User ImageA low hum escaped the kyunru as he walked along, each step sure even with the male's eyes nowhere near the ground. Rather, he was off searching for the first sign of stars in the sky, hoping to cast the first blossom twinkling above him alongside the moon. Though as of current, his search had been less than successful.

Not to worry, he'd find one. Came the bright little reminder in his head as he gave a bright chirp of 'Of course!' to himself without a second thought to what others would think. Not that anyone was around to hear, many were at home, preparing for the evening. It would only make sense afterall. It was night, most slept at night. They missed out on the lovely sight of the darkened world by doing so, but such was their wish. and wishes were meant to come true. The song said so, and so did he.

A few more steps as the red continued to fade away, giving way to the pale face of the moon. Night truly was taking over with each second and soon... soon he'd find the first one, it would come along, and with it- "Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight..." This time it was more of a whisper, as it was a private matter of sorts to spot the first sparkling dot above. As soon as he'd finished his prayer of sorts to the sky, he smiled to himself, the small wings on his back flutters up briefly in a silent form of thanks before he began trotting along across the land, off to explore what changes had occurred with the passing of the sun's time.

The world did offer such curiosities with such changes after all.

He rounded a lone tree after a moment, gaze roaming up the hill before him before his legs began to follow along the path, head lowering a bit to examine the ground about halfway up as he stared down across the blades almost like a child seeing them for the first time. A few moments of the look before he deemed he'd properly appreciated the moon's glow falling across the grass before turning his gaze to the now dotted sky above. Certainly the world was better out here, far away from the lights of the city which created a blanket to hide the world above. He couldn't imagine how those people lived their lives without it, not that he was going to judge. It just created another question for him. One which was shrugged off and located in the back of his head as he reached the top of the hill, plunking himself down onto the ground unceremoniously upon arrival. It was, afterall, time to relate the days events to his friend above, whoever they might be.

"You know, the sky was light today. Summer truly is in full swing, even the clouds have hidden away to plot their return. Though it appears everyone prefers it as such, so many smiling faces can be seen from afar, I'm almost tempted to join them. It is mainly the fact that watching them, for they are so joyous, is of the same degree of enjoyment that I am placated with as much. Though perhaps tomorrow I shall drop in on the birds. I do wonder if they would allow me to join in on the song for a day."

Not a stir was heard save for the slight, peaceful, and content breathing, and the scene provided a rather dreamlike vision: a very little female child, innocently slumbering away the day, untouched by reality's harshness or dangers. But the coming of night signaled activity for this particular kyunru, and with the darkening of the day came the lightening of sleep.

Except for this certain time, when instead of a gradual awakening, some sound drifting in the air caught the young kyunru's attention; one eye opened, the clearest blue making its entrance to the night, and then the other opened, and a luminous gold joined in as the duo's completion.

She heard the voice, almost in a singsong tone, and rather catchy lyrics it sounded like--if she heard right. Intrigued, she searched for the origin of what had disturbed her sleep, and began walking towards that general direction, picking up her lantern held by a metal rod in her mouth. Soon, the child caught sight of an older one rather similar to herself in color, but... blessed by the stars themselves, it seemed. She blinked, almost thrilled by the sight, and quickened her pace, making sure to keep the silence.

He seemed lost in his own world, and she wasn't soon to disturb it. It was like... watching a story unveil. After observing his tree circling and ascent up the hill, she padded up behind the same lone tree, wondering whether to make the same ascension or not. He seemed harmless, possibly friendly, and perhaps the two shared the same ideals, if not only coats.

And so, the girl almost floated up the hill as well, fluttering her wings with each step though not entirely using them, and reached a spot near the stranger in time to hear his offered words. This confused the little spectator; was he talking to himself, or did he know she was there? She stepped closer to him, chancing the risk of being noticed. If he didn't hear her tiny steps, perhaps the light emitting from her lantern would have caught his attention.

...But if neither of those worked, then surely he would break out of his trance to her words: "Why not sing without them?" she spoke softly as a suggestion. She allowed a very minuscule smile to form on her face; the edges of her mouth curled only a couple of degrees upwards so that she looked relatively fine.

User ImageThe silence as he'd listened, perhaps, for the stars reply to his entry in the night log he always spoke, was broken first by a foreign glow and second by the dainty voice of the fawn. He lowered his gaze a bit, then more until it fell upon the owner of the voice, the spaced out look slowly focusing as he took in the suggestion she'd given. "Sing... without them..?" He spoke slowly, musing over the sentence as he did before offering her a smile. "But I wish to be taught by such masters first, so I may bring the same joy they do into the world. Should I not join them first to learn their ways?" He replied, obviously not the least bit troubled by the appearance of the peculiar fawn. Rather, he quickly seemed to lose the subject of singing as his eye fell on the lantern she carried, curiosity once more taking over.

"Ah, is that like the ones from the town? A portable flicker thing?" He questioned, leaning forward slightly to try and look closer. "Or perhaps, the fire flies dance within, or something more magical than that even?" Ah, he'd rather like to find it was even a small star, though the thought of one locked up forever was a bit sad, he rather liked the idea of seeing one so close. Truly it would have been a gift from the heavens above.

Not that Cielu wasn't unique in her own right, it was just that he hadn't gotten that far yet, slowly taking in each small wonder for it's own amazing features. After all, people often overlooked what deserved the most notice, perhaps even praise. What a shame it would be if he did the same by being in such a rush.

For did they not have their whole lives to enjoy such things. "Though perhaps I've asked too much... perhaps it's better a mystery." He narrowed his eyes a bit, peering at the thing a moment long before leaning back to his normal posture again, a smile showing at the corners of his mouth. "It could be one of the wonders of the world we are best not to ask about." He added, gaze shifting now to the figure who held the thing. "Though I think... it's not so wrong to as least as who you might be, little one?" She had come to speak to him, so it must be alright? Well so long as- "I would be Orfeo, and just that of course." -he introduced himself in the process.
