General Overview of the Sky Festival With the pride swelling to strong numbers, the old nvwati, Tawa'di Kanati, has decided that it is time to revive old traditions. Ones that will be passed on to the new generation to continue on in the pride.
(obviously some of it has changed. humor me, please. XD)
The call will go out to all clans, 'gather, gather'! The hearts of the young and old will celebrate their homeland, their lives, their loves, and their future.
For a couple days, old friends will reunite as new friends meet. Children will find new playmates as adults exchange stories and experiences in their migratory lands.
There will also be ceremonies and rituals during the day and evening. Most of them will be in the evening, but some depend on the sky, and the clouds that reside in the sky as well.

The Cloud Ceremony - Celebrating Birth The Cloud Ceremony is celebrating the births in the clan. Since there hasn't been one of these official festivals in the new lands, that would include quite a bit of celebrating! All that is requested is a parent announcing their children. If the children want to introduce themselves to all of the pride, they may. This takes place in early morning to mid morning. Day 1
The Tree Ceremony - New Members The Ceremony to introduce new members. Please look 2 posts down to find out more information on this ceremony. This usually takes place in the late afternoon. Day 1
The Rain Ceremony - Marriages Celebrating the marriages of members. This includes any that want a formal wedding ceremony...that I will have to write up. Please post if you are interested in this, as I won't worry about it unless it's requested. Each couple will recieve a small 'offering' from Tawa'di to start the new couple's lives. It could also be a way to 'renew' vows. This occurs in the late afternoon. Day 2
The Sky Ceremony - Celebrating Life/Strength Something for the young, and young at heart. A battling ceremony. Strength should be honored, even in peaceful times. Adults and adolescents can participate in battles, seeing who is the best of their clan. If desired these clan 'champions' can battle one another to see whom is the best. While we encourage some playful competition, sportsmanship is still expected. This ceremony starts in the morning, and lasts throughout the evening.
Details are underway as I'm waiting to hear back on something. Please look at the next post to see how to participate. Day 3
The Moon Ceremony - Honoring the Dead To finish out the festival, the last evening/night is spent remembering and honoring our ancestors. The evening is spent sharing heartfelt stories of those that have passed on, a very jubial affair. The night, with children usually asleep next to their parents, is spend observing the moon in the sky, the period of mourning. When the moon sets, the grieving is concluded. The next day the clans part again will well wishes for one another. Day 4

How to Participate Every Ceremony will be open for a week to let everyone post. Please note that they technically take place over a span of a couple days ICly.
I will NOT be PMing you when the ceremonies start. Please keep track of this yourself! If you are unable to post when you stated you will, there will be no penalty. Just...don't fail me, k?
~~ For the Cloud, Rain, and Moon ceremony, you will need to post here stating that you'd like to participate. For these, you'll only be expected to post once. Posting more is completely up to you. (well, if you want a substantial role. getting married, renewing vows, mother announcing children, ect. If you just want to do an observation post, you don't have to post to do that.)
~~ For the Tree ceremony, all of the information is in the next post. Please refer to that. Remember that not everyone might be accepted, as we're going by personality of the character.
Sky Ceremony
I'm trying to make this as easy as possible. If you have any questions about it, please post them here. This is all pending, as I don't want to step on Firekin toes of the battle idea! <3
Adults and Adolescents may participate. It is voluntary.
Each clan may 'enter' in as many of their members as they want. I am hoping for a minimum of 2 per clan, but there are no penalties if not.
You will need to sign up in advance! A bracket will be made, and everyone will be randomized onto it. A losers bracket will be included if people wish it so. It will go on for a bit longer if there is one.
Stats are the same for everyone (except hp)! The only difference is the stage the lion is at. It will go by what stage they are at when the ceremony starts! So if they grow to adol/adult between the time you sign up and the cut off date is, they will get 'upgraded' or sign up. The cut off date will probably be a day or two before it starts.
Newly joined rogues may participate. That's why the Tree ceremony is before the Sky.
Stats: Adol HP: 18 Adult HP: 24
Each hit is 2 damage.
Dice rolls: 1 - miss 2-3 - half 4-5 - full 6 - double
To determine who goes first, each player will roll one 6 sided dice. The higher roll goes first.
--- The winner's prize is undetermined. Most likely some sort of bragging rights, but perhaps some sort of item as well. Suggestions are encouraged.

Information for people interested in joining in/joining the pride ect
There will be a ceremony introducing new members to the pride. There will be a bit of a twist on this, though, so you need to read carefully.
------
This will be the last big group of new members for a few months. So if you are interested in joining the Ela'wadiyi, here's your warning.
Tawa'di will come across rogues lingering around the borders who may want to join. Their interests in doing so are their own. They will temporarily be housed within the Bird Clan, as that's Tawa'di's personal clan. When the ceremony at the festival begins, they will recieve their clan.
This is how it will work: 1. You will randomly be inserted into a clan, through a dice roll. Tawa'di will use herbs to determine where you go, as the Great Sky Spirit will guide him to your true home/clan. As such, you cannot pick what clan you go into.
2. If it is a mated pair joining, they will go together. This includes children as well, from a mated pair or a single parent. If the child is an adolescent, they have the option to go with their parent or see where the Sky wants them to go (aka they get rolled).
3. There will be a few exclusions to this. You need to petition to me why your character should be excluded from this process. Please remember that males always go into their mate's clan, so if you have a male that will join a clan just for mating reasons, it's kinda silly to petition me, but go ahead (via PM).
4. If there are many, many people interested, there will be something else that happens, but I'm just testing the waters at this point. It's a secret. wink
Extras: ~ I can't guarantee that every lion will be accepted. I do take into account OOC things (not you, just your character/lion). ~ I refuse to accept any cubs/juves that have parents. If they have no family (custom, random, ect), that will be okay. I do not support needlessly seperating families. ~ Please remember that these lions have marriages. Thus, no jumpin' in the sack with all the ladies/men. Sorry, it doesn't happen in this pride. Swingers don't fit in here. -gooooneeeee-

Contest! - OVER These lions are up for a little contest. Anyone may enter for them. All you need to do is give them a name and a little personality blurb. Before the Tree Ceremony, I will pick whom they will go to! <3 Update: These lions will be going into the Mantis Clan! It will be revivied in the Festival to help balance out some of the numbers, since there are so many incoming lions!
You may try for as many as you like! Only one per winner though. Lion: (girl 1, girl 2, boy 1, boy 2, boy 3) Name: (no surnames, please) Personality: (please keep this short and sweet)
This girl is currently ownerless, as Kisoni gave her up. DFA asked me to try and find an owner for her...so I decided to try and do so! smile
You will need to do the same as above. Please note that she will be staying in the Wolf Clan (and in the pride!!), as she's very cherished because of her white coat. She has a clean slate, as she's never been rped, but no meanies! She is a seer as well.
Disclaimer: If I don't find someone I think that matches her well, she won't be given out in this manner. Going to be really picky with his gorgeous girly.
Please just POST that you are going for Ari, and a personality blurb to go with it. <3

Name: Makovu Image: Click! Personality: Makovu is a very confused lion. He had to grow up very quickly and his childhood held a lot of anger. His mother was cursed by the God Jaddis (also the cubs father). The curse said that as long as Makovu's mother did not eat, her children would eat. However, if she ate, her cubs would starve. Makovu watched his mother suffer and could not do anything to help. When he was old enough, he decided to leave so he could find Jaddis and get revenge for his mother. Along the way, however, Makovu has seen a different way of life as he travels the lands. Now he is searching for something that he can be a part of, some kind of purpose to give his life meaning so he knows that his mother did not suffer in vain. Note: Makovu has grown to an adult, but I am still RPing him as an adolescent for a little while.
