religion's fault that people are ignorant.

But religion is man's attempt to rebind ourselves to God. In the beginning, it was all about relationships. Then we fall away, and getting to know God gets turned into rituals and all that bullcrap....

...unless.....I think I heard about one sect of Buddhism that does not acknowledge Buddha as a god, but they just meditate to get enlightenment or something....

I believe all religions are the same in the sense that every one is working toward the salvation of their souls in essance. They all want to better themselves in some way or another. Also they all have a belief in some sort of higher power, have ordinances that are sacred to them.

There are pagans who are atheistic, Satanists who are atheistic and Buddhists who are atheistic.

Satanists tend towards choosing a deity that best suits thier needs. or else creating one. other than that we choose to regard ourselves as the deity that we must please. so technicaly Satanism does have a god and is my concequesnce not atheistic.

Um what's that religion called that you don't go to heaven, you're just reincarnated as random creatures....? I don't think there's a god in that religion. I'm more than likely wrong because I'm only learned in the Bible. And "your mom is so old" jokes. (I will demonstrate in the Chat thread mrgreen )

Hinduism...Maybe I over generalized, but all people in religions seem to have the goal of achieving some thing better than what they are.

Same: They are created by some source, either by man or divinely inspired.
Different: Any and every way possible.
