Moray was sure they were going to camp out in the rouge lands until Nadra was ready to leave. She was starting to get so round these days and it was getting hot. The traveling would be hard on them both, but mostly for the pregnant one. She was starting to get so round and hot just with a few hours walking and Moray was getting nervous about it. They had to find a home fast, or the cubs would be in danger. So Moray was making quick work of their rests, doing all the hunting and prowling. It was her job now. To make sure Nadra was well rested. But now she was off hunting as Nadra rested under a fallen tree. Morays white paws padded quickly along the dusty ground, her eyes keen for anything they could eat.
Zuri was stalking some zebra not far off from Moray, unrealized the white female was around. Her ears twitched listening for any idiots that would come about scaring off her food. She'd been traveling with Nazar for a while now. Unsure what else to do other than find something to eat. Her tail flickered as her hunches coiled stopping just far enough away to not scare them and be able to get the upper hand.
Zebra was her second favorite next to rabbit because you could chase those around 'playing' with said food before eating.
Moray scented the lioness before she saw her. She stopped, her ears swiveling and listening for her. She for one did not want to meet anyone on their trip, it could be dangerous. She also did not want to part with Nadra at any point. She lifted her head, on tip toe, and spotted the yellow lioness not far from her. She could tell she was doing something important and simply sat down slowly, not wanting to interupt her. She for one, hated losing prey because of something like that. She decided to watch the yellow lioness, a stranger to her.
If anything, she would help bring down an animal if the lioness needed help.
Zuri's ear flicked as she smelled the wind shifting. A soft growl knowing that it was going to cause the zebra to run. So she bolted before they had a chance, aiming to tackle the nearest Zebra. They'd smelled her just before she started to go for them. "Ugh stop running." She managed to cut one off from the herd, however she was finding it a little hard to catch the thing, until she hit it in the hind quarter slowing it. She caught sent of the other lionness. "If you want" She called while chasing the zebra in between breaths. "It'd be easier to have at least one more side blocked!" She wouldn't mind sharing. It was after all a bit lager than she normally attempted to catch for just herself.
Moray lifted her head upon hearing the lioness call and was on her feet instantly, chasing quickly after her. This was great, a quick meal for her beloved before they traveled again. She spotted the lioness and made her way to the zebra's other side, throwing herself at it with all her strength. They could either run it til it was tired or knock it down. She for one didn't care. "Thanks!" She called over, swiping at the creatures legs.
Zuri grinned as she kept running making sure the zebra wouldn't get back to the pack. Her tail flickered as the zebra headed in a different direction coming closer to the white female. Zuri was ready however if it shifted back towards her to ram it.
Moray took that moment to lunge at the zebra and land upon its back, her teeth grabbing hold as her claws dug deep. She wanted this zebra to tire out and start to lose ground. She had to get her mate meat and this would be the best and easiest way by far. She started to hang herself off the zebra's side to make its balance thrown off.
Zuri ran beside of it making sure the lioness wouldn't get hurt as she pondered swiping at the legs of the animal. One ear laid to the side as she followed before finding a place to add a swipe that wouldn't hurt the lioness and would help slow the zebra. Batting with claws out at the chest of the zebra she grinned as it seemed to be giving up.

Moray put all her effort into throwing the Zebra onto its side. She heaved and gripped the animal tightly, feeling her muscles ache from lack of use. She had to get this animal. She felt her paws beginning to slip. A paniced look came across her face as she started to fall side ways, and she bit down onto the animal to keep from falling
Zuri noticed the other lionness starting to fall, and she tried her best to get infront of the animal and just dead stop letting it hit her in the side. She winced a bit at the jolt but if it'd help the lioness to keep from falling then it was all important to put this chase to a dead stop so the other didn't get hurt.
Moray felt the animal jolt and could only see the lioness getting struck. She growled, throwing her weight against the animal in its time of pain and feeling it starting to tip sideways. She clambered over it, trying to get to the side of it where it would not fall on her. With one big throw, the animal toppled over and Moray made work to end its life quickly. She was panting. She lifted her head to see if the stranger was alright. "Are you hurt?"
Zuri shook her head, "I'm fine." She said looking at the other, "Name's AuriZuri, but most call me Zuri." She sat down looking at the Zebra, "So, I'm guessing you were out hunting too then." Her tail flickered as she looked over the zebra.
Moray sat down and panted for a moment, glad the hunt was over. She swallowed and looked up, a smile on her pale face. "Nice to have hunted with you Zuri. I am Moray." She said, giving her head a bow before tossing her head tuft. "Yes. I was hunting for my mate Nadra, who is heavily pregnant... she can't find herself food right now. I saw you hunting but didn't want to interrupt... and I think having help really made it easier in my opinion!"
Zuri chuckled and flicked her tail. "Ah I see." Her ear flickered, "Hum. well perhaps if you have a pregnant mate...." She paused seeming to think about something for a second. "I think you need the zebra more than me then." She nodded, "And nice to meet you Moray."
Moray quickly shook her head. "No-no... you eat some too. We don't need much at all really.. and you helped-and it was your prey in the first place. I won't just sit and take your food.!" she said, wrinkling her white forehead. She nudged the animals body with her nose. "At least sit and eat with me for a moment. Nadra is asleep right now so it doesn't matter when I get back to her. She will be alright." She said, looking hopeful to spend a quiet moment with a stranger
Zuri chuckled and shrugged, "Well" She yanked off a leg from the Zebra, "The legs are always good." She smiled and started chewing on the meat. She paused looking at Moray, "Not to pry.... but you said your mate was a female?" She looked curiously, it was apparently the first time she'd heard of such and slightly curious. "I-if that's true, how'd she'd get... pregnant if you don't mind my asking?
Moray chuckled. She got that question a lot actually. "Yes. She is female. She got pregnant by a male, like most of us do, so that we can raise the cubs as our own. We just, love each other. Like Male and female only, a little different. It's a popular thing from my old pride really." She said, smiling. "This will be her first litter of cubs. I have had one, they are all grown up." She paused. "So now it is her turn to have some cubs to raise. I already had my fun" she added. She sat back and watched the lioness eat.
Zuri tore off another peice of meat and finished it before speaking again, "It sounds like an interesting ordeal."
It still sat in zuri's mind wondering what that sort of thing would be like, "Isn't it weird though, to know your mate had children by a male? Or... did you both approve the male together?" She felt silly for asking these sorts of questions.

Moray chuckled. "Nope. I don't know what the male looks like. He just came and went. He did his job and that is all we care about. As long as they are our childeren we will only treat them as such. The male I chose was a leopard and he was brightly colored. I only met him a few times. " She said, making a sour face. She hated him now. He was cruel and a liar and a theif.
Zuri tilted her head she was idly eating while listening she flicked her ears back slightly, "I'm sorry" She saw the sour face, "It's ashame when things happen like that."
She paused and thought, "Huh... i met a leopon once, a while ago. I think she was lost or something." She nodded, "It's interesting to see mixed breeds sometimes."
She chuckled, "But at least you love your kids....." She trailed off her mind going back to her own mother who left her... a slightly sad look crossed her face before she shook her head.
Moray nodded. "I love my cubs very much and they are all so grown now... It makes me sad-because we have all split our ways but, I am glad they are grown and happy. My mate is not to largely pregnant so hopefully she will have a small liter, I myself had four leopons." She said proudly. "two girls and two boys. A good number I may say!" She said, sticking out her chest.
Zuri smiled and nodded, "indeed, I had a twin... there was only two of us... that I know of anyways..." She nodded as she nomed on another peice of meat..
She chuckled. "I had four siblings and as far as I know, my parents are still going strong with cubs. I left a while ago so I am not totally sure but-I can be pretty positive they may have had some more cubs after me." she said sofltly, almost sadly. "I miss them but I cannot go back ever, so I must keep strong for Nadra and our cubs. They need me and I need them. We are heading to the Anteira pride! " she said happily. "We can have our cubs there and be safe! I am so excited!"
Zuri nodded, "Atleast you have a safe place.... I'm actually looking for my mom..." She said after a few before taking another bite of meat. And finishing it, "I'd rather cubs know thier mothers... well at least two parents if not both being mothers as you two seem to be."

Moray smiled. "Yes. I know what you mean. I almost had to give birth to my batch alone... but Nadra found me and helped me raise them as her own. I think that really made it a real family. I really do!" She said softly, looking down and starting to chew off a hind leg to take back to Nadra.
"This will be her first time as the mom-which should be very funny. But I think she will do well enough with me beside her!" She said with a small smile. "I should be heading back to her though... when she wakes up hungry she gets a bit testy!" She added with a laugh

Zuri nodded, "Yeah you wouldn't want her being without food."
She watched the female chew off one of the legs, "Huh, make sure to take enough back for you too, where I come from it's bad to waste food." She chuckled looking at the Carcass wondering what she'd do with the rest of it.

Moray nodded with the leg in her mouth. She turned to leave and stopped, putting down the meat. She went to Zuri and gave her a bow, her purple eyes shut. "Thank you! It was a pleasure meeting you! I am sorry we didn't get to talk more" She said with a smile, turning and picking up the leg. She then gave a wink and was gone.
She would come back if she had too, if only to stop and talk more.
