Tamba was still a flurry of mixed emotions at the moment. Caught between daughters - one missing, the other settling in to leadership - he couldn't seem to give attention to one without drifting to the other. If he was out searching for Siyasura, his mind wandered back to Tamu, wondering if she's alright and managing well. And then when he DID spend time with his increasingly confident daughter, he felt guilty that he wasn't out looking for Siyasura.
Today was perhaps a nice day off for him. He'd thought of something to help the pride and it didn't conflict with either of his daughters. Carrying all manner of dried stringy weed, shells, driftwood, fishbones and bits of blue fur from his own pelt, he skirted the very outsides of his pride's territory and searched for suitable objects to tie things to.
After several boulders and rocks, it was nice to find a sturdy tree for a change. He clumsily had to walk himself and the weed around it, tying pieces of driftwood and bones to the tree and then asking a passing bird to weave the smaller items into it.
He nodded in thanks to the bird and waved it off, looking to the sky and noticing the breeze had strengthened and stiffened.

Ekundu smelled the salty see air. She'd never ventured out this far, and thought of it as exciting. She looked to the air, the sun bright, and the sky was clear of clouds. Her eyes widened as she bounded into the forest, seeing seashells scattered on the ground. She saw dried seaweed, and many different shades in the tree bark of the trees around her. She blinked as she saw a lion a few feet in front of her.
"Hello over there?" she shouted. She saw him stiffen. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea. After all, this was probably in Pride territory, and she was technically invading. She froze in her paw steps, to see what the lion would do next. Maybe he'd be a nice guy, and wouldn't attack her. But there was always that possibility. Especially if he wasn't part of the pride around there, and if he was starving.
"I promise, I won't steal anything. I'll leave if you want me too." She said, bowing her head, respectfully, hoping that the lion would see no threat in her.

Bl'arza wasn't far behind Ekundu as she neared the saline heavy airs near the ocean. The scent was heaven to him, a relaxing sort of lullaby he'd never experienced before. He understood why she'd kept the course she was on.
So far their quest for a pride had brought them many places together, but never one quite like this. He was in awe of everything he passed. Shells that told tales of many years beaten by waves, seaweed dried and yearning to return to it's aquatic home, and foliage he'd never even imagined. It seemed like a paradise, and based on the smells, prints, and discarded items he saw lying on the ground, he assumed it was paradise to a good number of lions.
As he heard Ekundu speak he sped up, coming to stand protectively beside her. In their days he'd come to be a tad fond of his traveling companion, and he was determined to keep her safe. The male she spoke to seemed to be preoccupied, and Bl'arza hoped they hadn't startled him. He wanted to make a good impression on all they met, just in case their chances at finding a home were at stake.

Tamba was far from startled. After a good portion of his life being all about welcoming newcomers to his lands, there was very little that could surprise him these days. He did an about-face so he could properly see the fairly polite sounding voice which was addressing him.
"Greetings," he said pleasantly, addressing the female and then the male that also appeared shortly afterwards.
He had to raise a brow and stifle a small chuckle at the female's other comments, it was sweet in a way. But he needn't say any more really, his genial nature and total lack of defensive posture should say enough - he was no rawry lion.

Ekundu's posture relaxed. She could tell this Lion was no harm. She smiled softly, looking at him. "Are you in the pride around here?" She asked him softly, wondering if he was a warrior, knowing she'd seen the pride somewhere.
She smelt the seaweed, which was dry on shore and in the forest. "I only ask because we were looking for it, because we wanted to join." She smiled sweetly.
Turning to Bl'arza, she whispered, "I don't think he's going to hurt us. We'll be fine as long as we don't threaten him. We'll just ask about the Pride, and hope he's part!"

Bl'arza offered a soft smile to Ekundu and shook his head. "No, I don't think he has any malicious intent at all." He bowed his head to the male in greeting, but didn't speak any more. Ekundu had this under control.
He was curious about what they would have to do to make the pride their home, and he was worried how welcoming they would be, but if the male before them was a member, and was any example to go by, it wouldn't be so hard to find a home here. They'd just need to prove themselves and then they'd be safe. Safe, and comfortable.

"Oh, so you've heard of the Bahari'mtoto?" he asked them, trying to gauge their responses, for curiosity's sake really.
Hardly any lion now in the pride hadn't found their way here by accident. Most, if not all, knew they were looking for the 'pride by the sea.' He pretended to look thoughtful over her other question.
"I guess you could say I'm a member. My name's Tambuzi," he offered them both.

Ekundu smiled. "I'm Ekundu'Dubu." She dipped her head. "Nice to meet you." She smiled.
"Bahari'Moto? That's the name of the Pride!" She smiled, getting excited. How fun! She blinked, turning to Bl'Arza, looking at him excited. "I think we really have found our home!" She said, a growing excitement in her eyes. "What do you think?" She said, waiting for him to release his name to Tambuzi. "Will it be our home?"

He offered a genuine smile to the male and bowed his head quickly. "I'm Bl'arza. It's a pleasure. "
He tilted his head slightly, considering Ekundu's words for a moment before he answered. "I think we have a lot to learn before we decide that. But, there's always the possibility, if they'd accept us." He turned his eyes to Tambuzi before he spoke again, "Could you perhaps tell us about the pride? Beliefs, rules, structure? Whatever is important to know." He shifted a paw awkwardly, unsure if he was going about this the right way. This was the first time he'd ever really tried to find a pride, and it was strange to him.

"Well I should perhaps start with the name of the pride, it means 'Children of the Sea.' So I should hope you can both swim," he chuckled. "Its a BIG part of the pride."
He felt almost like a tease, trying to pick more information from the pair before actually revealing who he was.
"And we pride ourselves on being very accepting. We've accepted lions from all walks of life, from all murky histories and bright futures. We only care that our members have a deep respect for the water. Anyone found to be disrespectful toward the Sea is unwelcome," he continued in that genial manner, but his tone turned sober towards his last comment.
He really had to impress upon new members the importance of the right level of respect for their mother element.

(( Sorry I took so long ))
Ekundu rolled her eyes at Bl'Arza. She smiled, giggling slightly, and listened to what the other lion was saying.
"I can swim!" She said out loud. She didn't mean for it to be so loud, because it echoed through the forest. "Woops." She said, her ears pressing against her head. She smiled. "So your a pride of the sea!"
Ekundu pawed the ground, her pads becoming sore from the walking she had done today. "I respect that." She said, nodding at the last thing the lion had said.

Bl'arza nodded. "The sea is a formidable thing. I certainly harbor a respect for it." He knew just how giving, or terrifying, the sea could be. He knew it could relax, create, and bring happiness, but he also knew it could destroy and take away. What was there to not respect? It was a mighty and beautiful creation. "And I can certainly swim."
He tilted his head as another question thrust itself into his thoughts. Safety was important, and he kneaded his claws into the dirt as he asked, "How well guarded are these boarders?"

The pair's enthusiasm and overall sobriety and level-headedness was really pleasing for Tamba. Almost everyone he had met this way certainly had the eagerness for a life by the great waters but would often neglect the need for reverence.
Bl'arza had raised a good question but Tamba had a good answer.
"Oh yes definitely. Like I said, we're very open but that can also make us a little vulnerable to the wrong kind of visitors. We have a healthy team of guards who also act a little like emissaries. If it had not been me you met today, it would have been one of them," he explained formally but still with those delightful tones of friendliness.
"The beach is too vital to our pride to let just anyone walk on it."

Ekunudu was taken back by the words the male said. "Are they, I mean the team, are they mean? Would they have attacked us if we were merely just passing through?" She looked at the male, Tamba, and smiled. "I mean, we are just travelers."
She looked at Bl'arza, "I didn't know you could swim." She said, giggling. "That's a good quality you have, seeing as we were heading this way."

His sigh of relief was almost immediate. "That's good to hear." He visibly relaxed. "This all sounds amazing. What else can you tell us?"
He turned with a white-toothed smile at Ekundu. "It's a useful skill to have when you're a wanderer." He nodded. "Wandering gets tiresome though. We need a home." He licked her ear softly and quickly. A sort of reassuring motion.
