Nightfire was lost in concentration, trying to get this last spell just right. It called for boiled seawater to be tossed into a circle around a mugwart stump after being boiled at a temperature of 300 degrees for two hours. It shouldn't have been so complicated, but his sweater kept boiling away into salt. So he was watching closely, adding more water when he thought he was about to run dry. Finally, almost done...and he got up to get the mugwart stump ready. With everything in place, he went to check on his water, without thinking about dusting himself free of mugwart chips or sand. He leaned over the fire and water, checking the temperature and the amount, and several chips of stump fell down into the fire and the water. A crackling and whizzing noise erupted and shot the unknowing sorcerer into the air and down into the lagoon he was working next to. He plummeted into the water, unable to get his wings under him enough to catch himself. Under the waves, he cracked his skull off of a rock, knocking him unconscious.

Searching. She stretched under the water. She wanted to do her god deed for the day. So some one in need. She honed in on Nightfire and swam towards him. As she watched him sink, she powered forward. She grabbed him with her forelegs and powered to the surface, then beyond, breaking into the air. She powered her wings and looked or a good place. She spotted an island she knew that had no one on it. Thankfully, it was small and in the middle of nowhere, so there was no chance of anyone else happening along. She checked on his pulse then frowned a bit as she saw his head. She dived under the water, gathered some kelp and sea weed and made a bandage for his head. Once she finished that she settled beside him and put her wing over him to keep him warm as she settled into a light doze.

Nightfire dreamed while he slept, dreams of waves and watery demons. And of a large flying fish. He could smell it in the air...a large fish...who maybe had hit him on the head? It hurt badly, jarring him awake when he rolled over on it. To his surprise, a leathery wing lay over him. Odd... He slipped from under the wing, standing up on wobbly legs and tried to take in his surroundings. The leathery wing...a good place to start...green and yellow...and attached to..."A fish?" He sat back down, rubbing the spot on his head gently. "Perhaps I was hit harder than I originally thought..."

She sat up and stretched. "Ah you're awake, how does your head feel?" she asked, worriedly.

"It talks..." He scooted closer, "And it seems that it is also very real..." He sat down, "My head is still rather fuzzy, but it will be better as soon as I find some herbs. Why are you here?"

"What herbs do you need?" she asked. "I'm good at finding things."

She nodded and spread her wings, focusing on the first. she winced. "This may take a while, stay put, you're injured." With that she moved her powerful wings, creating a downdraft as she took to the skies. "mint," she said, reminding her power as she headed for the nearest mint.

Nightfire watched as she left. Her body radiated power, and it called to him. All power called to him, to the power in him. The more of it he had, the stronger he thought he could become. He sighed, "I cannot enslave another...it never ends right and is always messy..."

She took a while to find and gather all the herbs. And a basket. She returned with a covered basket full of the herbs. She landed beside him, panting a bit. "Sorry that took so long."

"It's fine. Thank you." He pulled the herbs out and tore them into bits, holding them in a cupped hoof. He then muttered something indistinguishable and water fell into his hoof, just enough to make a small soupy substance. He then crushed them together the rest of the way, causing the ingredients to make a fine paste. Dabbing a pinion feather into his concoction and then on his head, he covered his injured head with his healing salve. The cooling of the mint was already taking effect and relaxing the swelling around the knot.
