Oathkeeper had been summoned from one of his daily wanderings by a very over excited and barely literate Maui. He was just about to have settled down in one of his favorite reflection spots when the sunset colored mare swooped down from the sky and began giving him a rampant earfull...in which he caught the words "Three baskets" "hatched" and "Lovely foals." That was enough to make the stallion realize that his daughter-in-law was speaking of his grandchildren having emerged from their woven homes. Oathkeeper was more than thrilled, and with a nod of acknowledgement he took off galloping towards home. Maui, being a wind and able to fly beat Oathkeeper there by a good few minutes and decided this was the best time to spruce up her new family for meeting their proud grandfather. "Now---uh, London, Rio, you two by your father and Jaloo can stand with me. Grandpa is on his way and he wants very much to meet all of you, sweeties" she ordered...though it wasn't likely to happen right away with this chaotic bunch.

Rio groaned as he saw his mother was fussing again. Did it really matter that much where they were all stood when he got here? I mean they where going to move as soon as the old man arrived anyway. Then again. He wanted to please his mother. Like any other small child he liked to be complemented and made to feel like he could do nothing one. So if taking part in this odd welcoming ceremony was what it took to put a big old smile on his mothers face, then that is what he would do!
"Okay Mommy!" he smiled and trotted over to his father standing inside his legs with a huge smile on his face. One of those you see in photographs where the person is trying way to hard. He could feel his cheek twitching something awful he just hoped it was not too obvious.

The filly wasn't really listening to her mother, oh no. Her and her dad were singing and prancing about like a real pair of weirdos. Her vibrant eyes were closed in laughter, her tail was flicking about this way and that way. Who cared what their mother was saying when she was having so much fun with papa?
Her brother's voice caught her attention and made her stop singing in order to look at him. She felt a nudge on her rump from her dad and snorted hard. "What, what what? What?" Jaloo demanded, looking up to the stallion with an inquisitive face. "What's happening?"
No, she hadn't been paying much attention, and she wondered how her father did. What with the singing and all. Maybe it was something she could learn to do! Sing and listen to others at the same time. That'd be so cool. Grinning, she moved over to her mother and nuzzled her side before mouthing at her wings. She'd been so jealous that Rio had gotten wings and she didn't. But then she realized she was the brightest one out of all of them and didn't care. That made her so much cooler. Only rock stars got to be bright. Star snorted at his daughter's question and rolled his eyes a bit. "You have to go stand with your mom! Grandpa's coming to meet you all now that you're all big enough. Where's London?" He looked around for the black colt before spotting him and snorted. "Great. I'm already starting to worry. I'll turn gray before you know it!"
He laughed and moved over to Maui, nosing her cheek gently and smiling before looking back to their foals. Such pretty babies they made. One of them with their mother's wings, but all a brilliant combination of family. He didn't quite know where Jaloo's reddish color came from, but that was alright. She was still his little girl. "SO. When grandpa gets here, stay still and let him have a look at you all." He knew that wouldn't happen with this crazy bunch.
Snorting a bit, he wondered how they all managed to grab some of his personality and none of their mothers. In the back of his mind, Starseeker blamed Oath. No doubt about it. That's where he got his personality from, so it was his fault. Grinning at that thought, the stallion moved over to his two sons and nudged them into position, grooming their manes to make them look more presentable. Like it'd really stay that way. Sure he knew better, but he could still try.

((Id like to quote to Coffee, that Star is nothing like Oath xd Oath wonderered where his kids got their personalities from. Only his daughter, Starwielder is somewhat like him. If anything you could say it's a strange family gene that no one understands.))
Maui returned the loving nuzzle to her mate. She was fairly happy with the results of her request. "Exellent, thank you all. You've made your mother very happy" Maui replied, as her foals and hubby made efforts towards organizaton. Being smart as she was, she knew saying something like that would help the wily foals get a sense of motivation for listening to her silly requests. Maui could tell they didn't really want to take the time to do this, but for her---she didn't think they'd disagree. "Very good very good" she smiled, "He'll be here any second. You're all going to meet grandfather Oathkeeper. Father to your daddy, Starseeker."
London frolicked over when he heard his father call. He too of coarse was a parent pleaser after all. As he made his way to his 'post' near father he gave a playful n** at his brother Rio's wings. "Hey bird-boy, make sure your wings don't cramp my style when grandpa arrives. Scoot a little more to the right, please" he demanded in a tone like his mom's to be funny. He was sure his brother would retaliate in some way, but was prepaired for the usual. "Tehe" he laughed to himself, standing in place.
Oathkeeper came galloping quickly into the glen. He stopped infront of the still slightly squabbling family and smiled. He inclined his head to Maui and beamed at his son. His eyes wandered down and met the eyes of the three children. He 1st took in silently that he had two grandsons and a grand daughter. The same he'd had with his 1st batch of children, the two sons Erianus and Starseeker and then his daughter, Starwielder. His chest swelled with pride. "Hello kids" he smiled childishly, "I'm your grandpa, Oathkeeper or---Oath for short if you'd like. I'm pleased to meet you all. Such strapping grandsons and a lovely grand-daughter." He paced towards them all slowly. "So tell me, grandkids...what do you all like? Anything in the world call to you or impress you yet? Sometimes we know our callings from birth, sometimes we develop them. Your old man here" he notioned to Starseeker, "new he loved music right from the get go. Myself, I learned my calling in my adulthood---to help others."

His mother was pleased. So was he. He loved to make his parents happy. It made him feel warm inside like he was doing something right for once. Then again... did he ever do anything wrong. Of cause he did. Admitting it however was another thing.
Rio's eyes darted over to his brother as he messed with his wings. Bird boy seemed to be his nick name these days. He pouted and flapped them outwards hitting his brother lightly at the side before bringing them back to his own side. "I am sorry I need more room. Extra space for the wings you see." He stated proudly sticking his tongue out before putting the smile back on his face.
Rio's attention then went to the distance as a older stallion ran towards them. Was that his grandfather? He wondered tilting his head and stepping forward slightly. Listening intently as everything else in the scene was blocked out of his mind. What could he say? He wondered in as fluster before smiling.
"I am Rio, Grandpa. My calling is the sky's I am going to go higher than anyone else ever has." He boasted. He could not even make it off of the ground yet. He would not admit that however. His mother had promised him his first flying lesson, which he was going to bring up every so often so she would not forget.
