 -Tiny blue eyes gazed left and then right as the morning grew later and later. She'd been waiting for awhile now, through half of yesterday and then the night, but she was getting quite restless now.
A yawn parted her tiny mouth, glancing around in hopes of seeing someone. Mama had told her to wait there after all. She'd said that if she waited long enough someone would find her. Luckily for the young one it hadn't been a hungry hyena or anything yet.
Her own tummy was grumbling now though, hungry for milk, and she pushed her ivory body upwards, beginning to toddle idley around. She should be good and wait.. but she was so bored.. it'd been so long. And everything was so new and exciting.
Her nose searched the air for interesting things, eyes wide and ears perked. There was just so much to see!-

Bathed and feeling healthier than she had in weeks, she made a beeline for the fields, some of her herbs were desperately low and she knew she had to be fast. It was all well and good leaving the cubs to be baby sat, but they would still need to be fed in a couple of hours, her work had to be managed between what she had to do and what her babies needed. It would be a hard time for her she knew, but she wouldn't give up what she was, after all, she was the only healer left.
Spotting a pale cub amongst the grasses Nyao's brow furrowed. The only pale cub she knew was her own. "What are you doing out here my darling?" She whispers padding up to the tiny white cub, only realizing on approach that it wasn't one of her own. Sh looked around, and took a scent of the air. No parents any where close by. "Are you lost my love?" She whispers, laying down and smiling gently at the white cub. She was and had always been, first and foremost a healer, which made her care about everything in the world.

-Her eyes nearly crossed over her nose as she stared at a small lady bug walking across a blade of grass, her attention drawn so that she missed the first whisper. When a warmth settled beside her, voice raising, she glanced up quickly.- "Momma!"
-Her expression fell in mild dissapointment as she made out the blue coat. Momma was white... this was a stranger. The dissapointment however was short lived.
After a whole day without attention, a belly grumbling, it was exciting to see anyone, and the softness of the female's voice called to her. She could in fact even.. smell the subtle scent of milk.
A purr rattled through her, making her whole little body vibrate.- "Not lost, momma told me to wait."
-A loud growl rumbled from the belly of the little one, and she leaned against the blue pelt as she discovered the warmth it radiated, eyes watching the lioness happily. It was fairly obvious the cub had been alone for awhile, but for a cub a day could feel like a year.- "It was dark out, and scary."

Nyao frowned, she could hear the childs stomach and she knew the feeling, although her own children had never felt hunger, she knew the crippling pain that food deprivation brought. Her mother had told her to wait, wait for what?
"Wait for what?" She whispers, a kind smile on her maw, the beautiful little cub must be lost, or abandoned, the second was worse, some mother had left her cub out here to await death? It was good that the hyenas usually kept away but a cub so small, a large bird could carry her away. Irresponsible mother. It made her slightly angry but she didn't show it, she couldn't imagine leaving her babies out here to weather the world alone.
"Are you hungry little love?" She smiles gently pulling the cub to herself, grooming her pale soft fur gently, "come have a drink, I have plenty of milk for my own cubs." She wasn't really sure how Caesar would take to her feeding a stray cub, but the poor little thing was clearly starving. "What did your mother name you little one hmm?" She lets a gentle purr roll over her lips as she grooms the tiny cub of all specks of dirt, she knew if this cub was abandoned she would take her home, she wasn't about to let the poor thing die out here all alone. It wasn't in her nature.

-The little one's brows furrowed softly at the question. For momma of course! Or she'd thought.. but momma really hadn't said what to wait for now that she recalled the last words. Whimpering softly, she asked lightly.- "Just wait. Momma's coming back...?"
-The worry on her little face softened gently as the offer sounded, and within seconds of the offer she'd latched onto the kind stranger. Her body rattled with a young purr as the comfort of warmth, food, and affection rolled over her. After a few long moments, little paws kneading delicately at Nyao's stomach, she looked up, asking with a soft smile.- "You have babies too?" -Being an only child.. she loved seeing other babies.-

Nyao looked at the cub gently, her soft eyes caring loving. "Oh yes I have a lot of babies, I have a very large litter, I'm sure they would all be very pleased to meet you." She pursed her lips and nibbled her bottom lip "Why don't you come back with me hmm? I'm sure your mother will be able to find you if she comes back. You could come and stay with my cubs and we could look after you until your mother comes back for you."
If her mother ever came back that was, the cub was so hungry, she would starve to death out here and she wasn't about to see that happen. Maximus would understand. She was a healer a savor of lives and this little life certainly needed to be saved.

-Lots of babies? Oh she liked that... she wondered what they looked like, probably blue like their momma too? Her momma was white after all. Her eyes widened a little softly as the offer made itself more clear. She was going to take her back... to play with her babies?
That sounded much more fun then waiting around... Not to mention warmer... and with more food. The excitement could be read from her young face. Oh yes she wanted to go, yes yes!- "I would like to see them."
"Momma will be able to find me though..?" -She asked, on last bit of hesitation in her tone."

Nyao smiled a gentle caring smile, she knew the answer in her heart, the cubs mother would never come back, she would be her mother, or step mother, but unlike those of stories, she would care for the little pale cub as if she were one of her own.
White lies never hurt anyone and if this one would bring the cub in to her proverbial fold she was willing to tell it. "Of course Candra, your mother will follow your scent all the way in to the prides lands, she will meet one of the guards and they will come to us and she can stay with us too then and you can all play together."
She smiles a genuine smile, though her eyes showed her lie she knew a cub would never be able to read her, cubs were cubs for a reason, they weren't supposed to know the world yet.
"Now, how about I carry you back hmm? You can come and take a little nap with my cubs and when you wake up you can have a meal with them and play, how does that sound?" She purs, grooming the cubs face softly.

"I want to go please." -A polite, happy response. Has the little one known that she'd thwarted the kind lioness' task for the day, she might have felt bad. But she was oblivious to the thought, and more than grateful for the offer, her body rattling with another young purr as she leaned in close. Her neck offered for lifting like a good girl.
What had started out a scary... even unhappy day, had turned itself around completely. Scrunching her face in soft ticklishness as the lioness' tongue groomed at the short furs, she giggled lightly.- "I am tired. I stayed up last night!" -Hopefully the tiredness would outweigh the excitement to meet everyone!-

Nyao smiled, looking briefly to the reasons he had come out to the fields she shrugged, she could return tomorrow to harvest her herbs and roots. She made a small memo to herself, gathering the ingredients in her mind to assist the cub. Each of her own cubs had received, a little after birth, a dose of varying plants and roots which helped them to ward off diseases and push back any sniffles or colds that might happen due to exploration out of the den.
"Lets get you to my den and you can have a nap with my cubs hmm?" She smiles grooming the cubs face of a few specks of dirt.
Smiling to herself she scooped up the little cub and made a beeline towards home. She knew the little one would probably sleep and eat and do very little else for at least a few days, a whole night awake and lack of food would leave her weak and open to the childhood sicknesses. She would have work to do, her time would just have to be devoted to the cubs for a few days, after all a new life was very important, especially to the dilapidated pride.

-Shifting just a little, she curled instinctively as Nyao's teeth settled on that scruff of fur that mother's made use of. She would not squirm or be bad, simply watching with tired eyes as the ground began to move beneath them.
As they drew nearer she could smell something strange and strong... a scent she'd come to know as a pride.. the intermingling smells of many lions and leopards. Of water and life. She was in fact... very nearly asleep as the lioness brought her back to the new place she'd come to know as home, her little mind already finding sweet dreams of comfort, warmth, and fun as she drifted off among the bodies of her soon to be friends.-
((Short and sweet and to the point. XD I think it seemed like a pretty good ending, but if you want a few more posts lemme know.))
