Name: Alasia
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Tannercraft - Cobbler / Dyeing
Rank: Journeywoman
Physical Description: Alasia is a very well groomed and not too bad looking young lady. She takes great pride in her appearance, especially the more feminine attributes. Standing equal to those who are 5'6 in height, and weighing in at 125 pounds, she is in good shape, but not muscular. Except, of course, for her hands and arms; those are solid, as would be expected from someone in her line of work.
Her skin is pale compared to the more tanned residents of her home, and her eyes, too, are a lighter shade of brown than some with a tone of hair to match. She styles it in various ways, depending on the occasion, but generally it is either kept one of two ways: tied back out of her face when working or left hanging past her shoulders, curling in the front, when she isn't.
Her wear consists of a very girly selection, and chances are she has more variety of shoes than you, your best friend and your mother combined.
Personality: Never judge a book by it's cover should apply to first impressions too. After meeting Alasia, most walk away convinced they've just met a mindless, status-obsessed brat. Indeed, she usually comes off that way until you really get to know her. And, it's true, Alasia has always been privileged (or at least never gone without). Things have been so comfortable for her, she sometimes forgets life does indeed have trials, and she doesn't handle them at all well. One could argue Alasia lives in a fairy tale world of faultless romance. They're probably right.
There is more to Alasia than that, and if she actually cares enough to try, she's incredibly good at selling herself to near anyone. Her brains might not get used as much as they should, but rest assured they are there. Improvising is a talent of hers, something someone truly stupid couldn't pull off. But this resourceful lady is strongly against lying. Even so, she has been known to stretch the truth within the truth as far as she can without breaking it. ("I'm not saying he didn't listen to you, but I'm not saying he is.")
Alasia has good sides to her that not many stick around to bother seeing. For example, she will not under any circumstances do anything that (in her view) is wrong. Getting her hands dirty is a big 'no, thank you', but should a time come where she was being forced to do something truly terrible, chances are she would go as far as to accept death instead. Luckily, her life doesn't have those sorts of problems.
Speaking of, Alasia would rather solve problems than discuss them. The only thing that disgusts her more than hearing someone whine over something is the idea of doing so herself. She has the spirit of an adventurer, but doesn't care much for dragons because, well, they're just way, way too big.
History: Alasia, like many, was born into her line of work. She grew up with a very normal family, a quiet life, and the biggest challenge she faced was learning to earn her keep. Early on, she had an affinity for both crafting shoes and boots, and styling them as well. For women, anyway. A boot she would make for a male would be equal in quality to a woman, but appearance-wise, not measure up at all to it's dazzling female counterpart.
Somewhere in her teenage years, she fell hard for a young man. Later, she would learn he had been searched and left for the Weyr the very same day Alasia herself had turned the opportunity down. Dragons were just too big, too much work, and fighting Thread? No, thanks.
Crushed by the loss, in spite of the relationship (according to gossip) being mostly if not entirely one-sided, Alasia centered her mind and her time completely on her craft. She ranked as journeywoman some odd turns later, still favoring footwear, and still making it more flashy than necessary.
When the thief struck the Weyr and began snatching belongings left and right, including shoes, she got a second chance to venture there once more, this time as a worker. She took it.
Ladies, prepare for new footwear like you've never seen before!
